It was Bai Wei who snapped first. His expression turned grim, hurt flashing in his eyes. "Brother Lin? Do you think it's funny to play with me? Aren't you the one who sent me those gifts? Aren't you the one who said all those things to me?"
Lin Feng froze. He knew he couldn't let this misunderstanding continue. He closed the distance between them in a single step, grabbing Bai Wei's arms gently and looking directly into his eyes. "Bai Wei! The things I said to you through those letters were not wrong. They are the truth of my heart. From the day I met you, I fell for you. Even Senior Brother Huai can vouch for me!"
Bai Wei's eyes widened. "Senior Brother Huai? You told Senior Brother Huai about this?"
Lin Feng nodded, his grip still firm. "Yes. He's known from the start. He was the one who caught me sending you gifts."
A strange sound escaped Bai Wei's lips, a mix between a sob and a chuckle. "Now I know what happened with these letters," he said, and then he started to laugh, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Bai Wei?" Lin Feng asked, utterly confused by the sudden change.
Bai Wei looked up at Lin Feng, his face a beautiful, tear-streaked mess of laughter. "Actually," he managed to say between gasps, "I told him about my feelings for you, too!"
And just like that, Lin Feng understood. So, it was all the work of their meddling Senior Brother Huai.
Bai Wei turned back, still laughing, tears clinging to his lashes. "So then! Now that we know it was a prank by Senior Brother, I'm going back, Brother Lin."
He made to leave, but a hand closed around his wrist firm, warm, and trembling just slightly. He looked back to see Lin Feng holding on as if he'd let go of the whole world if he loosened his grip.
Huai, standing a few meters away in the shadows, smiled in victory. "Done! Lin Feng did it."
Wuhe frowned, confused. "Did what? He just grabbed his hand."
Huai shook his head. "Watch what he does next."
They were too focused on the pair under the banyan to notice the other cluster of shadows a few steps behind them, where the rest of the sect was holding its collective breath.
Lin Ruo stifled a giggle. "Look at Brother Bai Wei's face! He's right on the edge of tears. He's laughing from nerves."
Da Zhuang elbowed him lightly. "What do you know about love, little kid? Just watch."
Xiao Yun crossed his arms, annoyed and impatient. "What is Brother Lin doing? How long is he going to make Brother Bai wait? Just say it."
Mu Chen leaned in with a grin. "So when do you want me to propose to you again, my love? I'm ready whenever you are."
Xiao Yun sneered, though the tips of his ears were red. It wasn't that he didn't like Mu Chen; he just didn't know what the sect elders would think, so he hadn't accepted him. "In your dreams," he said, and turned his attention back to the tree.
Behind them, Huo Ling'er, Lan Suyin, and Zhao Yue were watching with flushed cheeks. Lan Suyin's ears were burning. Zhao Yue gulped. "Have they been in love for a long, long time?" she whispered to Huo Ling'er.
The answer came from behind them, it was Zhao Tie, of all people. No one expected the cold maniac to show up for his senior brother's confession. He had a rare, small grin. "From the first day they joined the sect. You could see it in their eyes. They're just both dumb by birth and never figured it out."
Zhao Yue nodded and turned back to the banyan tree.
Under the spreading branches, Lin Feng took a steadying breath. His thumb brushed over Bai Wei's knuckles. "I'm not letting you go back," he said, voice low but clear enough to carry through the still air. "Not until I say what I should have said twenty years ago."
Bai Wei's laughter died into a shaky exhale. "Then say it, Brother Lin."
Lin Feng stepped closer, close enough that Bai Wei could see the storm in his eyes. "I was the one sending the gifts. Every jade slip, every spirit fruit, every silly note.I left them for you. I was a coward who hid behind 'Your stupid admirer' because I was terrified you'd look at me and see nothing."
Bai Wei's fingers curled around Lin Feng's. "I kept every single one," he whispered. "Even the terrible poem about the moon."
Lin Feng huffed a laugh, eyes wet. "You kept that?"
"I kept everything," Bai Wei said, his voice cracking. "Because I was hoping it was you. I told Senior Brother Huai I liked you. He told me to wait, to cultivate, to be patient. I thought I'd die from it."
Lin Feng lifted their joined hands and pressed his forehead gently against Bai Wei's. "I love you, Bai Wei. Not the anonymous admirer, not as the senior brother you respected me. I want to walk beside you, not behind you, not in the shadows."
Bai Wei's breath hitched, and then he smiled, bright and tearful. "I love you too, Lin Feng. I have for so long it feels like I started loving you before I even knew your name."
For a heartbeat they just stood there, foreheads touching, breathing each other in. Then Lin Feng tilted his head and kissed him, clumsy at first, then certain, as if he'd been practicing it in his mind for twenty years.
Xiao Yun sighed a heavy breath. "Finally! Finally they confessed to each other." Then he glanced at Mu Chen, who was watching the kiss with such focus that Xiao Yun immediately slapped his hand. Mu Chen yelped, "Ouch! Why did you hit me?" Xiao Yun said, annoyed, "Why are you watching them kiss so intently?"
Mu Chen grinned. "Isn't everyone doing the same?"
Xiao Yun looked around. Lin Ruo had produced pumpkin seeds and was munching away next to Da Zhuang while they both watched the pair. Huo Ling'er stood rigid, face red, eyes fixed on the kiss. Lan Suyin covered her face with both hands but still peeked through the gaps of her fingers. Zhao Yue, without taking her eyes off them, muttered, "Damn! It is intense."
She got no reply. The first person she noticed was Zhao Tie , the cold one staring without blinking, as if he'd discovered a new cultivation method. Zhao Yue sneered and turned back to the pair.
