Chapter 39
Facing the relentless assault from the revolting creature in front of him, Alex forced himself to calm down. He knew panicking wouldn't save him. If anything, it would only make things worse.
He locked his eyes onto the monster's body as he kept on dodging the creature's strikes. The thing was really a tough bastard. His last hit had barely done anything to the bastard except make it more furious.
"There has to be something. There's no way this thing is invincible, after all as mischievous as the system is, she won't just send me on my first fight against a powerful thing." He muttered under his breath while narrowly slipping past another swipe.
After several near death exchanges with the powerful fiend, Alex managed to notice something crucial. That was, whenever the creature attacked him, a layer of conspicuous black flesh on its grey chest seemed to open for a fraction of a second... Then sealed back shut again.
