April 30th | Qingshui City
Inside the hotel room, the news was playing on TV.
"This is Qingshui City News. A once-in-a-century crimson moon will appear above these seas in three days…"
Lin Yu turned off the television and called out all his Pokémon.
Charizard, Greninja, Gardevoir, Lucario, Larvitar, Manaphy… and Dira right next to them.
Wait, that one didn't quite fit.
Lin Yu had automatically grouped Dira in with his Pokémon again.
She always hung around and watched him expectantly during feeding time, after all.
Oh well. Time to unlock this week's weekly Entry.
[Blue Entry (Cuisine Master) — Energy Cubes you make taste far better, with a chance to create cubes that boost your Pokémon's stats.]
Great.
Lin Yu, official chef of the team.
After the Precious Pokémon Guidance shattered, it had given him nearly 2,000 Entry Coins.
That was the first time he realized red-rarity Entries were worth so much.
"Gardev~"
Gardevoir twirled gracefully, her dress fluttering.
After handing out the usual Energy Cubes, Lin Yu turned to Larvitar. For his newest pseudo-legendary teammate, he'd equipped these Entries for now:
[Blue Entry (Lazy King) — Gains passive power even while lazing around; strength scales with how lazy it is!]
[Blue Entry (Thorn Armor) — Attacks that hit the holder deal 0~30% recoil damage, based on the attacker's power.]
He didn't have any Larvitar/Tyranitar-specific Entries yet,
so general defensive ones would have to do for now.
Lin Yu made a silent wish: give me some Entries that fit Larvitar… and eventually Tyranitar!
As for what he wished for…
Just imagine a shiny black Tyranitar, fully covered in scales — already insanely cool.
Now picture it with an extra layer of armor!
Total armor hero — merge activate!
"Lin Yu, look!"
In Latias's paws was a painting.
It showed Tyranitar unleashing its full power, with pirates and their Pokémon blown high in the sandstorm.
The joy of traveling was capturing moments!
Latias hadn't forgotten her art skills, and she often practiced with Gardevoir.
"Larvi!"
The newly woken Larvitar stared in awe. To it, its parents were the strongest beings in the world.
"Eat up, then sleep tight. Someday you'll be just as powerful!"
Lin Yu had zero doubts about this Champion-tier Larvitar.
During its growth stage, Larvitar didn't need much training — it just needed to eat.
Eat, then sleep~
Once Larvitar evolved into Pupitar, it would enter a cocoon state and stop needing food entirely.
So the more it ate now, the better.
"Larvi~" (Okay!)
It immediately went into chow-down mode, devouring more Energy Cubes than all the other Pokémon combined.
A single meal cost Lin Yu at least 200,000 yuan!
No wonder people said a hungry Larvitar could eat a mountain bare.
Truly living up to the legend.
But to Lin Yu, a big appetite was a good appetite!
He could definitely afford it.
While his Pokémon ate, Lin Yu opened the Entry Shop.
[Poké Ball: …]
[Super Energy Cubes: …]
[Lucario Mega Set — Allows Lucario to Mega Evolve when bond is sufficient! 1,000 Entry Coins.]
Another Mega Stone, just like he'd hoped.
So now he had three Mega sets total:
Charizard X/Y, Gardevoir, and Lucario.
Tyranitar could Mega Evolve too.
Perfect.
Lin Yu made a new wish: a Tyranitar Mega Stone.
Larvitar had a long evolution journey ahead, but it never hurt to plan ahead.
He kept scrolling.
[Legendary Summon Card: …]
Lin Yu checked his Entry Coins: 1,568. Had he been earning them faster lately?
He had just enough left.
Along with the Lucario Mega Set, he bought one Legendary Summon Card.
If he ever faced true danger, he could summon a random Legendary Pokémon for help!
A plain black card with a "?" on it appeared in his hand.
"This is the Legendary Summon Card? Doesn't look like much."
As of now, there were still two items too expensive for him:
Xerneas Life Essence — 10,000 Entry Coins
Master Ball — 5,000 Entry Coins
"Lin Yu, can I see that Poké Ball?" Dira asked, after finishing her own Energy Cubes.
"Hm? Dira, do you want to be a Trainer? You'd need to register with the League first. Here, this is Gardevoir's Poké Ball — take a look."
Lin Yu was curious. He was really fond of this psychic girl.
She was cute, obedient, and absurdly powerful. Where else could you find a travel buddy like that?
"Nope. I want a new one."
Latias was already eager to go inside a ball.
"Huh?"
Helpless, Lin Yu bought a fresh Poké Ball from the shop and handed it to her.
But the second Latias's hand touched the Poké Ball…
Lin Yu froze. His eyes shot wide.
Red light?
She… she was pulled inside?
He stared at the Poké Ball in his hand as it shook once, then went still.
Wait a second.
Did I just catch a human?
The absurd thought flashed through his mind — then vanished.
Memories of the Eon Islands rushed back.
Everything clicked.
If he was right…
There was only one truth.
She wasn't human.
She was… Latias.
All his Pokémon stared in shock.
Charizard dropped the Energy Cube it had been holding in its claw.
"Mana?"
Tiny Manaphy tilted its head, confused. How had a person just vanished like that?
Lin Yu's voice trembled slightly.
"C-come on out, Latias."
The red light flashed again.
But this time, the figure that appeared was Latias — in her true Pokémon form.
"Mmm~"
She'd heard Lin Yu say "Latias."
"So… you're the Latias I met in the Eon Islands?" Lin Yu asked carefully.
"Mhm! I told you, Lin Yu~"
Latias lifted him up, set him on her back, and flew around the hotel room.
"I really like you!"
"Gardev…?"
Gardevoir pouted, clearly jealous.
After flying around for a while, Lin Yu finally convinced Latias to let him down. His overloaded brain slowly started working again.
