"PRIDE... PULL BACK!"
I screamed as loud as I could.
I was still viewing the battlefield in a choreographic, written sense. I was in a cognitive state..So, I couldn't tell if my voice had reached my Wyvern or not.
I hoped it did. After all, if it fell on deaf ears, Pride was going to pay for it with a hefty price.
Through the Omniscient viewpoint I could feel how much fury Pride was carrying.
He must have been humiliated by these Drakes before. If not, I couldn't believe his hatred would run this deep.
Pride's dive toward the third Drake had been precise, confident ...exactly the kind of strike an apex predator makes when it believes it has the advantage. The flame breath had connected. The Drake had recoiled.
However, all of it was a blatant feint and pure acting.
Cunning bastards.
"PRIDE, DON'T... Trust me on this, pal!"
Was my voice truly reaching him?
To answer my question, Pride suddenly changed his trajectory and hit the ground within the shadow of the treeline.
He went through the shadow — and in the next second jumped out behind me through my own shadow.
Was that spatial walk or shadow walk?
[Loyalty: 60% → 58%]
What a jerk.
That's why they say — never help the arrogant.
In the meantime, all three Drakes opened their mouths simultaneously. Their breath glowed lava-red as they spat what could only be described as a combined flame breath — three columns of fire punching into the sky at once before dispersing, their debris raining down across the entire battlefield like meteors.
"Oh, you naughty little things!" Kaira grinned, grabbed her opponent by the tail, and used it as a baseball bat ... swinging it to fend off every meteor falling in her area.
Aldric, on the other hand, kept using Piercing Gale to dodge each falling impact.
However, what had seemed manageable a moment ago was quickly becoming complicated.
It seemed the Drakes had been feigning their speed as well. When they first revealed themselves they had been moving as slow as turtles — but now—
The Drake had caught up to Aldric with unbelievable speed and swung its tail into him. The impact sent him flying into a tree.
Blood smeared his lips.
In the entire battlefield, only one person was standing completely frozen.
Which was yours truly!
"Well, fuck me! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TURN THIS OMNISCIENT DRAFT ABILITY OFF!"
A meteor was falling at high speed directly toward where I was standing. I could also see the Drake we were supposed to handle charging straight at me with its mouth wide open.
However, Pride had spat fire after fire at the Drake while charging toward it himself.
The fire clearly did no damage to the fire Drake — it comfortably tore through the flames and immediately tried to bite down on Pride.
Pride, having anticipated the moment, thrashed his massive tail into the Drake and sent it stumbling back several steps.
Taking advantage of the chaos, the six-star Drake tore through the air and bit down on Pride's wing, then tried to slam a meteor strike directly into it. However, Pride jerked free and bit down on the six-star's neck instead.
[Countdown: 7:45]
No matter what happened across the battlefield, my situation remained the same.
Fortunately, before the meteor could tear through me entirely, a vine wrapped around my waist and yanked me toward its owner.
With a soft thud I landed against Timber, my Omniscient Draft fading immediately.
That moment I swore to myself that I will Never use that ability mid-battle again.
"Good job, buddy! You saved me! Huff... huff..."
[Stamina: 52%]
"Timber saves everybody!"
[Loyalty: 76% → 80%]
I had thought Timber couldn't be the MVP of this fight since his attacks had no effect on the Drakes. But damn — this guy was a genuine lifesaver.
I could still see him manipulating his vines to aid Pride, Aldric, and even Kaira simultaneously.
"COCK-A-DOODLE-DOOOOOO!!"
[Napoleon has used Rallying Cry!]
[All physical attributes increased by 25%]
[Fear resistance increased by 50%]
The third time Napoleon had used his ability.
"Keep at it, buddy! You're doing great!"
[Loyalty: 84% → 90%]
My rooster was pulling his weight as well. It was probably all possible because the Drakes were still hell-bent on Pride rather than any of us supporting from the sides.
Either way — I had watched enough.
"Time for some payback."
I clenched and released my hand, stood up with Timber's help, and dusted the dirt off myself.
My eyes swept the battlefield and stopped on Aldric, who was struggling to keep the six-star Juvenile Drake contained.
"Aldric! Aim for the fourteenth scale .. it's significantly damaged, wounded beyond repair for some reason. I believe that's the weakness you've been looking for!"
Aldric's eyes widened briefly. He gave me a sharp nod, his expression carrying something that could be read as renewed confidence.
"Kaira! Stop playing around — and definitely stop enjoying yourself — spin it around and throw it as far as you can before it uses another Meteor Strike!"
"Fufufu! My bad, Marfin! I truly should have done that sooner!"
Typical brute.
Anyway, my focus was now entirely on the Drake fighting Pride.
A Juvenile Seven-Star overwhelming a Juvenile Four-Star.
Such is the way of nature.
But I am an anomaly.
I had already begun accumulating gravity in my fist — compressing it, building pressure beneath the surface.
60 lbs... 70 lbs... 90 lbs... 120 lbs... 150 lbs.
[Stamina: 50%... 46%... 42%... 34%...]
"Pin it down, Pride!"
After several exchanges of struggling and clashing, Pride had finally pinned the Drake to the ground.
My compressed weight had already crossed 200 lbs by that point.
I had learned from the Hellhound battle that striking with my fist would likely generate enough impact to send the target flying. So instead I angled my hand vertically, fingers straightened, nails forward — concentrating all the pressure into a single point.
220 lbs... 240 lbs... 250 lbs....
[Stamina: 20%... 16%... 13%...]
When I was finally within reach I drove my hand into the Drake with 260 lbs of compressed gravity behind it.
— SPLASHHH!!
The rock-hard scale tore open instantly. My hand plunged directly through its face and drove inward until the creature lay completely lifeless.
