The woman extended the envelope with trembling hands. Her black hair was perfectly combed back, and she wore an elegant black suit that seemed far too formal for the dark alley where they stood. Her eyes avoided looking directly at Thomas.
"A-here is the payment for the week," she said in an uncertain voice.
Thomas took the envelope and weighed it lightly in his hand before opening it. He checked the money quickly and then closed it again.
"Good."
The woman let out a small sigh of relief. Thomas slipped the envelope inside his jacket.
"Get a bank card as soon as possible," he said calmly. "Next time I want online deposits. I don't have time for these deliveries."
The woman nodded quickly.
"Yes… yes, I'm already in the process. I'm sorry."
Thomas looked at her indifferently.
"You can go now."
The woman raised her gaze nervously.
"Is that all?"
"I don't need you for anything else."
