Hey lads
Been a while.
It took me a bit long to write this chapter, but I'm finally done.
Hope you all like it!
Start:
The air around Naruto shimmered with heat as he raised a single hand, fingers curling into a loose fist. The moment the referee declared the start of the battle, he wasted no time in setting the stage for what was to come.
With a slight smirk, he snapped his fingers.
A monstrous wave of fire erupted from his form, swirling upwards before splitting into three separate infernos. The battlefield roared with heat as the storm surged across the terrain, the towering flames creating impassable walls that carved the battlefield into distinct sections. The powerful gusts of heat sent sparks flying, forcing Furcas' peerage to react immediately.
Lord Furcas barked orders, his voice sharp. "Regroup! Do not let him separate us!"
But it was too late.
Naruto's firestorm had already divided them. Furcas and his queen found themselves isolated in one section. A group of bishops, rook, and a knight were pushed toward the far eastern side. And closest to Naruto, a team of warriors had been unwillingly grouped together—the Knight, a Rook, and five Pawns.
Now while he could have taken them all on, he wanted to enjoy the thrill of battle without having to end it so quickly.
And extremely strong he may be, but Naruto knew that if he allowed himself to be conceited and arrogant, to fight all of the peerage at once, he wouldn't be able to fight at his leisure and would be forced to fight them seriously.
Now just for good but temporary measures, he created sixty weak clones who immediately blitzed away towards the other two groups, ensuring that he could enjoy himself, even if for a little while.
The members of Lord Furcas's peerage were momentarily taken aback by the thirty clones that formed and sprinted away. Their eyes flickered with both wariness and resolve as they turned to face him. The momentary chaos of their forced separation faded, and the Knight—clad in darkened silver armor—gripped his sword tighter, his posture shifting into a battle-ready stance.
"Stick together!" the Knight ordered, his voice steady. "He may be strong, but we can overwhelm him if we fight as one!"
Naruto smiled. Good. Let's see how long you can keep up.
The first attack came from the Rook. A towering man with thick, reinforced armor, he lunged forward with surprising speed, his heavy gauntlets glowing with demonic energy. The ground beneath him cracked with the force of his charge, and he swung a devastating hammer strike aimed at Naruto's head.
Naruto barely moved, his body tilting just enough to let the hammer pass inches from his face. The air pressure alone sent dirt flying behind him, but he remained standing, completely unaffected.
Before the Rook could recover, Naruto twisted on his heel and slammed an open palm against the man's chest. The force sent him flying backward like a cannonball, crashing through a nearby boulder. The ground shook from the impact, but Naruto could already sense that the Rook was still alive and well.
They're tough. Good.
"Surround him!" the Knight shouted.
The five Pawns sprang into action, moving in perfect unison. One attacked from the front, his twin daggers flashing as he attempted to carve through Naruto's defenses, while another came from the left, launching a powerful kick aimed at his ribs. The remaining three coordinated from the rear, two forming a pincer while the last channeled magic from a distance, preparing a spell.
Naruto weaved between them effortlessly, shifting his weight at the perfect moments. The dagger-wielding Pawn's blades met empty air as Naruto twisted past him. The kick from the second Pawn was caught mid-motion, and before the attacker could react, Naruto tossed him over his shoulder, sending him crashing into the dirt.
The third and fourth Pawns pressed their attack, each striking from different angles. One aimed for his back while the other attempted to go for his legs, trying to throw him off balance. Naruto, without turning, thrust a foot backward, catching the approaching Pawn square in the stomach. The force sent the devil tumbling back, gasping for breath.
The final Pawn's spell released—a streaking lance of crimson energy, aimed directly for Naruto's blind spot.
But Naruto simply lifted a single finger. The moment the spell was within inches of him, the fire surrounding the battlefield reacted to his will, forming a miniature wall that absorbed the blast entirely. The energy fizzled out harmlessly, leaving the Pawn wide-eyed in disbelief.
In that split second of distraction, Naruto appeared in front of the magic caster in a blur of speed. His fist struck cleanly against the devil's chest, sending him flying backward, skidding across the rocky ground before coming to a stop.
