Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Attention! They Were Looking in the Wrong Direction From the Start!

In a Villa.

Rhodey, wearing a black mask, appeared here.

As soon as he appeared, a piercing alarm sounded around him.

"Nice security system!"

Rhodey praised.

At this moment, footsteps were already rushing towards this direction.

But Rhodey's figure disappeared from his spot in the next second.

At the same time,

Scotch, who had just been playing games with his mistress, was also preparing to enter the safe room escorted by two bodyguards.

But just then, a figure suddenly appeared at the end of the corridor.

"Hello~!"

Rhodey waved and greeted them.

What responded to him was a burst of bullets.

He teleported to dodge.

Appearing behind the group.

Bang, bang, two shots!

The two bodyguards fell to the ground.

Scotch's mistress screamed in fright.

Rhodey found her too noisy, so he also gave her a bullet.

Instantly, the woman "slept" quietly.

"Who are you?"

As a billionaire tycoon, Scotch remained relatively calm in the face of death.

"Don't worry, I'll leave a business card."

Rhodey said.

Then, without giving the other party another chance to speak, he raised his hand and fired a shot, a bullet instantly piercing through the other party's forehead.

Thud~!

Scotch, dying with his eyes wide open, fell to the ground.

After doing all this, Rhodey left one of his business cards and then instantly teleported away from the spot.

Before leaving, he also went to the Villa's monitoring room.

He killed several bodyguards who were watching the monitors and took away the hard drive from the main unit.

"Better safe than sorry."

Rhodey casually tossed the hard drive into the ocean, then instantly teleported away.

....

Seven minutes later.

Rhodey came out of the restroom.

In those past seven minutes, he had already eliminated five old men from the information Harry had given him.

An average of one minute per person.

Excluding the time he returned to his residence to put things away and dispose of the hard drives, that's all it took.

I have to say,

These billions were earned truly easily.

Rhodey didn't encounter any danger throughout the process.

Red Devil's teleportation ability, it's the GOAT!

Returning to his seat, his friends had no idea what Rhodey had been doing in those seven minutes he was in the restroom, thinking he had simply gone to the toilet.

After Rhodey returned, he continued to eat, drink, and play with his cronies until past 1 AM when they all went home separately.

On the other side,

While Rhodey was drinking and flirting, in five other locations far away in Free City, large numbers of Police had surrounded the areas.

The Police in Free City might usually be slow.

But once something happened to these rich people, they would definitely rush to the scene at the fastest speed of their lives.

At this moment, at least a dozen Police officers were investigating each of the five scenes.

However, no matter how much these people searched for clues, they could only find a few bullet casings and a business card intentionally left at the scene by the perpetrator.

The business card had no name, it was black, with a bloody scythe on the front and a White skull on the back.

"What is this?"

A Police chief asked, picking up the evidence bag.

"The Reaper's business card," an old Police officer next to him shook his head and said.

"The Reaper?" The Police chief was newly transferred to Free City and clearly hadn't heard the name before.

"Who is that? Some terrorist organization?"

The Police chief asked.

"No, that's the code name of a killer," the old Police officer replied.

"A killer?" The Police chief said angrily, "So you want to tell me that all of this was done by one killer? Five locations at the same time, does that killer have the ability to create clones?"

"That I don't know, maybe he's not alone," the old Police officer replied.

Clearly, he didn't want to deal with this Police chief.

"Then why don't you go and investigate properly?" The Police chief scolded, "Where did the killer take the order? Who issued the bounty? Find out everything clearly and then come back to me!"

The old Police officer shook his head and walked away.

The other Police officers around also dared not incur the Police chief's displeasure at this time.

Just then, several black SUVs slowly drove up and parked by the side of the road.

Several men in black suits got out of the cars.

They rudely barged into the cordon and then showed their identification.

"FBI, we are in charge here now."

The leading man ordered the Police Officer.

"Damn FBI!"

The Police Officer cursed under his breath, then waved his hand to have his subordinates transfer the physical evidence, while he himself went to the side to smoke, not bothering to deal with these FBI agents who always liked to steal their credit!

A moment later;

The Police Officers on the scene began to withdraw.

The area was taken over by the FBI.

Similar situations also occurred at the other four crime scenes; in all cases, FBI agents entered, and local Police Officers were ordered to leave.

After all outsiders had left, these FBI agents entered the crime scenes to investigate.

"Officer, the Police have been sent away, and currently, no traces of Inhumans activity have been detected."

The FBI head who had previously shown his identification walked to the side, pulled out a phone, dialed a number, and reported the situation at the scene to the people above him.

"Continue to follow up. After ruling out the possibility of Inhumans involvement, hand it over to the FBI for handling."

The Officer on the other end of the line only replied with one sentence before hanging up.

At the same time, boxes adorned with eagle patterns were carried out of the cars by these "FBI" agents and moved into the scene.

It turned out that these "FBI" agents were not actual FBI at all, but S.H.I.E.L.D. agents impersonating them.

At this moment, Rhodey did not know that his crime scenes had already attracted the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fortunately, S.H.I.E.L.D. thought the perpetrators were Inhumans, so they brought instruments capable of detecting the special energy traces left behind when Inhumans use their abilities.

However, Rhodey was not an Inhumans.

He was a Mutant!

Rhodey did not know whether Mutants left energy traces at the scene when using their Mutant abilities, but even if they did, those instruments certainly wouldn't be able to detect them.

After all;

These instruments were specifically designed for Inhumans.

The existence of Mutants had never been exposed!

Even if Rhodey were to proactively declare himself a Mutant, others would probably still believe he was an Inhumans, just one who insisted on calling himself a Mutant.
