The space did not collapse, it softened.

That was the first warning.

Galathea Brooks stood at the center of the constructed chamber, where everything had aligned too cleanly, too completely-- and instead of pressing further, instead of advancing into the next stage of processing-- the Doom paused.

But not in hesitation, in presentation.

The white did not disappear. It thinned.

Edges returned first-- faint, almost hesitant lines carving themselves into something recognizable. Depth followed, subtle and precise. The air changed next, density shifting into something breathable, something human.

Warmth replaced the sterile neutrality.

Light bent and then-- it formed.

The transition did not happen all at once.

It unfolded deliberately, like something being rebuilt from memory rather than created from nothing.

Galathea did not move.

Her gaze tracked every shift, every correction, every detail resolving into place with unsettling accuracy.
