Chapter 46
The sharp sound of the slap lingered in the air long after her palm had left his face. Alex's cheek had already turned a glaring shade of red. It was a good thing that he had braced himself in time, if not the slap would have hurt a lot more than now, but still the pain was so sharp. He winced, wondering whether her hands were actually made out of metal.
Nyx stood in front of him, with her hand slowly retracting. Her eyes which were usually calm and distant as a winter sea, now burned with a sharp intensity that could cut through steel.
"Do you have a death wish?" Her cold, icy voice rang out.
