"What the fuck do you mean you can't track down my wife?" nanggagalaiti kong tanong sa isa sa mga tauhan ko na inutusan ko upang hanapin si Brielle, my wife.
She's been missing for almost two days, and I'm getting frantic. I can't just sit here and do nothing when my wife is nowhere to be found. This is making me fucking insane
"Boss, baka kasi nasa condo siya ng kaibigan—"
Tinutukan ko ito ng baril bago pa nito matapos ang sasabihin nito,"Say it, i won't hesitate to fucking kill you!" sigaw ko rito.
Tangina, hindi niya pwedeng gawin sa'kin 'to, she's my wife, my property.
"How the fuck can I calm down when my wife, my fucking everything, has been gone for almost two days? Tangina talaga, this is killing me," inis kong sinipa ang kung anong bagay na nakapatong sa lamesa. Pinaputukan ko rin ang vase na nasa harapan ko bago ko binalingan ng tingin si Blue.
"May alam ka ba rito, Blue?" inis kong tanong sa kaniya, he gulped while slowly looking away at me, tangina alam niya.
"Where the fuck is my wife?!" my voice shook as I spoke, the words tumbling out in a low, menacing growl. I slammed my fist on the table, making the glasses tremble.
"Tangina nito...malamang sa malamang mag kasama ngayon ang dalawa bakit mo ba hinahanap ha!? diba't kasalanan mo naman kung bakit umalis si Keyla. Kasalanan mo kung lumayo man ang loob ng asawa mo sayo."
Agad naman akong natahimik sa sinabi nito."It doesn't matter... she's still married to me," mariin na sagot ko habang matalim na nakatingin sa kaniya.
"Now tell me, where is my wife?" halos mandilim na ang paningin ko habang nakatingin sa kaniya.
"You're being unfair to her at isa pa, kasalanan mo kung layasan ka man ng asawa mo. You should get rid of Amara but what did you do? Huh?! you fuck her in your bedroom...anong gusto mo? Intindihin ka pa rin? e gago ka pala e!" bahid sa boses nito ang labis na inis.
Fuck, I know I messed up.
Reality slaps me hard, knowing that little by little, she's starting to hate me—and that's what I fear the most, that she might completely erase me from her life.
I could endure being ignored by her, but being forgotten?
No. That's something I could never accept, not now, not ever. I love her—more than she could ever know. I couldn't live without her in my life.
I was fucking frustrated for almost three days; she still hadn't come home to me, her husband. I always got drunk to lessen the pain and jealousy I'd been feeling for almost three days. Night fell, and I was in our living room drinking again while patiently waiting for her to come back.
A car horn caught my attention. The living room door suddenly swung open, and I saw Keyla standing there with Gael, who seemed to have just dropped her off.
My grip on the chair tightened, my knuckles white with tension, as I listened to their laughter. A bitter taste filled my mouth as I saw the way he looked at her, his eyes filled with adoration. Tangina talaga.
"See you when I see you around," he said as he winked at my wife, my wife just laughed at him. Tangina, nakakagigil.
"Where did you go? Where did you sleep? Who are you with?! Tangina naman, Keyla, sagutin mo ako!" halos manghina na ako habang nakatayo sa harapan niya.
I saw how her eyes wided in shock while looking at me,"Anong oras na, bakit ngayon ka lang?" I asked again. My breathing slowed, and my shoulders relaxed as I gazed out at my wife.
"Galit ka ba?" she asked innocently.
My eyes are narrowing I can feel the anger and jealousy on my body,"Saan. Ka. Galing." ulit kong tanong.
"Me? I was with Gael? do you have a problem with it?," she said not minding how angry i was.
"Gael?" matabang kung wika rito, her brow furrowed while looking at me with her fantasizing eyes."Why the hell do you sound so bitter?" mapait akong tumawa rito bago tumayo at nilapitan ang pwesto nito.
I looked at her with disbelief,"I fucking waited for you to come home for almost three fucking days, Keyla. and now your seriously asking me why i am fuming mad? Tangina." she rolled her eyes at me while slowly looking away from me.
"Aziel, you're really mad? ah wait...who are you again? Ah right, you're my? husband?" she chuckled knowing I am breaking inside.
I look up as I can feel the heat in my eyes."Keyla...why are you doing this? do you still...love me? or even care about how I felt?" halos manghina na ako habang nakatayo sa harapan niya.
She's my baby...how can I get mad at her? Tangina mahal ko siya.
"Who said I love you?" she laughed mockingly. "I never love you, and even if I could, I wouldn't..."
She looked at me full of hatred,"And why am I doing this? Really? You're asking me that? As far as I can remember—ikaw ang unang nang-gago sa ating dalawa. You fucked her in our bed. What did you expect me to feel? Na maging masaya? You're a fucking liar and a fucking cheater! I hate you to death, Aziel." namomou ang luha sa mga mata nito. I can see she tried to wipe it off.
I tried to compose myself as I remembered the pregnancy test I found in the nearby trash.
I know it's hers—my wife's. My baby. She's pregnant… she's carrying my other baby.
"You're pregnant?" I asked, my voice full of hope. I glanced at her flat stomach… hoping she was.
She looked at me, her lips forming into a smile. "I was pregnant last week. But now… not anymore," she answered coldly.
My knees went weak, my vision blurred, but I forced myself to stay strong."What do you mean?"
A cruel smile plastered itself on her gorgeous face.
"I aborted your baby. I killed it with the hands of its own mother. I killed it because it disgusted me, knowing it was your flesh and blood. I killed... your unborn child."
Tears streamed down my face as I looked at her. My chest tightened, and I could only fall to my knees from the overwhelming pain I was feeling, as if my heart were being torn apart.
No...not our baby.
"Does it hurt? You can make another one with her anyway. That child was nothing," she said cruelly, as if it weren't her own child.
This is not my Keyla… she's not my baby, she's not my Keyla.
My Keyla had a sharp tongue, but she had the biggest heart.
"Fuck… that child was ours. That unborn child is everything. And you killed it? Hate me if you want, but baby… I'm begging you, don't hurt our child. That child was the form of our love… that child is the result of our love. That child… is ours." my voice horse from crying, tangina ang sakit.
I held her hand desperately. I watched as her eyes went from cold to blank.
"You didn't, right? You didn't kill our baby?" my voice is full of pain, puno ng sakit ang boses ko.
She laughed mockingly. "Should I give you the fetus?" she asked me, as if it weren't hers too.
"Keyla…"
"Shut the fuck up… actually, I'm here to give you this," she said, handing me a paper. The paper I hated the most, because it would take away everything I had… divorce papers.
"I already signed it… all that's left is your signature," she continued."I'd love to have it tomorrow at exactly seven A.M…" She turned her back on me.
I was still on the floor, my hands trembling as I held the paper. It was already wet from my tears, which kept falling without end.
"Expect a gift from me." That was the last thing I heard. I wanted to stop her from leaving, but my knees wouldn't even move.
And with that, the door shut closed… as if it were closing permanently.
She abandoned me.
She did.
And just like that, the only person who was keeping me sane left me. Suddenly, the mansion felt too big—too empty—for me.
"I love you… wife," I murmured brokenly.