Huai immediately grabbed Wuhe's hand tightly. "See? See? I told you Lin Feng is serious this time."
Wuhe chuckled. "Are you serious with me too?" he asked suddenly.
Huai met Wuhe's eyes, leaned in, and kissed his lips gently, smooching his lower lip for a fraction of a second before pulling back.
"I'm the most serious when it comes to you, Wuhe."
Wuhe's heart thumped loud. He hadn't expected his simple teasing to get such a beautiful answer. He leaned in and kissed Huai back the same way, lingering a little longer. After a few minutes they separated, a little breathless, and looked back toward the boys under the banyan.
On side of Lin feng , lin feng started kissing Bai wei so hard that he almost fell . Lin feng grabbed his waist with one of his hands while use another hands to grab bai wei's head and deepen the kiss more intensely, Bai wei also put one of his hands in the chest of lin feng while used the other hand to deepen the kiss as lin feng did .
He also grabbed and even played with lin Feng's hair crazily. The ancient banian tree that waited for them for many years from the day they met each other here at the same place ..started dancing in the air. The old banyan leaves fell upon them as if they were celebrating their love too.
They continued their kissing. Lin feng took Bai wei's lower lips and now started smooching it hard Bai wei did the same with his upper one. But lin feng as if acting like a hungry wolf , didn't let Bai wei go at all. He pressed baiwei to his body so hard that Bai wei can easily feel his throbing member against lin feng.
And at the same time he can feel the growing member of lin feng touching him time to time. They continued for more than 20 minutes, but still didn't stopped at all.
Others who were watching all fo this suddenly felt that this scene is going to deep so they decided to go back to their own courtyard. But even if they left the area where they were they didn't go back to their courtyard at all .
They hide in another area and still watched the scenes that were unfolding in the dreamy night ...
The night air thickened with the scent of old bark and spirit herbs, and a soft wind curled around the banyan's roots as if the sect itself were holding its breath. Somewhere far off a night-bird called, but under the tree the world narrowed to two heartbeats trying to sync.
Huai, still holding Wuhe's hand, whispered, "Twenty years of waiting, and now they can't stop." Wuhe's thumb traced slow circles over Huai's knuckles, his smile small and fond. "Let them have this," he murmured. "Tomorrow they'll be insufferable, and we'll pretend we didn't watch."
Bai Wei felt the kiss spiraling hotter and hotter, and a thought cut through the haze: they were outside. He slowed, then gently pushed at Lin Feng's chest.
Lin Feng felt the rhythm break and looked at Bai Wei with that intense, hungry gaze. He'd never imagined he'd actually have his Bai Wei like this, and a part of him wanted to memorize every inch of him, right now, down to the bone.
But then he caught Bai Wei's embarrassed eyes, cheeks flushed, ears burning. Bai Wei met that fiery stare and said, "Lin Feng! We are outside."
Lin Feng came back to himself and glanced around. A flash of self-reproach hit him; he should have taken Bai Wei back to his room instead of losing his head under the banyan. But it was already too late for regrets.
Bai Wei said, quieter, "We just came back from twenty years of seclusion. Lin Feng, let's take it slow..." He trailed off when Lin Feng's gaze flared again, and he swallowed hard before correcting himself because he knew he couldn't hold back for many more days either. "At least declare our relationship to our elders. Until then, let's not do... those things."
Lin Feng's heart thumped. Those things? Does he mean... He swallowed. The beast in him was still pacing, but he reined it in and nodded.
"Okay," he said, voice rough. "We'll do it right."
He took Bai Wei's hand, and together they left the banyan's shade. The leaves that had been drifting down settled softly on empty ground.
The watchers in the shadows exhaled all at once, then slipped back toward their courtyards disappointed that the show was over, but none of them actually going inside. They found new corners to lurk in, whispering to each other about what they'd just seen.
Huai sighed, loud enough for Wuhe to hear. "Eh! Disappointing, they didn't continue... Heh! Lin Feng is an idiot!"
Wuhe chuckled, eyes glinting. "What did you even want to see them doing?"
Huai's face went red, ears burning. He thumped a fist against Wuhe's chest and vanished from the spot, leaving only a sentence behind: "Who? Who wants to see those things? Wuhe! Tonight you're sleeping outside."
Wuhe's expression fell. He bolted after the space where Huai had disappeared, already planning how to coax his boyfriend into mercy so he could get his nightly hug.
When everyone had gone, nine figures stepped out of the shadows a few meters away. The eight peak masters of the Eternal Sect Han Mujie, Su Yun, Shui Miao, Ba Tian, Feng Wuji, Yan Ruyu, Mu Qing, Shi Yan and Ancestor Gu Xuan.
They'd been there a long while. Huai and Wuhe were so focused on the pair under the banyan that they hadn't noticed anyone else watching.
The atmosphere among the nine was grim, the kind of heavy silence that made the night insects quiet down.
Han Mujie broke it first, turning to the ancestor. "Ancestor, what do you think about them?"
Gu Xuan laughed, the sound rolling low and amused. "Hahahaha! Youngsters are fiery nowadays."
Han Mujie shook his head. "No, no, not that! About their relationship?"
Before he could finish, Gu Xuan snapped. He grabbed Mujie's ear in one hand, teeth gritted. "Mujie! Do you live in the Iron Age? You still judge children by their preferences? Do you want to die?"
Han Mujie yelped, hopping on one foot. "Ahhh! Ancestor, please stop! I just wanted to know your opinion! Because there are old fools who can't accept two lovers... We eight hall masters accepted them a long, long time ago..."
