Leaving the café side by side, Kyle asked the woman beside him, "I was thinking of hunting a few nightmares tonight. What spot should I pick?"
He believed that no matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't go completely off the grid while using Genesis. So why not ask the one person most likely to be monitoring the entire city?
Veronica paused for a moment before asking, "Why...are you so insistent on hunting nightmares?"
Kyle shrugged. "Just...no reason."
He didn't know how much he could reveal to her. He wasn't even sure if she knew that he had experienced an unnatural awakening a few days ago and wanted to test his powers. Not to mention, letting her know about Ethara and the reward she had offered was definitely not an option.
Veronica simply stared at him for a few seconds before speaking again. "Do you want me...to accompany you?"
Kyle hummed in surprise. "Are you sure about that? Don't you have work to handle?"
Veronica didn't respond to that since what he said was true.