The Knight had watched the entire exchange with narrowed eyes. He wasted no time hesitating. The moment Naruto dealt with his subordinates, the Knight moved, his sword glowing with demonic enchantments. With a burst of speed, he closed the distance, slashing at Naruto's side.
This time, Naruto didn't dodge.
Clang!
The blade hit something hard—too hard. The Knight's eyes widened as he realized Naruto had simply caught the sword between his fingers. He barely even looked like he was exerting effort.
"You're fast," Naruto admitted freely. "But you're too stiff. You telegraph your attacks."
The Knight growled and tried to pull his blade free, but Naruto tightened his grip, effortlessly holding the sword in place. Then, with a single flick of his wrist, he sent the Knight hurtling back, the force of the counter causing him to crash into one of his own Pawns.
The Rook, having recovered from his earlier impact, returned with a vengeance, his heavy gauntlets glowing even brighter as he unleashed a devastating ground slam.
Boom!
The sheer force of the impact sent a shockwave rippling outward, causing dust and debris to explode into the air. The ground cracked beneath their feet, leaving a crater where the attack landed.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then a voice came from within the dust cloud. "Not bad."
The air cleared, revealing Naruto standing atop a floating platform of flames, completely unharmed. The fire flickered beneath his feet like solid ground, holding him above the destruction below.
The Rook's eyes widened in disbelief. "What—?"
Naruto didn't let him finish. He shot forward like a comet, closing the distance between them in an instant. His fist met the Rook's stomach with a force that sent ripples through the very air. The towering devil let out a pained grunt before being sent flying once again, crashing into another stone formation.
The battlefield fell silent.
And Naruto patiently waited as the Knight, Rook, and five Pawns regrouped, breathing heavily. They had barely landed a proper hit, yet Naruto remained untouched, his stance as relaxed as it had been at the start.
He cracked his knuckles, his smirk widening slightly. "Come on. You wanted to overwhelm me, right? Show me what you've got."
Despite the overwhelming gap in power, the Knight steadied himself, raising his sword once more. He knew they couldn't afford to back down.
"Again!" he commanded.
And so, the battle continued.
Naruto allowed them to push forward, allowed them to throw everything they had at him. He evaded, countered, and outmaneuvered them at every turn—but never in a way that ended the fight too quickly. He was holding back, testing them, playing with them.
And then…
Naruto darted forward in a blur, his fist cocked back as he zeroed in on the knight. he reacted instantly, his glowing silver blade carving a sharp arc through the air toward his midsection. But Naruto twisted his body at the last moment, the sword narrowly missing him as he slammed his open palm into his armored shoulder.
The force sent him skidding across the ground, but before he could press the attack, the rook lunged from his right, his massive gauntlet-covered fists swinging like wrecking balls.
Naruto ducked under the first strike, feeling the rush of displaced air as the sheer force of the punch sent debris flying. The second fist followed immediately, but Naruto caught it with his palm, stopping the blow dead in its tracks. The rook's eyes widened in disbelief—he had put his full strength into that strike. Yet, Naruto didn't even flinch.
A cocky grin spread across the Phenex heir's face. "You're not half-bad," he admitted. "But I'm much stronger."
With a flick of his wrist, he twisted the rook's arm and hurled him into the air as if he weighed nothing. The rook crashed into a boulder, shattering it on impact, but barely had time to recover before Naruto was upon him again, launching a rapid flurry of kicks and punches that sent shockwaves through the ground with each blow.
After a good… ten punches? Fifteen maybe? Naruto backed away, admiring his handiwork without regard for everyone else.
Meanwhile, the five pawns regrouped, forming a semicircle around him. They weren't idle spectators; they were analyzing his movements, searching for an opening. The moment Naruto engaged with the rook, they struck in perfect sync.
