Like a farmer who harvested a good season yet still prepared the next field before winter, she understood that survival belonged to those who kept planning even after success.
The arrangements were made quickly. Drunk, several black mages were sent back to the Carrion Swamp to continue exploring its dangerous outer regions. Scales and Brick remained at Iron Mountain Castle with five hundred undead soldiers who would permanently guard the fortress. Sienna and the others then headed to the manor on Stony Mountain, where Gamma, the twin mages, two hundred undead warriors, and one hundred undead assassins received strict orders to protect the estate.
