Sienna knew that Mirella would not disappoint her.
The elderly mage had once served as one of the most respected water mages in the Arcana Empire, and before House Vale had fallen from its high position, she had personally instructed several students. Those students were all gone now, buried alongside the old lord and the bright days of the family, but experience, unlike wealth or status, was not so easily taken away.
If teaching was needed, Mirella was the best choice.
With that thought settled, Sienna turned her attention to a different problem and almost immediately felt a headache blooming behind her eyes.
As long as the corn matured, they would have fuel in the form of stalks and cobs. With the food and supplies she had already moved into the barn, they would not starve. On the surface, the problem seemed solved.
But then another thought struck her.
Fire created smoke.
Smoke needed somewhere to go.
