Thawai: The Soul of Sorcery
Thawai is the essence of life — the soul, spirit, or life force — that sorcerers can manipulate. By harnessing Thawai, sorcerers can perform incredible feats, known as Thawai Techniques.
Characterization of Thawai
Thawai users' abilities are characterized by three main categories:
Tha (ꯊꯥ) – Barrier, Rituals, and Binding Vow
Focused on defense, control, and sealing.
Includes creating barriers, performing rituals, or enforcing magical contracts (Binding Vows).
Mi (ꯃꯤ) – Body Refinement
Enhances physical strength, speed, stamina, and overall combat ability.
Allows sorcerers to endure long battles or high-level Thawai usage.
Sana (ꯁꯅ) – Healing
Restores life, cures injuries, fatigue, poisons, or negative effects.
Extremely rare among sorcerers.
Classification of Thawai Techniques
Thawai Techniques are further categorized based on their origin:
Innate Technique
Non-inherent ability.
A sorcerer acquires it when they awaken or through unique experiences.
Cannot be passed down.
Example: A newly awakened sorcerer discovering their unique elemental control.
Extension Technique
Inherent ability tied to a family or the Thawai Society.
Passes down generations.
Can be taught to family members or chosen successors.
Example: Thangjam Lineage's Anti Gravity Systems.
The Three Realms
The world in Thawai Sorcery is divided into three realms:
Meeyoileipak – The Mortal Realm
Home of ordinary humans.
Sorcerers often act here to protect or investigate supernatural disturbances.
Thawaileipak – The Sorcery Land
The domain of sorcerers and Thawai society.
Where sorcerers train, study, and strengthen their Thawai techniques.
Lairois Leipak – The Land of Evil Embodiment
Realm of evil entities, Lairois, created from corrupted energy or evil embodiment.
Lairois serve as antagonistic forces or natural calamities for sorcerers to face.
This system explains the hierarchy, abilities, and philosophy behind Thawai Sorcery. It also sets a clear distinction between human sorcerers, mystical training lands, and the threats from the Lairois.