One pawn, a spearman, lunged from behind, thrusting his enchanted spear toward Naruto's unprotected back. Another, a spellcaster, finished a rapid incantation, unleashing a spiraling arc of compressed wind magic meant to slice through his defenses. The remaining three pawns moved to restrict his movements—one reinforced the ground with an earthen barrier, while the last two circled around to flank him.
Naruto, however, even with his back turned to them, predicted it all in an instant.
He moved like flowing fire, pivoting to grab the shaft of the spear mid-thrust. With an effortless yank, he pulled the spearman forward, twisting his arm and redirecting the incoming wind blade straight into the unfortunate pawn's chest. The magical attack struck true, sending the spearman flying backward in a blur of blue light before he crashed, coughing violently, into the dirt.
Without missing a beat, Naruto kicked the spear free from his grip, sending it spinning through the air before catching it again with impossible ease.
He turned on his heel and launched it like a missile, its speed breaking the sound barrier. The pawn who had been casting the earthen reinforcement barely had time to widen his eyes before the weapon slammed into his stomach, pinning him to the fortified ground like an insect caught in amber.
Blood spurted, the life rapidly fading away from the devil before it ultimately died.
The first casualty of the match.
The knight gritted his teeth, gripping his glowing silver blade tighter. "Stay together! We can still—"
His words barely left his mouth before Naruto moved.
In an instant, he was in front of the remaining pawns, weaving through them with terrifying efficiency. His movements were too fast, too fluid. One moment, he was standing still, and the next, his knee drove into a pawn's stomach, sending him crashing into a jagged rock with enough force to leave a dent.
The remaining three pawns adjusted quickly, attacking in unison. One came from the left with a war axe, another from the right with a pair of enchanted daggers, and the last aimed a barrage of high-speed fireballs at him from a distance.
Naruto ducked under the first axe swing, letting it sail over his head before he delivered a brutal elbow to the wielder's ribs, shattering bones instantly. The pawn gasped, dropping his weapon as Naruto spun, driving a kick into his chest that sent him flying across the battlefield, knocking him out cold.
The dagger-wielding pawn pressed in, slashing at Naruto in rapid succession. Sparks flew as the enchanted blades met Naruto's forearm, his skin barely scratched despite the deadly sharp edges. With a swift pivot, Naruto grabbed the pawn's wrist, twisted it with a sickening crack, and followed up with a palm strike that sent the devil sprawling into the dirt.
The final pawn let loose his fireballs, hoping to catch Naruto off-guard. But Naruto merely turned, flicking his hand lazily as a wave of his own golden fire swallowed the attacks whole. The flames dissipated, leaving the pawn exposed and wide-eyed.
Naruto appeared in front of him in an instant. No hesitation. His fist crashed into the pawn's chest, and the sickening crunch of ribs breaking echoed across the battlefield. The pawn barely had time to react before his vision went dark, his body slumping to the ground as unconsciousness took over.
The knight and rook weren't standing idle. As soon as Naruto turned from his last kill, they moved in tandem. The knight lunged with his blade, his speed very impressive even by devil standards, while the rook came in from the other side, his massive fists crackling with demonic energy.
Naruto smirked, sidestepping the knight's downward slash. He caught his wrist mid-swing, twisted it, and used the momentum to spin him into the path of the rook's incoming strike.
The massive gauntlet smashed into the knight's armor with a deafening clang, sending the poor knight skidding backward in a heap.
The rook's eyes widened in horror as he realized what he had done. That second of hesitation was all Naruto needed.
He stepped in and drove a fist straight into the rook's gut. The sheer force of the impact sent shockwaves through the ground, causing the earth beneath them to crack. The rook gasped, eyes bulging as he staggered back, his balance wavering.
Naruto didn't give him a chance to recover.
With a sharp step forward, he drove a brutal uppercut into the rook's chin, lifting him off the ground entirely. As the armored behemoth was launched into the air, Naruto followed, appearing above him in a blur before delivering a final devastating kick.
The rook's body rocketed toward the ground like a meteor, slamming into the rocky terrain with a thunderous crash. His body twitched once before going still.
Another one down.
Poor guy, Naruto felt kind of bad for the rook.
