Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:Lucian

I lay in a field of soft grass, gazing at the endless sky and scattered stars above. A small smile formed on my face as I let out a quiet sigh.

"So boring… and so lonely…"

Ever since I became a Servant, tasked with protecting these worlds from invaders, life had become repetitive. Watch. Wait. Eliminate. Repeat.

I sat up and stretched, bones cracking pleasantly as I warmed up my body.

"Hm? Another one, huh… unlucky guy. He had to meet me."

I did a few side lunges, loosening my muscles before jumping high into the air. From above, I scanned the world below and quickly locked onto the foreign presence.

Found you.

"BOOM!"

I landed in front of the invader, dust erupting around us. As it slowly settled, the invader stared at me in shock.

I smiled brightly.

"Yo! Sorry, buddy. Invading a world without accepting the rules? That's a big no-no."

"Shit! How did you find me so fast?! I concealed myself perfectly!" the invader shouted, panic creeping into his voice.

I chuckled, my cheerful expression not changing—though my eyes sharpened.

"Well, I am a Servant of the Orders, after all. Now, let's make this simple. You can go back peacefully… or else."

The invader felt it—the pressure. Sweat formed on his forehead as he stepped back, gathering dark energy in his hand.

Without warning, a spear of shadow shot toward me.

I tilted my head slightly.

The spear missed.

In the next instant, I vanished from his sight.

Before he could react—

My fist connected with his face.

The air exploded.

His body shot backward like a meteor, crashing into a distant mountain. The peak shattered on impact.

I blinked.

"…Oops. Did I use too much force?"

I scratched my cheek.

"I wasn't even trying that hard…"

Using my vision, I checked the distance. The invader was completely buried in rubble. No energy. No movement.

"Alright then. That's done."

Just another day at work.

My stomach growled.

"Oh! Right. Food!"

I grinned and headed toward the nearby kingdom.

The city was lively. Adventurers walked the streets in armor and cloaks, weapons strapped to their backs. This world's power system revolved around skills, blessings, and curses. Interesting stuff.

But more importantly—

Food.

I entered a busy restaurant, the chatter of adventurers filling the air. A waiter guided me to a table.

"I'll take your best seller!" I said cheerfully.

My voice carried across the room. Several adventurers turned to look at me—probably wondering who this overly happy guy was.

"Very well. Our best dish is dragon meat. It costs five gold coins," the waiter said.

I nodded without hesitation.

Gold coins? No idea how much that was. But it sounded cool.

Some adventurers nearby exchanged glances. Smirks formed on their faces. They must have assumed I was wealthy.

Heh. Greedy, aren't we?

The dragon meat arrived shortly after. It looked incredible.

I cut a piece and took a bite.

My eyes widened slightly.

"Hmm. It's good… but it could use more flavor."

Still, I happily continued eating until the plate was empty.

After a while, the waiter returned.

"Sir, your total is fifteen gold coins, including the wine you ordered."

I tilted my head.

"Eh? But I don't have any gold coins."

The waiter froze.

"…What?"

Her expression darkened as she slammed her hand on the table.

"Are you planning to dine and dash? Because if you are… I can let those adventurers handle you."

The nearby adventurers cracked their knuckles.

I looked around at them.

Then I smiled.
