Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: The Ship of Promises Rises

Chapter 46: The Ship of Promises Rises

The descent through the ocean ended in a shimmer of light as Ren and Yamato's coated ship passed through the protective barrier of Fish-Man Island. The island was more peaceful than ever, glowing softly beneath the sea like a hidden jewel.

Ren's clones were still patrolling the perimeter, their golden forms flashing occasionally through coral forests and along outer currents. The region remained a red zone for slave traders, and several wrecked ships on the seabed served as silent warnings.

Yamato stepped onto the coral pavement and inhaled deeply. "It feels calmer than before," she said, looking around at the vibrant city. "Like the island can finally breathe."

Ren nodded slightly. "Peace enforced is still peace," he replied. "And anyone dumb enough to test it gets sent back floating."

"Rennnnnn!"

An excited voice echoed from above, high and bright like a bell. Ren looked up and saw Shirahoshi waving both hands enthusiastically as she approached with the royal family.

"Yoo, warrior princess!" Ren called back with a grin. "Long time no see."

Yamato froze for a second as she looked at the massive mermaid princess descending gracefully from a giant whale. Her eyes widened, practically sparkling.

"Sooo cute," Yamato blurted out without restraint.

Shirahoshi tilted her head innocently. "Eh?"

Ren chuckled softly. If Hancock carried the charm of a hot and mesmerizing empress, Shirahoshi possessed something entirely different. It was a pure, innocent sweetness that made you want to protect her at all costs.

Even Yamato, who had faced Kaido without trembling, looked utterly disarmed.

Queen Otohime stepped forward and bowed gracefully. "Welcome back, Ren."

King Neptune followed, his deep voice resonating warmly. "You really did it, Ren. I still can't believe it."

Before Ren could respond, Shirahoshi leaned forward and suddenly scooped him up in her hands. She laughed mischievously, eyes shining. "I'm stronger than when you left," she declared proudly, raising her chin high.

Ren's mouth twitched. This girl really needed a reality check.

His body began to grow instantly, expanding until he stood eye-to-eye with her at equal height. Yamato blinked in surprise as Ren adjusted his cloak at that new scale.

He reached forward and pinched Shirahoshi's cheeks gently, then ruffled her hair mercilessly. "You've got a long way to go, girl."

Shirahoshi puffed her cheeks in adorable annoyance. "Stupid Ren! Just you wait! I will be super strong!"

Her eyes shifted curiously to Yamato, and she lowered her head slightly to get a closer look. Carefully, she extended her enormous hand. "Hello, I'm Shirahoshi. Nice to meet you."

Yamato burst into laughter and grabbed her finger in an enthusiastic handshake. "I'm Yamato! You're amazing!"

Within minutes, they were chatting animatedly, laughing as if they had known each other for years. Ren watched them with quiet amusement.

Yamato, who had grown up imprisoned among the Beast Pirates, was childish, honest, and fiercely kind despite her hardships. She had fought Kaido repeatedly, endured starvation and isolation, yet never stopped dreaming of freedom.

Shirahoshi, trapped inside the Hard-Shell Tower for most of her life, had chosen kindness over hatred even after learning who killed her mother. Both were princesses once imprisoned by fear.

Now they stood laughing freely because of him.

Ren felt something settle firmly in his chest. His existence in this world mattered. Protecting them wasn't just a duty anymore; it was a promise.

Otohime and Neptune watched their daughter laugh so openly, exchanging stories with Yamato like a normal girl. Their expressions softened with relief.

Ren stepped closer to them. "Let them have fun. Tell me, has there been any issues while I wasn't around?"

Otohime smiled calmly. "Some CP agents tried to personally capture slaves, but your clones and Jinbe stopped them."

Neptune nodded firmly. "The moment they crossed into our waters, they were intercepted."

Ren laughed lightly. "Then it's fine." His gaze sharpened slightly. "You should announce to everyone that Fish-Man Island will be moving to the New World in a few weeks. Anyone who doesn't want to can leave in the meantime."

Neptune blinked. "That will be done." He hesitated. "Do you need help preparing for moving the island?"

"Nope," Ren replied casually. "If I wanted to, I could start now. But I have to go to the Grand Line first."

Otohime tilted her head. "Is there something you need? I can send Jinbe to retrieve it."

Ren grinned mischievously. "Will Jinbe be able to move Amazon Lily?"

Both Neptune and Otohime froze. "Th– this… you… you're going to move two islands at the same time?"

Neptune's trident trembled slightly. "Moving Fish-Man Island alone sounds impossible. Now you want to move two?"

Ren laughed. "Don't worry about that." He turned toward Shirahoshi. "Hey, Shirahoshi. You coming with me?"

Shirahoshi's eyes lit up like stars. "I can?"

Otohime smiled warmly. "With Ren around, even the World Government can't touch you."

Neptune nodded slowly. "Go. See the world you were denied."

"Yay!" Shirahoshi beamed. "Then I'll be coming with Ren!"

Yamato pumped her fist excitedly. "Adventure with best friend!"

The two princesses cheered together, their voices echoing through the plaza. Ren watched them with quiet fondness.

"Well then," Ren said calmly, "since Shirahoshi is coming… it's time for the Ship of Promises to move."

Neptune's eyes widened. "Yo– you're going to move Noah?"

"Of course," Ren replied. "Shirahoshi needs a ship that can hold her. And what better than Noah?"

Otohime sighed softly, though her eyes sparkled with awe. "You truly are something else, Ren."

They moved toward the massive ark resting in the depths. Yamato stopped in her tracks as she saw Noah up close, its colossal structure casting shadows across the seabed.

"This is insane…" Yamato whispered. "It's bigger than Onigashima's dome."

Shirahoshi clapped excitedly. "It's my favorite place!"

Ren stepped onto the ark and summoned Nimbus beneath it. Golden clouds expanded massively, wrapping around the base of Noah like divine support.

The ship vibrated as the ocean currents shifted violently. Fish scattered, coral trembled, and the seabed cracked slightly as pressure changed.

"Ren… it's moving!" Shirahoshi gasped, holding onto Yamato carefully.

Noah began to rise. Slowly at first, then steadily, the massive ark ascended through the ocean like a sleeping giant awakening.

Across Fish-Man Island, citizens stopped mid-step as shadows shifted unnaturally overhead.

"Look!" a fish-man shouted. "Noah is moving!"

"It's rising!" another cried in disbelief.

Shops emptied, guards rushed to the palace balconies, and children pointed upward as the impossible sight unfolded.

Inside the royal plaza, Neptune raised his voice through Den Den Mushi amplifiers. "Citizens of Fish-Man Island!"

His deep voice echoed across the island. "The day we dreamed of has arrived!"

Otohime stepped beside him. "Fish-Man Island will be moving to the New World in a few weeks!" she announced clearly. "Those who wish to leave may prepare."

Murmurs spread instantly. Shock, fear, excitement—all mixing together.

"We're… moving?"

"To the surface world?"

"Is it safe?"

Neptune raised his trident firmly. "With Ren's protection, we fear nothing!"

Above, Noah continued rising, its massive form glowing faintly as it approached the surface light.

On the ark's deck, Yamato stared wide-eyed. "We're lifting an entire ancient ark…" she whispered. "You're ridiculous, Ren."

Ren grinned. "Get used to it."

Shirahoshi leaned over the edge, watching the ocean part beneath them. "It's beautiful…" she whispered softly. "It feels like the world is opening."

Ren looked toward the distant shimmer of the surface far above.

"Yes," he said quietly. "And this time… no one will close it again."