Yes he had been beating the shit out of all of them, but the rook had been taking even more of a beating than the rest.
Naruto scratched his cheek awkwardly.
The knight, recovering from the accidental attack he had taken, staggered to his feet, panting heavily. Blood trickled down his lip, his silver blade trembling slightly in his grip. He was the only one left.
Naruto dusted off his hands, his gaze steady. "If you surrender, I will spare you. I don't enjoy needless killing."
The knight's jaw clenched. He knew he couldn't win. he knew that Lord Phenex was toying with them. But he refused to back down. With a determined yell, he charged again.
Naruto sighed.
He swung wide, his enchanted sword glowing with everything he had left. But Naruto stepped inside his guard, catching his wrist once more. Before he could react, he delivered a sharp palm strike to his ribs, knocking the air from his lungs.
The knight gasped, falling to his knees, his blade slipping from his grasp.
Naruto studied him for a moment before turning away. He wasn't interested in needlessly killing him. This fight was already over.
…
Sort of…
But then, just as he was about to move toward his next opponent— they arrived.
A sharp burst of magic energy split the battlefield as two figures descended from the sky, flanking the injured knight. Two bishops, their robes billowing as they hovered just above the ground, their hands glowing with intricate magic circles. Alongside them, two more pawns emerged from behind the flaming walls Naruto had created earlier, their expressions tense.
And that was what he meant, the second group, composed of the two pawns and bishops, were finally here after finally defeating his clones.
Although it wasn't the full group, the other remaining knight and rook, and the last pawn wasn't here, and considering that a clone just dispelled, it seemed like the group had split up, with some of them remaining behind to fight his clones.
And when it came to Lord Furcas and his Queen…
Naruto barely quelled a chuckle considering that he had dispatched most of the sixty clones on those two and only a few dispelled, it was safe to say that they were still preoccupied.
Naruto exhaled slowly, rolling his shoulders. "Well, that was good timing."
One of the bishops sneered. "You've had your fun, Lord Phenex. But that ends now."
The air grew thick with magic as the bishops extended their hands. A wave of glowing sigils formed in the air, crackling with raw power. One bishop conjured a massive spear of ice, the tip gleaming with lethal intent, while the other summoned dozens of enchanted arrows, each one radiating pure destruction.
The two new pawns wasted no time either. One conjured a barrier, reinforcing the defenses of the remaining knight, while the other pulled out a long halberd, shifting into a stance that indicated he was waiting for an opening.
Naruto's smirk widened. "Finally, something interesting."
And then, all at once, they attacked.
The bishop launched his ice spear at blinding speeds, while the other fired his deadly barrage of magic arrows. The halberd-wielding pawn dashed forward, using the ranged attacks as cover, aiming a precise thrust toward Naruto's chest.
Naruto moved.
In a blur of motion, he sidestepped the spear, his body twisting gracefully as the ice projectile barely missed him. The moment it passed, he caught one of the incoming arrows between his fingers, twirling it in his grip before sending it right back toward the bishop who fired it.
The bishop barely had time to widen his eyes before his own spell struck him square in the shoulder, sending him tumbling backward with a pained cry.
The halberd pawn saw his opening and lunged, his weapon aimed to pierce straight through Naruto's ribs.
But Naruto simply caught the halberd's shaft with one hand.
The pawn's face twisted in shock. He tried to pull back, but Naruto yanked the weapon forward, dragging the devil toward him. Before the pawn could react, Naruto's knee met his stomach with crushing force.
The pawn coughed violently, blood splattering from his mouth, but Naruto wasn't done. He let go of the halberd, grabbed the pawn's head, and slammed him into the dirt with enough force to leave a crater.
One more down.
The remaining fighters didn't falter. They pressed forward, unleashing another wave of attacks. The second bishop, gritting his teeth, raised both hands and conjured a massive magic circle above Naruto, preparing to drop an explosion of pure destruction.
The wounded bishop recovered quickly, reinforcing his companion's spell with his own.
Naruto looked up as the growing sphere of condensed energy shimmered ominously above him.
