Bella's POV
After tucking the children into their beds, I curled up in the armchair with a glass of red wine, my eyes still stinging with unshed tears as I gazed through the window at the solitary moon hanging in the darkness.
Heavy clouds drifted across the sky, and even the scattered stars seemed reluctant to keep the moon company tonight.
I exhaled slowly, watching as the clouds attempted to shroud the moon completely, yet it persisted in breaking through, appearing more radiant with each emergence.
"So it really was my fault," I whispered to myself, recalling how they had all reacted when I announced my pregnancy years ago.
Every single one of them claimed they weren't prepared for that kind of commitment, or dismissed me as nothing more than an omega in their lives.
Now I discovered that those who insisted they weren't ready had already gotten someone else with child.
