Chapter 106 - Chen Ye's Defensive Stance

Steve stared at Chen Ye, a challenging glint in his eyes. He wanted to see if this boastful young man truly possessed the strength to match him.

Without hesitation, he swung his shield and hurled it at Chen Ye.

Unfazed, Chen Ye extended his right hand, effortlessly using magnetism to pull the shield into his grasp. He examined the legendary Vibranium shield, silently admiring its texture and beauty.

Knowing Vibranium was incredibly valuable, Chen Ye resolved to take it. He handed the shield to Tony and casually said, "Keep a close eye on this for me. I'll deal with these people."

Tony took the shield, inwardly rolling his eyes at Chen Ye's insatiable curiosity. But as he examined the shield, his eyes widened.

"Wait, this isn't steel... it looks like rare Vibranium," Tony marveled.

He realized that if he could integrate this shield into his armor, it might significantly enhance its capabilities.

Tony gazed at the shield in his hand, his eyes gleaming with desire. As for whether S.H.I.E.L.D. would take it from him, he wasn't worried at all. After all, there was Chen Ye.

At that moment, Chen Ye turned to Steve with a playful smirk. He had heard the rumors about Captain America being evenly matched against anyone, and he was curious to see if they were true.

He glanced at Hawkeye and the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents beside him and said contemptuously, "Since Captain America is fighting for S.H.I.E.L.D., you might as well join in. Otherwise, I fear you won't get another chance."

Before the words had even faded, Chen Ye had already vanished from his spot, leaving the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents staring at each other in stunned silence.

Then, a thunderous impact shook the air. To their horror, they saw Captain America already knocked to the ground by a single blow from Chen Ye.

The force of the strike was astonishing. Steve struggled to rise, but his body felt unnaturally heavy, as if an invisible hand were pressing him down with crushing force. A flicker of shock and resentment crossed his eyes. *How could this Chen Ye be so strong?!*

Steve felt an overwhelming sense of humiliation. As a World War II veteran who had faced countless life-or-death trials, he never imagined he would be so easily defeated.

Yet his will remained stubbornly resilient. Though his body refused to move, he gritted his teeth and strained with every ounce of strength to stand up.

Meanwhile, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents sprang into action.

Hawkeye, Natasha, and others swiftly launched their assault on Chen Ye. Their movements were swift and decisive, the marks of highly trained warriors.

Combat aircraft and tanks stood ready, their engines roaring like beasts as they opened fire on Chen Ye's position.

For a moment, the sky and ground were engulfed in a fiery storm. Shells and bullets streaked through the air in blazing trajectories, converging on Chen Ye like a meteor shower. Such overwhelming firepower should have instilled terror in any enemy.

Yet Chen Ye showed no fear in the face of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s full-scale assault.

Confidence and resolve burned in his eyes, as if everything were under his control.

He spread his arms, and the incoming shells and bullets froze in mid-air, their momentum halted. This sight left Captain America, still pinned to the ground, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in a state of stunned despair.

They couldn't believe their eyes, nor could they comprehend how Chen Ye possessed such immense power. Chen Ye merely smiled at them and said, "You're all too enthusiastic, even bringing me such a grand gift. But I don't really like it, so I'll return it to you."

With a wave of Chen Ye's hand, the halted bombs and bullets were suddenly driven by magnetic force, reversing their trajectory and hurtling back toward their original sources.

The scene was as miraculous as magic, leaving everyone present dumbfounded.

Then, explosions erupted in rapid succession, and countless agents who reacted too slowly were struck by their own bullets.

Some died instantly, while others suffered severe injuries. Even the tanks and helicopters weren't spared, proving utterly vulnerable under Chen Ye's power.

The entire scene instantly transformed into a hellish spectacle, with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s elite agents suffering devastating losses in this sudden counterattack.

The air filled with the stench of gunpowder and dust, and the ground became a desolate canvas of bloodstains and wreckage.

Captain America lay on the ground, staring at the scene before him, his heart filled with despair.

Chen Ye slowly approached Captain America, who was pinned down by his gravity-manipulating ability. A hint of helplessness and mockery flickered in his eyes.

"Look how many people died because you refused to hand over the Winter Soldier's body," Chen Ye said.

Captain America glared at Chen Ye, his eyes burning with fury and resentment.

If looks could kill, Chen Ye would have been dead several times over by now.

Yet Chen Ye didn't flinch. He met Captain America's gaze and continued, "Don't look at me like that. I was just defending myself. You're making me sound like the villain here."

Chen Ye hadn't actually done anything wrong. The people had been killed by his own bullets.

*If someone tries to kill you, are you supposed to just lie down and take it? Let them bury you in a hole?*

Captain America gritted his teeth. "Why did you have to take Bucky's body?" His voice was thick with anguish and confusion.

This question had haunted him from the beginning, and he still had no answer.

Chen Ye was astonished to hear this. *No one told Captain America about Bucky?*

He glanced at Tony, who was sitting on the ground, looking dazed, then simply explained that Bucky had murdered Tony's parents.

"Impossible! Bucky wouldn't do something like that!"

Hearing about Bucky, Captain America felt disbelief and fury. In his eyes, Bucky could never be such a person. He believed Chen Ye was lying to him and slandering his friend.

"That's the story. Believe it or don't," Chen Ye said, levitating Captain America with Chaos Magic.

Chen Ye didn't care whether Captain America believed him or not. The man was too kind, too much of a saint. He saw the world through rose-tinted glasses. Even after a century of life, Captain America remained so naive, as if he'd never been beaten down by society.

Chen Ye called Tony to join him as they walked toward S.H.I.E.L.D.'s office building. He was taking Tony to find Nick Fury to demand the Space Stone and the Winter Soldier's body. Just in case, Chen Ye brought Captain America along; he could use him as a bargaining chip if necessary.