The massive sphere of condensed destruction magic pulsed above Naruto, glowing brighter as both bishops poured their power into it. The battlefield trembled under the weight of its energy, arcs of volatile magic crackling against the air.
"Die here, Lord Phenex!" one of the bishops roared, hurling the cataclysmic spell downward.
Naruto didn't move. Not yet.
The air pressure shifted violently, and the moment the attack descended upon him, Naruto exhaled sharply, his golden flames surging.
With a mere flick of his wrist, the massive firestorm roared to life, spiraling around him like a living inferno. The instant the magic sphere touched the flames, a deafening boom echoed across the battlefield as the entire spell was consumed in his fire.
The bishops barely had time to react before Naruto launched himself forward like a missile.
His right fist glowed white-hot as he closed the distance in an instant, his body a blur of motion. One bishop barely managed to raise a magical barrier, but it was meaningless.
Naruto's fist shattered through the barrier like glass, his knuckles slamming into the bishop's chest with bone-crunching force.
Crack!
The bishop let out a choked gasp as his ribs caved in, his body rocketing backward before slamming into a boulder with a sickening crunch. He lay still, twitching slightly but no longer a threat.
Naruto turned toward the remaining bishop, who was already forming another incantation. He scowled, preparing to finish him too—
But then his senses flared.
Naruto spun in time to see one of the few standing pawns—one who had been keeping his distance—kneeling with an ornate vial, the Phenex tears, in his hands as he used and poured it on a fellow member.
Naruto's eyes narrowed dangerously.
Yet he didn't act, controlling his rapidly growing anger as he silently waited for the pawn to continue his action with the rest of his team.
The fallen warriors, the injured knight, the bruised pawns, the unconscious rook—all of them, their wounds closed instantly. Bones snapped back into place, broken limbs healed in seconds, and the moment their strength returned, they stood once more.
The Rook cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders. The Knight clenched his fists, his injuries completely gone. The pawns who had been barely breathing before now stood tall, eyes filled with renewed determination.
It was as if Naruto's efforts had been erased.
For the first time in the battle, Naruto's smirk vanished.
His blue eyes darkened, and a low growl rumbled in his throat. He had expected a challenge. He had expected persistence.
But this? This was an insult.
A slap in the face.
Using the priceless heritage and ability of his own clan?
Narutoslowly turned his gaze toward the healing pawn, his body eerily still. The pawn, now finished, looked up—only to meet Naruto's piercing glare.
The look of a predator.
Fear flickered in the pawn's eyes as Naruto vanished.
A gust of wind howled as Naruto reappeared right in front of him, his hand wrapped around the pawn's throat.
The devil gasped, choking, struggling, but Naruto's grip tightened. His flames curled around his arm, burning hot but controlled.
"I can't remember the last time I endured an insult such as this." Naruto muttered darkly. "You think you can get away with using the tears of my people? Without any consequences?"
Too angry to bother hearing a reply, Naruto clenched his hand, and then—he crushed the pawn's throat.
The devil's eyes bulged as he struggled, a strangled gasp escaping his lips. His fingers clawed at Naruto's arm, but there was no mercy.
Naruto tightened his grip one final time—then twisted.
Snap.
The pawn's lifeless body fell limp, and Naruto tossed him aside like garbage.
The battlefield fell silent.
The knight and rook, the pawns, and bishops, all of them, now fully healed, froze. The bishops hesitated, their fingers twitching mid-spell.
Naruto exhaled sharply, his anger not yet satisfied. He turned his gaze toward the newly revived rook—the one who had already tasted defeat once.
And now, it was his turn.
Naruto moved.
The rook barely had time to react before Naruto's foot slammed into his chest, sending him flying backward. His massive frame skidded across the dirt, tearing trenches into the battlefield.
Naruto didn't let him breathe. He was already on him.
The rook swung wildly, his massive gauntlet charged with demonic energy, but Naruto sidestepped effortlessly.
Then, with brutal precision, he slammed his elbow straight into the rook's jaw.
