Chapter 1 - When the Last Star Chose Me

On the night of the Blackout, the stars disappeared.

Not dimmed. Not hidden by clouds. Gone.

Seventeen-year-old Aarav Sen was awake when it happened. He was on the rooftop of his small-town house, headphones on, trying to escape another argument between his parents. He looked up — and the sky was empty. A hollow, endless black.

Then something fell.

Not like a meteor. Not burning. Not blazing.

It drifted.

A silver light descended slowly and landed right in front of him. Floating. Pulsing. Alive.

And then it spoke.

"You have been chosen as a Keeper."

Before Aarav could run or scream, the light shot into his chest.

Pain exploded through his veins. His vision fractured. Symbols burned into his skin like constellations. And in that moment, he understood something terrifying:

The stars were not balls of gas.

They were seals.

And someone — or something — had broken them.

The next day, the world was chaos. Satellites failed. Tides shifted. Animals went mad. Scientists called it a cosmic anomaly.

But Aarav saw shadows moving where light should exist.

Creatures made of darkness began appearing in cities across the world — invisible to most humans. They hunted silently, feeding on fear, anger, and grief.

And only Aarav could see them.

The star inside him awakened powers he didn't understand. He could bend light into weapons. He could freeze time for a heartbeat. He could hear whispers from the sky.

But every time he used his power, a piece of the star inside him dimmed.

He wasn't alone.

Across the world, others had been chosen — Keepers carrying fragments of fallen stars. Some wanted to protect humanity.

Others wanted power.

And in the deepest void beyond the sky, something ancient was waking up.

It called itself The Eclipse King.

And it was coming to reclaim its stars.

Aarav must decide:

Save the world…

or save the star that is slowly becoming his heart.

Because when the last star dies —

so does the light inside him.
