"Is this… a Bloodline Awakening?"
Fleet Admiral Kong frowned.
The history of the Marines stretched back centuries. Within preserved records, there were accounts of offspring born from unions between Humans and the Mink Tribe. Under intense stimulation—or upon reaching adulthood—such descendants could experience a Bloodline Awakening.
But without exception, those cases manifested as stronger Mink characteristics.
Roldy , however, was different.
Aside from the fur across his shoulders and back becoming glossier, the most obvious change was the expansion of his body. His muscles had already swelled to nearly twice their previous size. The once well-built youth had transformed into a monstrous mass of muscle.
"Huh? Bloodline Awakening? What's that supposed to be?"
Garp scratched his head, utterly confused.
Sengoku adjusted his glasses and explained calmly:
"Humans are the most numerous race in this world, but other races possess innate advantages. The Fish-Men are beloved by the sea, born with tremendous arm strength. The Giants are the natural rulers of land—walking war machines.
"But innate power does not fully manifest in childhood. It erupts only after they reach maturity.
"If Roldy is undergoing a Bloodline Awakening, it means the Mink blood within him is being fully released. His strength and speed will increase dramatically—especially his Sulong form and his control over Electro."
"I see… power that comes from one's bloodline?"
Zephyr suddenly felt like a negligent teacher.
His disciple possessed Mink blood. He should have researched it earlier. Power rooted in blood must be properly cultivated.
"But… he hasn't shown any additional Mink traits, has he?"
Garp stroked his chin, voicing everyone's doubt.
Soon enough—
They realized something was very wrong.
Roldy 's body was still expanding.
At 5.55 meters tall, he had already been imposing. His diamond-like muscles marked him as a powerhouse.
But now—
His body exceeded the hospital bed's length. His calves dangled over the edge. His hospital gown stretched tight, fabric tearing audibly under the pressure of his swelling muscles.
Perhaps a threshold had been reached.
When only half his body could fit upon the bed—
The transformation finally stopped.
"This is…"
Sengoku's eyes widened.
Roldy 's height had reached nearly 10 meters!
Such a massive physique instantly brought to mind the legendary rulers of land—the Giant race.
Towering trapezius muscles. A massively expanded chest. Arms as thick as pillars.
Every inch of his body screamed raw power.
But it wasn't over.
His size stopped increasing—
Yet the fur unique to the Mink Tribe began to bristle violently.
The black-and-white fur completely transformed into pure white.
Veins bulged along his arms. His fingernails sharpened into claws. Fangs pushed past his lips.
And from behind—
A long, fluffy white tail emerged.
With each breath, faint arcs of electricity flickered across it.
"Kong, what's going on?!"
Zephyr turned anxiously—only to see Kong standing there in stunned silence.
"Two Bloodline Awakenings…?"
He muttered hoarsely.
"I should have realized sooner. The first awakening had nothing to do with the Mink blood. There's another powerful bloodline inside him.
"Once the first fully awakened, it triggered the second."
Chapter 33: Bloodline Awakening! (2/2)
Kong no longer knew what expression to wear when looking at Roldy .
Excitement? Frenzy?
Those emotions had already peaked when Roldy awakened Conqueror's Haki.
But this—
A dual bloodline awakening was something he had never witnessed in his lifetime.
Not every mixed-blood individual was qualified to awaken their lineage.
To awaken two bloodlines simultaneously?
For Roldy , this was an enormous blessing.
His power was rapidly approaching true maturity.
And the sheen on his skin—
Kong could now say with certainty: with Roldy 's current physique, ordinary firearms and artillery would likely fail to harm him.
In other words—
A body of steel.
"Huh? When did you all get here? You're all important figures—shouldn't you at least knock before entering someone's hospital room?"
Feeling the strange changes within himself, Roldy sat up.
The massive hospital bed looked like a mere stool beneath him.
As he rose, he saw the stunned expressions of Kong and the others.
"Heh. We were worried about you, brat. But now you look… fine? I think? So we can relax… maybe?"
Garp's expression grew increasingly odd.
It was hard to believe that this counted as "fine."
Sengoku, however, keenly noticed something else—
Roldy didn't seem surprised by his own transformation.
The boy was clearly hiding something.
"Ah, it's just a Bloodline Awakening. No big deal!"
Roldy spoke casually while sensing the changes within himself.
Honestly, the Mink bloodline awakening made his fur sleeker and gave him more pronounced wolverine-like traits—intimidating, sure.
The only downside?
He'd grown way too big.
At over 10 meters tall, daily life would be inconvenient.
Sure, greater size meant greater strength—that was undeniable.
But walking around like this all the time?
Well…
Size was something men never rejected.
And he hadn't been small to begin with.
Not just height.
Muscles too.
(Anyone thinking otherwise, go stand in the corner.)
He shuddered.
Yeah… maybe not.
"Roldy ," Tsuru suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
"You once told us your father was a famous pirate—a Mink warrior. But we've never heard you mention your mother."
One sentence.
Straight to the heart of the matter.
The others' eyes lit up.
Bloodlines are inherited from one's parents.
The Mink lineage was obvious.
The other, clearly non-human bloodline—
Must come from his mother.
"Heh. As expected of Vice Admiral Tsuru. Your wisdom is as sharp as ever."
Roldy smiled.
All of his academic education—navigation, races, history—had been personally taught by Tsuru.
He might look like a muscle-headed brute—
But intellectually, he left Garp in the dust by several hundred miles.
He answered plainly.
"Well… the truth is, I'm not Human at all.
"There isn't a single trace of Human blood in me."
No one was particularly surprised.
"My father was a warrior of the Mink Tribe.
"And my mother…"
He paused slightly.
"…was a warrior of the Giant race."