Crack.
The sound of shattering bone echoed across the battlefield. The rook's head whipped back violently, and blood sprayed from his mouth.
But Naruto wasn't done.
His fist blurred forward, slamming into the rook's stomach with monstrous force. The sheer impact lifted the rook off the ground, his body convulsing from the shock.
Naruto grabbed his opponent by the throat, lifting him into the air. The rook struggled weakly, his massive arms flailing—but Naruto's grip was unyielding.
He stared into the rook's panicked eyes before muttering, "You should've stayed down."
Then he threw him.
No—he launched him.
The rook's body became a blur as he soared through the air like a missile. The force of the throw was inhuman, and when he finally crashed into the jagged remains of a broken cliff, the resulting impact was apocalyptic.
Boom.
A shockwave rippled through the battlefield, dust and rock exploding outward.
Naruto could already tell.
The rook was dead.
Now that was what? Three dead if he wasn't mistaken.
Two pawns and a rook.
And he wasn't finished.
Naruto turned toward one of the remaining pawns—a devil who had just watched his comrade be obliterated in seconds.
The pawn's face drained of color.
Naruto tilted his head, his voice eerily calm. "You're next."
The pawn panicked, throwing everything he had—a barrage of magical bolts, desperate, unrefined, uncoordinated.
Naruto walked through them.
Each attack fizzled against his body, the heat of his flames burning them away before they could even reach him. He didn't slow down, his pace steady, unbothered.
The pawn's hands trembled as he raised a defensive barrier.
Naruto didn't stop.
He reached forward and gripped the barrier with his bare hand—and then, in a display of pure brutality, he crushed it.
The magic shield shattered like fragile glass.
The pawn stumbled backward, eyes wide with horror.
Naruto's hand lashed out, fingers wrapping around the pawn's skull.
"Don't waste my time," Naruto muttered.
Then—he ignited.
The pawn's screams filled the battlefield as Naruto's flames consumed him from the inside out. His body burned to ashes within seconds, leaving behind nothing but embers floating in the air.
And that made four.
Naruto finally exhaled, rolling his shoulders.
He turned his gaze to the remaining warriors, his expression unreadable.
The knight, the bishops, the final pawn—they all hesitated.
The battlefield was eerily silent.
Then, a surge of movement—a ripple in the air.
A shadow passed over the ground, followed by the thunderous arrival of the rest of Furcas' peerage who had finished defeating his clones.
All of them were finally here, excluding the king and queen who were still preoccupied, and the four who he had killed.
Five pawns. One rook. Two knights, and Two bishops.
Whether it was due to anger or hope that their numbers increased, it seemed they become more bold.
Evident by how they descended upon him with even more ferocity.
Their combined auras roared to life, a surge of power and desperation filling the battlefield as they took their positions, eyes burning with renewed determination.
Naruto's gaze swept over them, his smirk widening slightly. "Well… this might be fun."
A tense beat of silence.
Then—they attacked all at once.
The rook made the first move.
A giant of a man, even larger than his dead counterpart, clad in obsidian armor that radiated pure defensive magic. He planted his foot into the ground, and the earth shook as cracks splintered outward.
A moment later, he charged forward, his fist coiling with pure kinetic energy before he unleashed a devastating punch aimed at Naruto's head.
Naruto didn't dodge.
Instead—he met it head-on.
Fist collided with fist, and the moment their knuckles connected—a shockwave erupted, tearing through the battlefield.
The force sent several of the pawns skidding backward, but Naruto stood firm, his feet unmoving. The rook's eyes widened in shock—his entire arm quivered from the impact, the force of Naruto's counter nearly cracking his gauntlet.
Naruto's smirk widened. "Not bad."
Then—he twisted, pivoted on his heel, and slammed a brutal elbow into the rook's ribs.
CRACK.
The impact folded the massive warrior in half, sending him flying across the battlefield like a meteor, crashing through a jagged rock formation with a thunderous boom.
But even as Naruto launched the rook away—the knights struck next.
