Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Demon In The Woods.

Sukuna silently lay on the wooden floor inside his log house.

Rolling around on the stupidly hard floor, it didn't take him long to find his new goal.

'I need a bed.'

A soft, fluffy bed he could lay down on and relax.

'Hm, how do you make a bed again? Wool and springs or something?'

As anyone could guess, he didn't know much about craftsmanship.

The memories he received from Sukuna only contained fighting, killing, getting stronger, and more killing...

Not the most comfortable life, if you asked him.

Stepping out of his log house, Sukuna cracked his neck and randomly picked a direction.

'Let's see what I can find there.'

With a single jump, he launched himself into the air, high above the trees around him.

His eyes moved around, quickly scanning the area as he fell down due to gravity.

Landing on the mud, he lowered his body and once again jumped into the sky.

'This feels quite nice.....'

Sukuna thought, feeling the pleasant winds hitting against his face.

Just then, he looked down and noticed a mouth full of sharp teeth opening up below, right where he was going to land.

"Oh? You want to eat me? Little monster."

Sukuna grinned, reinforced his body with cursed energy, and spun around, kicking right through the monster's body, crushing it like the trash it was.

But after killing his foe, Sukuna was anything but happy.

"Fck, I got blood all over me now!"

The thick, gooey blood from the monster completely enveloped him, making him frown.

Now he not only needed to find a sheep but also a water source to clean himself.

"What a great start..."

He said in a complaining voice before moving at high speed.

The whole place was wide and empty as hell. He found a few caves along the way, along with some stupid, harmless monsters.

'Hm? What is that?'

Sukuna suddenly stopped, his gaze fixed into the distance, focused on a broken cart.

'Free loot?'

His eyes lit up as he hurriedly left the forest and stepped onto the open ground, rushing straight toward the empty cart.

After reaching it, he quickly looked inside and saw some bloodstains around.

'Seems an accident happened... there doesn't seem to be anything in here though.'

The cart was empty, covered in some dried blood.

Its wheels had fallen out to the sides, seemingly broken off due to some accident.

Sukuna thought for a moment before putting the wheels inside the cart and lifting it up.

Since there was no loot in the cart, he would take the cart as his loot.

Going toward the ocean he saw in the distance, Sukuna washed himself off in the shitty seawater before picking up the cart and rushing back home.

He couldn't find a sheep, nor an animal with soft and fluffy fur, so he simply returned to try taking another direction this time.

'Somebody here?'

Sukuna narrowed his eyes and saw four people standing in front of his makeshift log house.

He recognized one of them as the girl he had saved before.

There was one man with a wooden stick in his hand and another man carrying a woman who seemed to be unconscious.

As they were urgently talking to the woman he had saved, Sukuna suddenly landed beside them.

The four of them were startled and quickly turned to look at him, only to be stunned upon seeing him carry a wooden cart in one hand over his head.

"Why are you here? Hm, what was your name again?" Sukuna put down the cart in his hand, then asked the woman he had saved, ignoring the vigilant looks on the men's faces.

The young woman looked at the bloodstains on the cart before opening her mouth and saying hesitantly,

"Erde, my name is Erde.... Mr. Sukuna."

"Well, at least you're not dumb enough to forget my name. So why are you here with your friends?" Sukuna asked in a casual tone.

"Mr. Sukuna..... can you please help my friend?"

"Erde! Can't you see the cart he brought back? It's stained with blood! This demon definitely killed people!"

The young man shouted in a loud voice filled with fear, while tightly holding the stick in his hand.

"If you don't like me, then leave. I don't want to see your stupid face either, brat," Sukuna said in a plain voice while pointing at the man.

"S-stupid face..."

While he was stunned, Erde suddenly took a step forward and said,

"Please ignore what he said, Mr. Sukuna...."

She pointed at the fainted woman lying in the other man's arms.

