Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: A Gentle Strom

Time seems to be moving even faster than Singapore's high-speed trains. Arindam and Bharsha's world now revolves around a new center—their adorable one-year-old son, "Ishan."

Toys are scattered all over the room, tiny smudged handprints decorate the living room walls, and the mornings are filled with the music of Ishan's laughter. Every day, the moment Arindam rings the doorbell after work, he hears a tiny, garbled voice from inside: "Baba!"

As soon as he enters, he drops his bag and swings the boy up into the air. Bharsha watches from a distance—capturing what she considers the most beautiful scene of her life.

One night, after tucking Ishan into bed, Bharsha stood quietly on the balcony. Arindam noticed a peculiar, tender smile on her face.

"What's on your mind?" he asked softly.

Bharsha smiled back. "I'm just thinking about how full our life is. But it seems... that fullness is about to grow even more."

Arindam raised an eyebrow. "I don't follow. Did you go to the doctor again today?"

Bharsha looked at him. The same spark from those old days by the window was now deeper and warmer. She slowly took his hand and placed it on her stomach.

"I think Ishan is going to have a playmate very soon."

Arindam's eyes widened. For a few seconds, the silence in the room felt like hours.

"Bharsha... are you serious?"

Bharsha nodded and laughed, tears of joy glistening in her eyes. "Yes, Arindam. Our family is about to get bigger."

Arindam was overwhelmed with joy, but Bharsha's next words left him completely stunned.

She whispered, "But the doctor told me... it's not just one this time. It's twins."

Silence.

Arindam suddenly pulled her into a very careful, protective embrace. "Are you sure? Twins?"

"Positive. Ishan is going to have two companions at once."

Arindam knelt down, looking toward Ishan's closed bedroom door. "My little family is turning into a whole football team!"

Bharsha laughed. "Then two seats by the window won't be enough anymore; we're going to need four."

Arindam took her hand and said, "No, the two of us will always sit side by side by the window. Our creations will grow right in front of us."

The room was filled with soft light and an ethereal sense of happiness. This wasn't just news of a new arrival; it was a living testament to their long struggle, the distances they traveled, and the promises they kept.

Bharsha whispered, "Do you know, Arindam? Love doesn't actually decrease when you share it; it multiplies."

Arindam pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Then our love has just increased manifold."

Outside, a light drizzle began to fall. The story that started with a tiny smile in a classroom had reached a brand new horizon.