One knight blurred forward—his enchanted rapier a streak of silver light, aiming directly for Naruto's exposed ribs.
At the same time—the second knight dashed in from the opposite direction, his broad saber coated in black lightning, arcing downward toward Naruto's shoulder.
Naruto twisted between them, moving with impossible precision. The rapier barely missed his side, while the saber's lightning-coated edge carved through empty air.
Naruto's hands snapped out in the same instant—
He caught the rapier-wielding knight's wrist, stopping the sword mid-motion—
Then—he drove his foot into the second knight's knee, buckling his stance.
The knight stumbled with a pained grunt, and before he could recover, Naruto slammed his forehead forward in a brutal headbutt.
CRACK.
The knight reeled back, blood spraying from his nose, his vision blurring from the sheer force.
But Naruto wasn't done.
Still gripping the rapier knight's wrist, he twisted sharply, disarming the devil in one clean motion before flipping the sword into his own grip.
Before the knight could react—Naruto drove the rapier forward, piercing clean through his opponent's shoulder.
The knight howled in agony, staggering backward as blood poured from the wound.
But there was no time to capitalize.
Because at that moment—the bishops unleashed their magic.
The first bishop raised both hands.
Dozens of floating magic circles appeared in the air, each one glowing with a deadly crimson hue. A heartbeat later, they fired simultaneously, unleashing a barrage of searing beams toward Naruto's position.
The second bishop, standing further back, raised his staff toward the sky—summoning a massive vortex of ice and wind, a blizzard of spears spiraling into existence before raining down upon Naruto.
A double-layered assault—an inescapable bombardment of pure magical devastation.
Naruto… grinned.
Instead of dodging—he raised his arms outward, and his golden flames erupted in response.
FWOOSH!
The moment the beams and ice spears touched his fire—they vanished.
The heat was so intense that the ice melted mid-air, turning into harmless steam before it could even reach him. The energy beams were swallowed whole, burned into nothingness before they could land.
The bishops' eyes widened in disbelief.
"Considering the beating I gave you both earlier, you should already know better." Naruto rolled his shoulders. "How unfortunate."
Then—he moved.
Like a living streak of fire, Naruto shot forward, bypassing the frontline warriors and closing the gap between himself and the first bishop in an instant.
The bishop barely had time to widen his eyes—before Naruto's palm slammed into his chest.
BOOM.
The sheer force lifted the bishop off the ground, his body rocketing backward like a ragdoll before he slammed into a crumbling pillar with shattering force.
The light in his eyes flickered, his mouth open in a silent gasp—before his body slumped lifelessly.
The first bishop was dead.
The remaining fighters hesitated.
The pawns, still circling around, exchanged nervous glances. The second bishop staggered backward, realizing he was now alone. The knights, still standing, gritted their teeth—determined, but shaken.
And then—
Naruto's eyes locked onto a certain pawn.
A smaller devil, wielding a pair of curved daggers, trembling as he gritted his teeth and charged.
Naruto exhaled through his nose.
Then—he vanished.
Before the pawn could react—Naruto reappeared in front of him, faster than the eye could track.
The pawn barely had time to react before Naruto's hand wrapped around his throat.
There was no struggle. No chance to fight back.
Naruto's fingers tightened.
The pawn let out a strangled gasp—his daggers clattering to the ground.
Naruto didn't speak. Didn't hesitate.
With a sharp twist—he snapped the devil's neck.
The pawn's body went limp instantly, the life leaving his eyes.
Naruto released him, letting the corpse crumple to the ground.
The battlefield was dead silent.
Now that was six dead.
Four pawns, a rook, and a bishop.
"Tell me…" Naruto slowly turned to face the rest of them, his gaze narrowing dangerously. "Do you still wish to test my patience?"
End.
Hope you all liked it.
I tried my best to make it enjoyable but I had to rewrite this a few times just to really make it awesome.
If you spot any discrepancies, ignore them as it's the result of me being rewriting the chapter three-four times unfortunately.
And that's all I have to say for now.
Take care lads.
Peace.
