Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Orange Flash

Chapter 41: Orange Flash

The roars of the Hell Hounds shattered the silence of the canyon.

Hundreds of beasts, like a black tide, squeezed out of the cave, carrying a suffocating stench and killing intent, instantly filling every inch of Yahiko's vision.

Facing a beast tide capable of tearing an ordinary Jonin to pieces, Yahiko took half a step back, yielding the stage.

"I'll leave it to you, Nagato."

"Mhm."

Deva Path Pain took a step forward.

At that moment, the noisy air seemed to freeze. Without complex hand Seals or violent Chakra fluctuations, Deva Path simply gazed coldly at the reckless beasts and slowly raised his arms.

Within those purple Rinnegan, the reflection of hundreds of bloody maws could be seen.

"Let the world... feel Pain."

The moment the low murmur fell, the world's mute button was pressed.

Shinra Tensei!

BOOM—!!!

Centered on Deva Path, an invisible yet tangible field of terrifying repulsive force erupted suddenly.

The dozens of Hell Hounds at the forefront didn't even have time to scream before their bodies twisted and deformed in an instant. The crisp sound of shattering bones blended together, followed by the muffled thuds of bursting flesh.

The powerful repulsive force was like a giant invisible hemisphere, ruthlessly leveling everything in its path. Layers of the hard rocky ground were scraped away, and ancient trees were uprooted and pulverized in mid-air.

Half a second later, the dust settled.

The narrow and gloomy canyon entrance had now turned into a massive circular basin a hundred meters in diameter.

At the edge of the basin, the beast tide that had once struck fear into hearts was now reduced to a ring of blurred, dark-red pulp embedded in the rock walls.

Absolute power, absolute suppression.

"It seems I used too much force."

Deva Path lowered his arms and commented expressionlessly, "With an attack of this level, most of the corpses cannot be recovered."

"There are still some stragglers."

Yahiko tilted his head, looking toward the forest at the edge of the repulsive field.

A dozen of the largest elite Hell Hounds, relying on animal instinct, had jumped into blind spots just a moment before the Shinra Tensei erupted. Now, seeing the gruesome deaths of their companions, the red light in their eyes didn't fade; instead, it was sparked into extreme madness by fear.

They didn't dare attack the inscrutable orange-haired man (Deva Path), so they locked onto the seemingly "defenseless" Yahiko nearby.

Roar!

A dozen black shadows used the tree trunks to rebound, pouncing on Yahiko from all directions at a speed like thunder.

"Do you take me for a soft target?"

A cold smile curled at the corner of Yahiko's mouth. Between his fingers, the specially made kunai engraved with the Flying Thunder God formula spun gently.

In this world, Minato Namikaze is known as the "yellow flash," relying on extreme reaction speed and neural reflexes.

But Yahiko didn't need to react.

King Crimson: Time Deletion!

The world shattered into countless red fragments in his eyes.

In that deleted gap of time, the pouncing of those dozen Hell Hounds became meaningless. Yahiko calmly raised his hand and threw the Kunai in his hand toward four different directions.

Time resumed its flow.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The sounds of Kunai pinning into tree trunks rang out almost simultaneously.

At the very instant the Hell Hounds' claws were about to touch the hem of Yahiko's clothes, his figure vanished into thin air.

A blinding orange light lit up in the dim canyon.

It was the afterimage left on the retina by Yahiko's orange hair combined with ultra-high-speed spatial jumps.

This Orange Flash followed a zigzag trajectory that defied common physical laws, piercing through the blind spots of all the Hell Hounds' attacks in an instant.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

The sounds of sharp blades slicing through flesh formed a continuous line.

When the orange light dissipated, Yahiko was already standing on a giant rock a dozen meters away. He maintained a reverse-grip stance, and from the edge of the Kunai in his hand, a drop of dark-red beast blood slowly dripped.

Behind him, the dozen elite Hell Hounds remained suspended in mid-air, still in their pouncing positions.

A second later.

A dozen hideous dog heads detached from their torsos in unison and rolled to the ground. The fountains of blood spraying from the headless corpses were like Lycoris flowers blooming on the ruins.

"Though not as dazzling as gold, orange isn't bad either, is it?"

Yahiko flicked the blood off his Kunai and took a light breath.

This move was cool, but the Chakra consumption was indeed staggering. Every time the Flying Thunder God was activated, it required precise spatial coordinate calculations. If not for the King Crimson's precognition ability assisting with positioning, the spatial dizziness alone would be enough to make one vomit.

How on earth did that cheater Minato Namikaze manage to teleport hundreds of times in a single battle? Is this the difference in Chakra capacity?

"Good speed," Deva Path Pain turned around and gave a fair assessment. "Within this distance, even I cannot fully capture your movement trajectory."

"I'm flattered."

Yahiko put away the Kunai and pointed at a pile of slightly more intact corpses on the ground. "Are they still usable?"

"Yes."

The Animal Path Pain, who had been silent, walked over.

He didn't bother with the ordinary shredded meat but walked toward the dozen elite Hell Hounds beheaded by Yahiko.

Animal Path raised his hand, and a black chakra rod condensed in his palm.

With the infusion of Nagato's will, the corpses that were originally dead began to wriggle eerily. Animal Path used the black rods as connection points to forcibly piece several of the strongest corpses together.

Flesh fused, and bones restructured.

A moment later, a terrifying giant beast with three heads and a back full of black rods was born amidst the smoke. It crouched low, its three heads letting out low roars simultaneously, its once-crimson eyes now all turned into the purple ripples of the Rinnegan.

Hell Splitting Dog, complete.

This creature possesses an extremely abnormal trait: the more it is attacked, the more individuals it splits into.

"This is the best watchdog."

Nagato nodded in satisfaction, then controlled the Animal Path to summon it back to the alternate dimension.

Next, Deva Path Pain slowly walked toward the High Priest, who had died with his eyes open.

This fat man who had spent his whole life deceiving people, only to die in the end because he wanted to save them.

"What do you want to do?" Yahiko raised an eyebrow.

"The six paths of pain is still missing a few positions." Deva Path looked at the High Priest's corpse, his tone as calm as if he were discussing a piece of furniture. "This person seems very suitable for being made into a Pain."

Yahiko was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.

"You want to turn him into the 'Naraka Path'?"

"Is there a problem?"

"None, it's too fitting." The smile in Yahiko's eyes carried a hint of mockery. "In life, he relied on lies to make people 'atone,' and in death, he becomes the King of Hell judging life and death. I suppose this counts as helping him realize his professional ideal? The High Priest resurrecting the masses—sounds quite holy."

Nagato ignored Yahiko's twisted sense of humor.

He controlled the Animal Path to take out a giant scroll and sealed the High Priest's corpse inside.

"Let's go."

Having dealt with everything in the canyon, the three did not linger and headed straight for the coastline of the Land of Rivers.
