Chapter 1 - chapter 1:wendy

"Ugh, my head," Wendy groaned as she held her head and rubbed her temples with a pained expression.

After a moment, her eyes widened slightly as she felt a cold chill beneath her. Glancing around, she realized she was lying on a hard, cold floor. Quickly scanning the unfamiliar environment, her eyebrows raised and her jaw dropped in surprise.

"Wait, wait, wait—what's going on? Wasn't I blown to pieces when the plane exploded? How come I'm here now?" Wendy muttered, her expression dazed as confusion enveloped her mind.

She vividly remembered her private jet exploding and was certain she had died. So why was she suddenly here? Wendy struggled to make sense of the situation.

Suddenly, an intense and excruciating pain shot through her brain. Her face turned as white as a sheet of paper, and tiny beads of sweat dripped down her forehead.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Wendy was in agony, clutching her head and rolling on the ground, screaming at the top of her lungs. It felt like a swarm of ants was attacking her brain, as huge and unfamiliar information was forcefully injected into her mind.

She didn't want to see this information—she just wanted the pain to stop.

After five to ten minutes, the pain finally subsided.

"Huff… huff… huff…"

Gasping for air, Wendy lay on the cold ground, drenched in sweat. Her face, once contorted in pain, now looked pale but calm.

She wondered what had caused the sudden assault and tried to get up, only to be struck by another wave of agony coursing through her body.

"F**k, what the hell!" Wendy cursed under her breath as she took deep breaths, trying to stabilize herself.

Eventually, she managed to sit up and lean against a nearby wall, still catching her breath. The pain she had just endured was unlike anything she had ever felt before. It felt as if she had barely survived a disaster.

Even though the pain in her brain had subsided, her body still ached terribly. Sweat continued to pour down her face.

Suddenly, Wendy felt something strange tugging at her soul. Her expression turned odd—she had never experienced anything like this before. Slowly, she closed her eyes.

A few moments later, her eyes snapped open.

Fear, shock, happiness, and countless mixed emotions brewed violently within them. Her jaw dropped, her eyes widened, and she sat rooted to the spot—bewildered, dumbfounded, and utterly confused. Then, her expression changed drastically.

"Where am I? Why am I here? What's going on?" Wendy asked three questions in a row, but unfortunately, there was no one there to answer her.

"Have I been reborn in another world?" Wendy took a deep breath as this thought crossed her mind.

Yes, that was the conclusion she came to.

What had just happened to her felt exactly like rebirth—what people usually called transmigration. Wendy's soul had traveled from another world into this new one.

Wendy came from a completely different world called Earth.

----------<.>----------

On Earth, Wendy was an orphan.

She had been found at the doorstep of an orphanage, wrapped in a blanket, with only a short letter containing her first name: Wendy. Since she didn't have a surname, the dean of the orphanage gave her the surname Mayura.

In the orphanage, children were assigned surnames by lottery. Since Wendy drew the letter M, she was given the surname Mayura.

During her childhood, Wendy was found to be exceptionally smart for her age. She learned to speak at just one year old and started recognizing characters at the age of two. She could pick up almost anything and learn it with extreme ease.

While other children her age were busy playing in the mud or hiding during games of hide-and-seek, Wendy was already absorbing elementary-level knowledge.

Due to her high intelligence, she was often picked on by the other children at the orphanage.

The dean and caretakers constantly compared the other kids to Wendy, which made everyone unhappy. No one wanted to play with her, so she was often left alone in a corner.

Sometimes this made her feel sad and lonely, but as time passed, she gradually came to accept that reality.

Despite the bullying, Wendy started school at the age of three and consistently ranked at the top of her class. She excelled in every exam, won competitions, and eventually became a small local celebrity.

Male students even gave her the nickname Ice Beauty, and the reason was obvious.

As she grew older, her beauty also blossomed. Many tried to confess to her, only to be coldly rejected.

To Wendy, things like confessions were a waste of time and utterly boring.

However, that attitude made her an outcast among female students.

She became a common subject of nagging, as parents used her as an example to scold their own children. This made it difficult for Wendy to form genuine friendships with other girls.

Most of the female students either avoided her or picked on her. As time passed, some even began actively bullying her.

Due to the relentless bullying, Wendy learned several clever techniques and defensive skills to protect herself. With her high IQ, mastering these techniques came easily.

As a result, she was able to stand up to her bullies and even outsmart them using a few tricks.

Once, when some bullies tried to stalk her, Wendy cleverly lured them into a confrontation with street thugs and escaped unnoticed.

The bullies were arrested and later expelled from the college.

Wendy was always the first choice for adoption at the orphanage. However, she knew that most of those people only wanted to exploit her intelligence for their own selfish desires.

She rejected every adoption offer and eventually moved out of the orphanage when she was about to attend university in another city. She rented a small apartment, studied during the day, and worked part-time at night.

With her high IQ, Wendy completed a B.Tech degree at MIT and later studied a wide range of subjects, including marketing, mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, and philosophy.

Wendy was a monstrous brainiac—she could learn almost anything. She spoke twenty languages fluently, thanks to her incredible memory and comprehension.

Sometimes, her peers wondered what might have happened if she hadn't been an orphan.

Later, Wendy studied finance and began earning massive profits in the stock market using her foresight and intellect. By the age of nineteen, she had already become a millionaire, achieving financial freedom.

After completing her fourth year, she quickly founded her own software firm. Over time, she expanded her reach from technology into finance, culinary ventures, and investments.

She earned many titles.

Golden Nose, because her investments always brought fortune.

Tech Genius, because her software and technological ideas revolutionized entire industries.Ruthless Enemy, because as her fame grew, so did those who looked at her with greed, envy, and lust—and she destroyed every one of them without mercy, regardless of their status.

Eventually, her investment firm became one of the top Fortune 500 companies, and Wendy ranked among the youngest billionaires on the Forbes list.

Despite all her wealth and power, Wendy was always alone.

People stayed close to her only for what they could gain, not because they genuinely cared. She had no real friends and no one to talk to when she felt down.

She trusted no one but herself.

But fate had a funny way of throwing curveballs.

On June 29, 2037, Wendy was preparing for a business trip aboard her private jet.

Little did she know that her life was about to change forever.

While flying above the Atlantic Ocean, the plane suddenly shook violently. Before she could even ask the pilot what was happening, the aircraft exploded into a massive ball of fire, completely engulfing her.

She believed she had died.

Yet, to her shock, she woke up in an entirely different world.

It felt like rebirth—something she once thought existed only in novels.

Wendy occasionally read online novels during her rare free time, so she knew exactly what transmigration meant.

She simply never expected it to happen to her.
