I woke up at the sudden sound of construction work at the road outside the estate. I groaned and picked up a ciggerate from the nightstand
"Mother!.." I called out but no response came. With a sigh, i stood up and went out to check out from window. Noise, the freaking noise annoying and pissing me off each more second. Before i could react the door of my room Opened
"Alex?" My mother entered the room, " you have been smoking already? Hush,put that aside and eat something healthy , boy" she plucked the ciggerate out of my hand and handed me the some kind of paste she made
"Doctor's said using this paste as your toothpaste can help in making your heart healthy and lungs fresh. Put it in bathroom and use it today, no excuses" she said.
I nodded and said " sure will, you and your doctor's. Never ending herb and recipes. Now will ya tell me , who the fuck allowed those Motherfuckers to make that annoying sound ,eh?"
Mother expression hardens and she swats away my arm "boy, language!. Now go and freshen up, we will eat dinner as fast as possible. Your manager called me and you have a upcoming role in that romantic show of yours. Go quick and freshen up"
I rolls up my eyes at her attentiveness but ultimately went to bathroom to freshen up. After a while and quick shower , i went downstairs for breakfast. My mother serving dinner to my elder sisters. I took my seat and picked my plate
"Did you waheed your hands?" Mother asked to whom i frowns and says "I am thirty, not thirteen. Stop treating me like child, mother I am old enough to know better"
My elder sister, mimi chuckles and says "well alex, perhaps mother can never stp being mother. Nothing wrong with it, though"
I shrugged off "like bro, I am 30 year old. It's fucking embarrassing to be treated like child. I am going to work" i stood up and picked my car keys "I will be back late. I have this party after shoot. So yeah, don't wait up"
Mother called out "alex, atleast eat breakfast. You just took one omelette. That's barely enough", yet i ignored her and exits the house.
At shoot, i calmly scroll through videos, as I noticed a E mail stating I have been invited to House of fame. "What is it?" I thought and called out my assistant "hey, lisa. Did you checked out this TV show house of fame. What's like it's story? Eh?"
Lisa reads the email and explains that it is reality show lasting 3 months at max. I laughed and responded "yeah, and we will spend those three months without social media or anything . I ain't that fucking crazy."
Lisa responses "show will start in like 2 months time. Winner get's 10 million"
The money caught my eye and i suddenly paused and actually gaves thought. I barely make a million per year by acting in serials. But ten million for just three months sounds amazing. Plus the salary we will get eventually just for staying longer.
"Agree" i said immediately, freezing lisa who looks at me with shock before nodding and agreeing "yes,I will send them email , confirming your participation"
Later at home
"No, absolutely not!. You are not give any where. You can't even make simple tea. How will you do chores and tasks. And who cares about money. We already makes more in year then necessary" mother said to me
"Mother you should trust me. It would be new experience" i insisted
"New experience? I mean you can have new experiences with us around. We could go fishing. We will do even do play video games or anything you say" her voice trembled with emotion.
"Mother ,let him do what he desires. You can't always keep him in your arms" mimi said , supporting my decision.
Mother expression softens and she nodded "it's just difficult to accept him going. If he desires ,he should go. But only if he promises to have dinner with us for the remaining two months before he leaves"
I smiled and said "sure , if that's what you want. Just say it mother"
