Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: The Silent Depth

The sky thinned as Harold moved farther from everything familiar.

Wind no longer resisted him.

It parted.

Obeyed.

Guided.

The signal ahead grew heavier with every second.

Not violent.

Not chaotic.

But ancient.

Dense.

Like something that had existed long before anything else began to move.

Harold slowed.

Not because he had to—

But because instinct told him to.

Below him—

The ocean had changed.

Dark.

Endless.

Still.

No waves.

No movement.

Just a surface so smooth it reflected nothing.

Inside—

The Devourer stirred first.

"…This is not normal water."

The Whale Falcon circled above.

"Air pressure stable."

"Surface… deceptive."

Unity dimmed slightly.

"Balance… suppressed."

The Counter-Sovereign whispered,

"Detection limited."

Harold descended slowly.

The closer he got—

The quieter everything became.

Even inside him.

No wind.

No sound.

No movement.

He landed lightly on the surface.

And didn't sink.

Storm wasn't here.

Frost wasn't here.

For the first time in a long time—

Harold was completely alone.

He looked down.

The surface beneath his feet…

Wasn't reflecting him.

It was absorbing him.

The signal pulsed.

Stronger.

Closer.

Then—

The ocean beneath him shifted.

Not outward.

Not upward.

Inward.

A spiral formed beneath his feet.

Silent.

Massive.

Endless.

The Devourer reacted instantly.

"…This is a feeding zone."

The Monkey King tilted his head.

"Of what?"

The answer came immediately.

The ocean opened.

Not like water.

Like a mouth.

Harold didn't move.

Didn't react.

As the surface collapsed beneath him—

He let himself fall.

Darkness swallowed everything.

No light.

No sound.

No sense of direction.

Only pressure.

The deeper he fell—

The heavier it became.

Not crushing.

But observing.

Measuring.

Then—

He stopped.

Not because he hit something.

But because something stopped him.

A presence.

It didn't appear.

Didn't move.

Didn't speak.

It simply existed.

And that existence alone—

Felt deeper than the ocean itself.

Inside—

Every Titan went silent.

Even the Monkey King.

Even the Devourer.

Unity dimmed to almost nothing.

The Counter-Sovereign's threads froze.

For the first time—

Harold felt it.

Not pressure.

Not danger.

Depth.

A voice finally echoed.

Slow.

Calm.

Endless.

"You… carry consumption."

Harold's eyes sharpened slightly.

"…And you are?"

Silence.

Then—

The darkness moved.

Not outward.

Not forward.

It revealed.

A shape formed.

Massive.

But not like the Whale Falcon.

Not like anything before.

It didn't dominate space.

It consumed it.

A colossal figure emerged from the void.

Its body shifting like liquid shadow.

Its presence pulling everything inward—

Even light.

The Devourer inside Harold reacted.

"…Origin."

The voice spoke again.

"I am what feeds… when all things end."

Harold stared at it.

"…Another SSS-tier."

The presence didn't deny it.

"I am not power."

A pause.

"I am inevitability."

The space around them warped.

Slowly collapsing toward the entity.

Even Harold felt it now.

Not force.

Pull.

A gravity that didn't belong to the world.

The Counter-Sovereign whispered,

"Warning."

"Conceptual entity detected."

The Monkey King muttered,

"…I don't like that word."

The entity spoke again.

"You have taken fragments."

"You have unified."

A pause.

"But you have not faced… the end."

Harold stepped forward.

Despite the pull.

Despite the pressure.

"I didn't come to face it."

The darkness shifted.

"I came to take it."

For the first time—

The entity reacted.

Not with anger.

Not with resistance.

With interest.

"…Bold."

The pull intensified.

The void around them began collapsing faster.

"You seek to devour… the devourer."

Harold's aura stabilized instantly.

"I seek to control it."

Silence.

Then—

The entity moved.

Not fast.

But unavoidable.

The void surged.

The darkness expanded.

The pressure increased beyond anything Harold had faced before.

Inside—

Every Titan reacted at once.

The Devourer surged violently.

"Engaging origin entity."

Unity flared.

"Balance under extreme stress."

The Counter-Sovereign activated fully.

"Containment impossible."

The Monkey King grinned.

"…Now THIS feels dangerous."

Harold exhaled slowly.

His eyes sharpened.

"Good."

The void collapsed inward.

The entity advanced.

The entire space bent toward a single point.

And Harold—

Stepped forward to meet it.

The third SSS-tier Titan had appeared.

Not as a ruler.

Not as a challenger.

But as something far more terrifying.

A force that did not conquer.

A force that ended.
