The private gallery room sat sealed behind a glass partition, its temperature held a few degrees lower than the rest of the floor. The air carried a faint sterile edge, filtered and controlled, barely disturbed except by the quiet hum of the climate system hidden in the ceiling.
Two pieces occupied the center of the room-- mounted separately, spaced with deliberate precision. One stood encased in a low-profile glass housing, the other suspended slightly off the wall, its frame thin enough to disappear under the track lighting angled above it.
Soft white light fell evenly across both works, measured to avoid heat concentration. The marble floor reflected just enough of it to blur the edges of movement.
