Chapter 21 - Chapter 20

The holy church of Yaseki was the one placed speed was a vice and stillness was a virtue for it said before his eyes every stands still and it is impossible to move ahead or beyond him. He was said to be the epitome of motion. The singular being that set everything in motion.

Thus, it was the one place in Kinerik where Kinerikans walked instead of run. Sat still in silence to listen to the sermon prophets and preacher reading from the ancient text of the Cosmic Steps which were said to have been left behind by Yaseki himself to help give each stride and step taken and help them race forward to a life of peace and tranquility.

There in the pew amongst the other Kinerikan bowed their heads in pray and worship to great Yaseki, Zoomie stood on her knees praying with all her heart for Rushina and Yaseki the give her the strength to bear and endure a life of stillness just for a little longer and help her raise back up to her feet.

A single tear left her lips as she made that silent pray.

Then the doors flew with a powerful.

*Inhale*

*Exhale*

Time seemed to have frozen as a single person took a step forward. She looked around as she walked, her seeing slow, frozen contorted expression of gasps of shock and outrage. But amongst all the frozen faces one caught her.

Her eyes have been the most still of them but somehow, as she walked through the church's isle they seemed to follow her steps all the way to the altar were she stood before the prophet and above him, the image of their lord Yaseki seated on his ornate throne with his massive wings of extended out. His eyes shut as he faced down at her.

She then fell to her knees.

"For…"she choked on her own words.

A breath then left her lips as she bowed her head and shut her eyes.

"Forgive me father for I have sinned again, and again, and again" she swallowed bitterly.

"I know it not my place to judge or question your designed but," she a low breath left her lips and her shoulders slumped down.

"This world isn't right. It's broken, unfair, and unjust," her words came out heavy. "You bless others with the gift speed and curse the rest to watch in still slow".

Her cracked as she spoke.

"I…I'm tired of being always put down"

"Slugha"

The image of a man mocking her darting away flashed in her mind.

"I'm tired of never being given a chance,"

The images of streaks darting past her past her with happy smile etched on their flash.

"And most of all, I'm tired…"

"Get out"

"Daddy please…"

"Don't you ever call me that you slugha,"

*Bam*

"..living a slow life," And upon saying those words, time moved fast enough for two drops to slowly make their way down and soil the holy ground.

One a tear from her eyes the second blood from the severed hand were her limiter once laid.

All that happened within that span of a single second. And all those in the church and pew even the prophet him that wore gear three limiter on his wrist could only perceive a hazy gust of wind along with blurred figure as walked in.

And now, her body finally moving slow enough to be perceived by them. Shining and glowing like a goddess that descended down from the heavens with tears in her eyes and blood dripping down from her severed hand.

"Rush..." she heard a soft broken muffled voice from behind her.

"Rushina" she raised her head and turned to her. Zoomie, she watched her stare back at her with heavy filled with tears.

"Why?" were the finally words to leave her lips as the tears began to fall.

"Sacrilege," she heard the prophet cry out, everyone's face contorted and twisted in rage and disgust.

Rushina seeing their faced twisted in rage and disgust, just cracked a smile.

Time then began to slow down around her and they froze up.

Rushina then walked up Zoomie and kissed her cheeks.

"Thank you,"

And in flash and burst thunderous wind, that sent everyone stumbling down, she was gone.

"Where did she go?"

"She was here just a moment,"

"There is no way could be that fast"

Zoomie heard the chatter and clutter of confused voices but all she could do was place a hand on her cheek and shed a tear.
