Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Evil Dragons Retreat

"Red Dragon King, do you think you've won? This is only the beginning!"

As the voice fell, a black dragon claw suddenly reached out from the pillar of energy, directly seizing King of Red Dragons, Osta by the throat, pinning him violently to the ground, and then stomping on his abdomen.

"How can he be this strong?"

Osta's eyes were filled with terror and confusion as he struggled to rise, but that dragon foot was like a colossal mountain, pinning him down immovably.

A glint of ruthlessness flashed in Acnologia's eyes as he abruptly raised his foot, stomping on King of Red Dragons, Osta again and again. The sound of bones shattering rang out, and the terrifying impact caused the ground beneath him to crumble, sending out wave after wave of shockwaves.

"Die!"

With a furious Roar, a heavy, powerful kick directly pierced through King of Red Dragons, Osta's abdomen, sending blood splattering.

With such a horrific injury, even with King of Red Dragons, Osta's willpower, he couldn't help but let out a scream of agony.

Just as Acnologia raised his foot again to deliver the killing blow, a bolt of golden lightning streaked through the air and slammed into him, the terrifying impact forcing him back several steps.

Acnologia gripped the golden lightning tightly. After steadying himself, he realized it was a Thunder Dragon King, whose brute strength was almost on par with King of Red Dragons, Osta.

"Die, die, die, die, die!!!"

Acnologia was utterly enraged, his aura of malice growing heavier. He bit down hard on the Thunder Dragon King's neck and, before the horrified eyes of everyone present, tore it clean off.

By the time he kicked aside the Thunder Dragon King's corpse, no dragon nearby dared to approach him anymore. Meanwhile, King of Red Dragons, Osta had also quickly fled the battlefield and vanished into the horizon with the help of an evil dragon.

Of course, he didn't care that King of Red Dragons, Osta had escaped. What angered him most was that Shadow Dragon who liked to ambush from behind; always hiding in the shadows, it was truly disgusting.

He looked toward the distance at the Shadow Dragon Skiadath, who was trapped by Evil Dragons, and blasted the surrounding Evil Dragons to death with a single Roar!

"Sikidola, release your Roar at me!"

Hearing this, Shadow Dragon Skiadath was momentarily stunned. "Use my Roar on you?"

He had truly never heard of such a request.

"Stop wasting time, hurry up!"

Hearing the impatience in Acnologia's tone, Shadow Dragon Skiadath dared not hesitate and blasted a Roar of black magic power toward him.

"Devour!"

Acnologia reached out and caught the Shadow Dragon's magic power, opening his massive, fanged maw to swallow it completely. Immediately after, the Shadow Dragon's magic power enveloped his entire body.

"Shadow Dragon Mode!"

A Dragon Slayer Mage's stomach has a powerful digestive capacity, allowing them to devour many energies with similar attributes.

Just like the future Natsu, who would devour lightning to enter Lightning Flame Dragon Mode; as the strongest of the Dragon Slayer Mages, how could Acnologia not be able to do the same?

He was attribute-less, which meant he possessed all attributes; he could devour any energy and then gain complete control over it!

Acnologia's body shrank, instantly transforming into his human form, and he cast Enchantment Magic on himself.

"Enchant: Gravity..."

He remembered from the anime that the Shadow Dragon's ability to dissolve into shadows was related to this aspect.

He closed his eyes and sensed carefully.

Soon, his entire body became even darker and began to sink.

When he opened his eyes again, he was in a space of pitch-black darkness, seemingly endless. However, there was a bit of white above, indicating the world outside, which he could return to at any time.

Acnologia activated his magic perception and suddenly looked toward the Shadow Dragon not far away, a savage and tyrannical expression appearing on his face. "You piece of trash, I found you!"

"Acnologia!"

"You're not a Shadow Dragon, how is it possible for you to enter the Shadow Space?"

The Shadow Dragon was instantly struck with terror. He had never imagined that one day someone would bring the fight to his doorstep, and that it would be a monster even stronger than a Dragon King!

Even the King of Red Dragons was no match for him; how could he possibly win?

Just as he was about to turn and flee, a cold voice appeared behind him in the next instant, making him feel as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

"I'm sending you to hell!"

Acnologia's voice was filled with an impatient bloodlust. He had already transformed into his dragon form and, with a flap of his wings, arrived instantly.

His left hand seized the Shadow Dragon's neck while his right hand, like a blade, plunged into the dragon's abdomen, grabbed the internal organs, and ripped them all out!

"Heh..."

Acnologia looked at the Shadow Dragon's terror-stricken face, sneered, and tossed him aside.

Trash, you're not even a Dragon King, yet you dared to ambush me!

As for the dead Shadow Dragon, the Shadow Space quickly expelled him. Acnologia flapped his wings and charged toward the surface.

By now, the war had reached its end. With the departure of King of Red Dragons, Osta, the other Evil Dragons began to retreat one by one.

"The Evil Dragons are retreating..."

"Is it over?"

The Good Dragons and the humans felt physically and mentally exhausted; they chose not to pursue and instead stopped to rest and reorganize.

Acnologia looked at the Evil Dragons vanishing into the sky, then turned back to look at the dragons and humans on his side. They were all teetering, with severed limbs and tails everywhere; they could collapse at any moment.

Both humans and dragons were waiting for Acnologia's orders. From the moment he joined the war, he had become their leader, and no one dared to question him.

"Retreat to the camp and rest!"

Acnologia calmed his murderous heart, and his cold voice echoed across the battlefield.

His soldiers' magic power was nearly depleted, and they couldn't possibly catch up to the flying Evil Dragons. Even if they did, they wouldn't have the strength to break their defenses. It was better to rest for a few days and wait for reinforcements from the rear.

Maintaining his dragon form, he looked down at the countless corpses buried under the rubble, his gaze piercing through the smoke to fall upon the soldiers who were exhausted yet still forcing themselves to stand.

Acnologia felt no joy of victory; instead, his heart was somewhat heavy. When watching the anime, he hadn't felt much as it passed by quickly, but now he realized that the Human-Dragon War was far more tragic than he had imagined.

It was truly a scene of corpses everywhere and rivers of blood!

An hour later, the Good Dragons and humans returned to the camp and began to replenish their magic power and fill their stomachs.

By evening, the death toll statistics were compiled. Thirty Good Dragons had died, with two hundred and forty remaining. Approximately one hundred and thirty thousand Mages had died, with about seven hundred thousand remaining.

On the Evil Dragons' side, over a hundred and thirty had died in total, with the number of survivors unknown.

The Dragon race was relatively fine, being thick-skinned and sturdy enough to withstand a Roar without much trouble, but human bodies were too fragile. Forget a Roar, sometimes even a flying piece of rubble could kill them.

In fact, this great battle was slightly better than the last. The Mages cooperated more seamlessly, and the number of Evil Dragons they killed was no less than those killed by the Good Dragons—it was about half and half.

Together, both sides killed sixty Evil Dragons, while the remaining seventy were killed by Acnologia alone.

Such a record was so formidable that many people didn't even dare to approach him when they remembered his presence on the battlefield.
