"You... just read files for a whole month?" Kyle asked, staring at her in disbelief. "Just read?"

"My first experience near a rift was almost two months after I joined. And even then, it was only a fourth-grade rift, which I cleared alongside Ethan and Hannah."

"My first rift experience came two weeks after I joined the corps. It was a fourth-grade rift too, but I wasn't even allowed to participate. I was told to stay on the sidelines, observe, and write down anything I found noteworthy."
