Chapter 173 - Chapter 102.5

The Black Knight stood in the center of the deck, his sword still raised, his presence commanding attention. The soldiers around him cheered, their voices rising in a chorus of hope and devotion. But then, an arrow flying at high speed came his way.

It shot through the air a streak of dark wood, a flash of steel, a whisper of death aimed directly at his heart. The soldiers screamed a warning, but he did not need it. He turned and then using his sword, he splashed it into two, the halves clattering against the deck.

He shouted out loud, his voice cutting through the chaos.

"ENEMIES OF THE GREAT BRITAIN EMPIRE!"

His voice echoed across the water.

"COME OUT OF HIDING!"

As he said that, he brought out his second weapon his long spear.

The shaft was long, the blade sharp, the weight balanced. He held it in his hand, feeling its familiarity, its purpose. He raised it above his head and threw his spear at one of the destroyed vessels that was there.

The spear was propelled with such force that it caused a great explosion that destroyed the entire vessel, turning it to dust. The wood shattered, the bodies scattered, the sea boiled. Then the spear stood on the water, its shaft upright, its blade gleaming.

He jumped down at high speed and grabbed the spear.

His body launched from the deck soaring through the air, cutting through the rain, descending toward the water. His fingers wrapped around the shaft, pulling it free, raising it high. He then rushed all the way to a second vessel.

He said, his voice carrying across the water.

"You should hide really well, you know."

He smiled beneath his mask.

"I have eyes where not even humans could be."

He threw the spear at the ship.

CRASH!

The entire back of the ship was destroyed completely the wood shattering, the bodies scattering, the sea boiling. The soldiers on the other ships watched in awe, their hearts filled with hope and wonder.

Darlington said to him, his voice echoing in his mind.

"How nice of you to boast about me in such a way." A pause. "Just make sure to not miss and kill the enemy very well."

His voice hardened.

"Do not even attempt to delay the battle or hold back." A pause. "It is of utmost importance."

Gareth smiled.

"There's no problem with that." His voice was calm, certain, absolute. "All of them shall die today."

His spear pierced the hand of an enemy that was hidden in the second vessel.

SHLIK!

The blade cut through flesh, splintered bone, and pinned the man to the wood. The enemy was then forced to reveal himself his body convulsing, his face twisted in pain, his blood pouring across the deck.

Two of his comrades came out of hiding with him.

Both of them were dark-skinned, wearing hats made of feathers and carrying arrows. They wore skirts made out of turtle shell and feathers, their bodies adorned with tattoos and paint. They moved with the grace of hunters, the skill of warriors, the cunning of assassins.

Darlington smiled.

"That man with the X face is quite competent." He paused. "Getting Aztec warriors of the sea to support him."

His voice hardened.

"Well, it doesn't matter." He paused. "Kill the three of them."

He smiled.

"Gareth with that, we will force all of them from hiding."

Gareth said, his voice filled with pleasure.

"With pleasure."

The reflection of his enemy was on his black mask a distorted image of fear and desperation. He rushed immediately to the one who was injured, ready to stab the spear into his face.

in the space between the charge and the impact, between the enemy's fear and the warrior's resolve.

Gareth raised his spear.

The Aztec warriors raised their arrows.

And the sea roared.
