Joji, Daisy, and Lena were back on the road by then.
Daisy had gone to sleep with her head resting on Joji's legs, wholly untroubled, as if the world itself could do no harm while she lay there.
Her plan had been plain enough. When they returned home, she meant to spend the night in his arms, and so she was gathering her strength now while she could.
Lena, meanwhile, drove the donkey along with a low whistle on her lips.
"Lena... you know you got to use magic, or aura, if you're tryna not get knocked up, right?" Joji said.
At once, Lena flared both aura and mana across her body.
Joji fell silent.
A wicked grin spread across her face.
"Yo," Lena said, sneering sideways at him, "this bitch is getting laid."
Joji could only look at her. And thinking on it, he had the sudden sense that this might be exactly the sort of moment that drew the eye of the Risqué Sir.
Joji took a deep breath and chose to accept a mission from the Risqué Sir.
Sure enough, he came once again.
