Lilian stared at her son, her own heart aching at the depth of his desperation. She knew the consequences, but she loved her boy far too much to leave him broken in the dark. With a heavy, decisive breath, she stepped forward. Her own magic flared as she wrapped her hands around the remaining chains, shattering them one by one.
Silver's body dropped heavily onto the black floor. He let out a ragged breath, slowly pushing himself up onto his knees and rubbing his raw, bleeding wrists.
"Thank you, my love," he panted, offering her a weak grin.
"Yeah, yeah, save your sweet talk," Lilian sighed, shaking her head. "I am going to be fighting with your father for the next three decades because of this. Now stand up and stick close to me."
