Chapter 12 - Ancient Knowledge Part 1

In the very vast space beyond the world was a being named Yuichiro Suzumiya, who had floated there with a long black coat with his sleeves rolled up. He had all black clothing and boots on.

He sighed with total boredom as his black hair and a very amethyst colored eyes flowed with the empty space.

He floated around as the thought of Yuki's destructive energy alerted him.

Yuichiro: Abyssal Energy, one of, if not, the most destructive energy to have within a person. It's destructive capacity is beyond what anyone could imagine, to the degree it erases the impossible.

He had a pet–specifically a hellhound–which floated next to him as its fur bristles in the wind of empty space. It barks as it agrees with Yuichiro.

Yuichiro: Yeah. To be fair, even having 0.1% of that type of energy is already destructive to the body. Even Outer Gods are unable to wield such energy.

Umbryx barked with agreement as they both continued floated in space. Umbryx barks again, suggesting an idea about the energy.

Yuichiro: You really think it's absolute huh? Even if it is, I highly doubt it, nothing can be absolute. It's practically impossible.

It barks again, trying to speak, giving Yuichiro different ideas of what it thinks.

Yuichiro: Absolute destruction on a level beyond even the impossible? I doubt it. If it can truly annihilate the impossible, then it's going to have to be proven.

Umbryx barks again as he rubs his fur against Yuichiro's hand. It licks his hand as Yuichiro glances at his hellhound and chuckles.

Yuichiro: You know... that's quite a contradiction. Annihilating the impossible even total end is... weird, but philosophical.

Umbryx barks again, trying to say something as it catches Yuichiro's attention.

Yuichiro: it's a paradox? You could be right.. we did see it first hand when it destroyed the mountain ranges in the Luxuria realm. If we're being honest, it kind of just annihilated everything about the mountain ranges.

He glanced at Umbryx eyes as they both float there. Yuichiro scratches his head in confusion and groans in boredom.

Yuichiro: Come on... and yet, everyone can destroy mountains. In fact, it's even the easiest thing to do even as a low level mage. If we're being honest here, that still doesn't prove my point! So much thinking.. I hate it!

Umbryx nudges his arm, giving comfort to him as it lays on his lap while they float around space.

Yuichiro: Dammit.. if we're being honest here, even the Book of Creation, which yes is indestructible in the Narrative Space, wouldn't withstand it. Not even the space itself!

The hellhound wags its tail in interest as it pants like a regular dog. Yuichiro looks down as he pets Umbryx. It licks him gently as he giggled.

Yuichiro: So glad you're here. I kind of do somewhat understand it. Do you truly believe Yuki could have inherit that energy though?

Umbryx gave a little nudge as it climbs on him like any other dog. Yuichiro smiles as he pets his head and back. He sighs in relief, enjoying his time in this space.

Yuichiro: I can see you truly believe that Yuki does have this type of energy. I'll believe what you say Umbryx.

He kept licking him on the cheek. Though, Yuichiro was wondering about one thing. There were things he'd like to know answers to, but has no way of access.

Yuichiro: Oh, right, Umbryx. If Yuki actually does have this energy, hypothetically, if we compare Yuki and Miya Katagari, who you betting on?

It barks with a light and playful tone as it keeps clinging onto Yuichiro. He smiled at Umbryx as he kept gently petting him.

Yuichiro: I guess Yuki would win, although it depends if he could use it properly and even knows he wields it.

On Earth, Yuki had wandered around aimlessly with a very cold, and slow detached expression on his face. Of course he had faced off stronger magical beasts and also had protected others.

He sees a map stand that gives out world maps. Yuki then walked over to it in this unknown city, and glanced at one.

Yuki: Hey... can I purchase one of the world maps or at least see it...?

His question interested the cartographer as he held out the world map.

Cartographer: Of course! Here ya go lad!

