Lin Yu wandered around with Latias, glancing left and right.
The place was like a high-end jewelry store, with rare treasures locked behind glass display cases.
Skipping over treasures of other types, Lin Yu headed straight for the Psychic-type section.
These artifacts were far more expensive than antiques or jade from his old world.
And high-grade Psychic treasures were the priciest of all.
Not a single one cost less than seven digits.

Lin Yu checked his balance — just over five million.
It might not be enough.
"Hello there, young sir and miss! Are you looking for anything specific in Psychic-type treasures… Wait — are you Lin Yu, the champion of this year's Hunan Provincial High School Tournament?"
A stylish attendant in a traditional high-slit qipao hurried over as soon as she saw Lin Yu examining the Psychic displays.
She even recognized him.
Lin Yu scratched his nose.

He gestured for her to quiet down.
She nodded immediately and whispered, "What can I help you find?"
"I need treasures that can restore Psychic-type energy as much as possible. Do you have any?"
Lin Yu glanced around, relieved no one else was paying attention.
"Right this way, please!"
The attendant grew even more respectful once she realized who he was.
Famous, talented Trainers were respected everywhere in this world.
She hadn't expected the highly-touted provincial champion to be so modest and polite.
She'd worked at the Treasure Bureau for two or three years and met plenty of genius Trainers — most were arrogant and demanding, acting like they were guaranteed to become Elite Four someday.
None were as humble as Lin Yu.
Shame he already had a companion.
She led the way with a graceful stride, then glanced back at Latias walking beside Lin Yu.

The attendant brought Lin Yu to a glass case holding a smooth, milky-white gem.
Latias had been curiously looking at everything around them,
but when she saw the Psychic treasure inside the case, she barely reacted.

Sensing his hesitation over the cost, the attendant quickly added, "For exceptional Trainers like you, the Treasure Bureau offers very generous discounts!"
Lin Yu's eyes lit up. He looked at her earnestly.
"Really? Thank you, miss!"
Calling her "miss" made her beam.
She liked him more and more, so she even waived her own commission to help him out.
"Really. I can give you a 25% discount."
"You're the best! Thank you so much!"
Lin Yu breathed a sigh of relief and asked for three.
"Oh, right… I might not have enough money on me. Can I sell some potions and Energy Cubes here?"
He pulled out his Top-Rank Breeder License.
Three crystals of varying sizes would cost around 8 million normally.
Even with the discount, it was still 6 million.
The attendant took the license, checked it, and stared at Lin Yu in disbelief.
This young guy was a provincial champion and a Top-Rank Breeder?
"Is that not allowed?" Lin Yu asked, confused when she just stared at him.
Logically, the Treasure Bureau was always eager to buy high-quality potions and cubes from Breeders.

She snapped back to her senses.
"One moment, please! I'll go get our appraiser right away!"
She hurried off toward the back, her high heels clicking loudly on the floor.
Latias watched curiously and asked Lin Yu why the lady wore uncomfortable shoes like that.
"Ahem… human girls like to look pretty. That qipao, for example — the high slit gives it a subtle, elegant look.
And high heels make her look taller and more graceful."
Lin Yu explained with his limited knowledge of fashion — basically just making it up as he went.
Still, Latias nodded slowly like she understood.
Lin Yu wiped sweat from his forehead, relieved she bought it.
Soon the attendant returned with a bespectacled Breeder in a lab coat, who smelled strongly of medicinal herbs.
The emblem on his coat marked him as a High-Rank Breeder.
…Pretty weak, compared to Lin Yu.
"Where is he? Where's this young Top-Rank Breeder?"
When he saw Lin Yu, the Breeder grew visibly excited and shook his hand tightly, refusing to let go.

Only when the attendant coughed did he remember why Lin Yu was here.

The lab-coated Breeder rushed off again.

A girl suddenly burst through the crowd, looking frantic.

Lin Yu automatically held out his Antidote.
She summoned a poisoned Staryu, fed it the potion, and sighed in relief.