"My friend was grievously injured.... she has a high fever and won't wake up no matter what..... please, if you can.... then help her....." Erde said while holding her hands and looking at him with pleading eyes.

Although she tried her best to hide it, Sukuna was clearly able to see her shaking from time to time.

Heh, she was scared of him yet still dared to come here to save her friend.

Sukuna came near the unconscious girl, squatted down, and touched her forehead.

Well, she did have a very high fever.

Though it wasn't anything his reverse magic energy couldn't solve.

Heh, he changed reverse curse energy to reverse magic energy for fun.

Though he technically wasn't really reversing magic, it was just a stupid name he was using.

Retracting his hand from the woman's forehead, Sukuna looked at the man holding her and said,

"I can heal her."

His eyes widened for a moment before Sukuna said his next words.

"But what will you give me in exchange?"

Exchange?

The man fell into confusion and turned to Erde, who had brought them here.

The village elder had declared that his wife had no way to survive, making him feel devastated.

Then suddenly Erde came to him and told him that she was healed by a demon.

Erde and his wife were like sisters; they had been close with each other since childhood.

So although filled with doubt, he decided to call his friend as reassurance and follow Erde in hopes of a miracle.

Surprisingly, they found the demon. He even said he could save his wife, but what to give in exchange...

Their village was badly destroyed by the beasts, and they didn't have much money either.....

Seeing the man look at Erde, Sukuna also turned his head and looked at her.

"I..."

Erde clasped her hands. Then her face turned red for a moment before she spoke in a hurry.

"I'll let you touch my chest."

"..."

The two village men stared at her in shock.

"Oh?" Sukuna looked at her blossom with interest.

"That is an attractive offer, but I'm doing a deal with him, not you."

Sukuna said, then turned his head back to the man and continued.

"I need a soft, fluffy bed in exchange for saving her."

"A-a bed?"

"Yes, the soft kind."

"We only have ones made with hay..."

Well, it was a medieval world after all.

"Tsk, alright, I'll take it. But you'll have to come here to help me with some things."

Seeing the confusion on the man's face, Sukuna pointed at his log house.

"Some renovations here and there...."

"I understand! I'll do it! Now can you please save my wife?" the man agreed in a hurry.

"Alright."

Sukuna placed a hand on her forehead and then used his magic.

Then, visible to the naked eye, the woman's temperature dropped, her injuries disappeared, and a rosy complexion appeared on her face.

Before the villagers could even understand what was happening, the woman opened her eyes.

"Wife! You're awake!!"

"S-she woke up??"

Stepping away from the two of them, Sukuna came beside Erde, who was sighing in relief, and said,

"You can tell your villagers that if they need healing, they can come to me. In exchange, I will trade things with them."

It would be faster than hunting on his own.

"Yes, Mr. Sukuna."

Erde nodded, then stared at his face in silence.

Sensing her gaze, Sukuna turned to her and said in a teasing tone,

"What? You fell in love with me or something?"

"....."

"Hey, what is it? You can tell me. Just so you know, I'm single."

Erde scrunched her brows, then thought for a moment before saying,

"Mr. Sukuna.... um, are you really a demon?"

"Of course I am. Look at the horns," Sukuna said while pointing at his head.

"Indeed..." Erde muttered.

She was confused. All her life she had heard that demons were humanity's greatest enemy, that they were ruthless and killed or ate any and all humans on sight.

But Mr. Sukuna before her..... didn't quite behave like a monster...

If anything, he was a pervert at best...

After leaving them, they returned to the village and shocked everyone with the healed girl.

When the villagers asked what happened, Erde told them about Sukuna, confusing all of them.

A demon helping a human?

How could this happen?

While the villagers were filled with doubt, Sukuna was lying on his hay bed.

'Better than the wooden floor, I suppose.'

He thought in his mind as he closed his eyes and rested.

As a demon, he didn't need to sleep, but his habit as a human made him want to lie on a bed and relax.