Yuki took it and bought the map. He then walked away from the stand, looking at the map. It was a map of Earth, although it was only limited due to size. Nytherra—the lawless city—was on the right side of the map while other places like Star City on the top left of it.

He walked by a few stands and shops, but then noticed a blacksmith shop and sighed deeply. His exhausted and detached had shot the blacksmith a glance.

The blacksmith looked at Yuki with an uncomfortable expression as he walked over to him.

Yuki: I'll need a new sword... mine is snapped in half.

Blacksmith: Y-Yeah.. sure..

He stammered as he went over to make a sword with metals that isn't typically found anywhere in the world. Yuki stood there, watching the process of the making.

As hours gone by, the sword was finally finished. The blacksmith came back with the katana in his hand.

It was a katana of a long blade of a special material. It was completely made out of a type of metal known as Cyrosteel. The handle is very comfortable for a one and two handed sword.

Yuki: What kind of sword is this...?

Blacksmith: It's the Divine Extermination. A blade made with Cyrosteel in which can be used for both offense and defense. You can use it as a one-handed sword or a two-handed sword. It adjusts to whatever you see fit.

Yuki: Cyrosteel...?

His question lingered while the blacksmith glanced at his confusion and sighs deeply like he was tired of his job.

Blacksmith: it's a rare steel that is mainly used to create divine weaponry. These types of steels are extremely difficult to break. Now do you have any other questions? if not, then leave.

Yuki didn't flinch of his sudden demand to leave. He puts the map on the table as the blacksmith glanced at it.

Yuki: Can you explain to me...? about this map of course.

Blacksmith: It's just the world map. Nothing special. Although, it's limited. There's more than just this.

Yuki sighed deeply in disbelief as he leaves. He carried the map on him in his pocket as he wandered around the unknown city. He didn't expect someone to give him information that is nearly useless, but he still took it.

He walked by many citizens and sat down on a bench to take a look at the world map.

Yuki: Hmm... how big can this world truly be...

A person walked up to him. It was Yuichiro with his hellhound, Umbryx as he smiled.

Yuichiro: Much bigger, it's nearly impossible to tell what's even out there.

He said with a smile as Yuki glanced at him, not knowing who he is.

Yuki: Who are you...

Yuichiro: Yuichiro Suzumiya, you're Yuki Fujita. The one who's cursed by true immortality.

He was confused, but his face hadn't changed expressions. Yuichiro noticed this and chuckles as Umbryx then jumps onto his lap.

Yuki: ...What do you mean?

Umbryx's tail wags in excitement as it is laying on Yuki's lap. Yuichiro looked at Umbryx with a gentle smile. He was playful.

Yuichiro: You're immortal in every sense. You got cursed at 15 years old, which is your current age.

Yuki: ...The hell are you trying to say?

Yuichiro: I'm saying.. killing you is impossible regardless of how you get killed. Any method wouldn't truly work. I know much more about you than you think.

Yuki wasn't sure to trust him. It made sense to not trust somebody who walks up to you randomly. Yuichiro could sense his energy and presence which felt dark and intoxicating.

Yuichiro: So... my hellhound pet is correct.. he does wield the Abyssal Energy.. how scary!

His thoughts were in shock for a bit as Yuki tries to process everything.

Yuki: Who the hell are you actually...?

Yuichiro: I'm just a nigh-omniscient god. Trust me on this, I'll let you figure out everything on your own. I can't alway direct you. Anyways, got to head out.

He stood up as Yuki couldn't process everything. Yuichiro and Umbryx left ad his tail continued wagging. It was friendly to Yuki, and had no intention of attacking.

Yuki was left alone, unsure about the truth of his curse and what had been happening in his life.

He sat there in silence as he sighs deeply in confusion. Yuki tries to process everything, but all that negativity he built up had already convinced him it wasn't true.

He was doubting Yuichiro, and believed he was wrong, but yet part of him thinks he is correct about knowing him more than he knew himself.

That was when he had an idea, and that was to head to some library to find answers.
