The North, Winterfell
Night fell, and a heavy silence enveloped the makeshift camp outside Wintertown. Jon and his men had arrived that morning; though time was limited, building a camp was not impossible with a clear division of labor.
The outer fence of this wooden camp was made of logs stood upright. During this process, the residents of Wintertown provided Jon and his men with great assistance.
In this tranquility, a group of black-clad figures approached as silently as ghosts. They were the "Bloodfang" assassins brought by Sonia.
Their objective was clear and sinister: to infiltrate the camp and assassinate the noble commanders, clearing the way for the subsequent attacking forces.
These assassins were all silver-haired people like Sonia; the only difference was that they lacked the golden vertical pupils. Every one of them was a master of stealth and killing.
These fellows were all modified humans created by the wizard named Naegor. Both he and Ganev were beings created by the Demon King within the Magic Stone using a portion of the system's power.
Naegor was an antagonist boss from a game Jon played before transmigrating, whose abilities focused on creation and research. After coming to this world, Naegor read ancient texts and learned of the legends of Valyria.
He subsequently created very special Dragonmen like Sonia. Although he was very curious about the secrets of dragons, without the corresponding materials and foundation, he could only settle for the next best thing and begin the modified human project he was familiar with.
As these assassins infiltrated, a cold and bloodthirsty light flickered in their eyes. The daggers in their hands, similar to system weapons, reflected faint glints of cold light, seemingly foretelling imminent death.
The assassins were extremely cautious as they entered the camp's perimeter. They tiptoed like cats around sentries and pit traps, using the night and the ambient noise of the camp to cover their movements.
They took every step with care to avoid stepping on sound traps left on the ground or making any noise that might alert the enemy.
Since there weren't many fires inside the camp, these assassins easily reached the shadows of the fence.
Approaching a low point in the fence, the lead assassin quickly signaled the others to stop.
In Jon's makeshift camp, each log of the fence was spaced about a fist's width apart; a hand could fit through, but a person could not.
Inside and outside the fence, Jon had ordered a ring of black briars to be laid. These pure black briars, which grew in the forests of the North, were the kind with barbs and could perfectly serve as barbed wire.
After checking that no one was patrolling nearby, the lead assassin signaled his subordinates to move the black briars. These fellows didn't make a sound when they touched the sharp and clinging black briars, as if they weren't grasping anything at all.
After moving the black briars, the lead assassin took out a hacksaw and began to gently saw the wooden post. After ten minutes, the assassins gingerly lowered the log.
After confirming they could enter the camp from this spot, the assassins slipped inside with great ease. In the process, they didn't make a single sound, sliding into the camp like snakes hunting in the shadows and blending into the dark corners.
Anxious to proceed, they didn't pay attention to the situation inside the tents as they passed them, instead heading straight for the main tent.
Earlier that day, Theon had observed the main tent through that makeshift astronomical telescope and learned that all the officers lived there.
After avoiding the soldiers patrolling the outer and middle areas, the assassins quietly reached the vicinity of the main tent.
Just as the assassin leader was about to command his men to eliminate the four soldiers guarding the front of the main tent, several sneaky figures, reeking of alcohol, dragged the four soldiers away.
When they first entered the tent area, the assassins had overheard from the patrolling soldiers that some were secretly drinking in the rear camp, so they didn't find this strange.
Although these modified humans were physically enhanced, their consciousness and intelligence hadn't improved much. Only high-level modified humans possessed keen senses and sharp wits.
After waiting a few minutes to ensure the guards were far away, the assassin leader gently lifted the tent flap.
After signaling his companions to enter, several assassins habitually tightened their grip on their sharp daggers and slowly approached their sleeping targets.
Puchi...
Cila...
With decisive and ruthless movements, their daggers quickly plunged into the bedding. To their surprise, however, the daggers didn't transmit the familiar sensation of entering flesh, but rather the sound of piercing fabric.
"Move in quickly! Surround them!"
Just as the assassins were struggling to process what was happening, a sudden clamor erupted from outside.
"What's going on?"
"Damn it, we've been ambushed!"
"Watch out..."
...As the surrounding soldiers closed in, a chaotic skirmish immediately broke out, and the assassins were forced to engage the suddenly appearing enemies.
Despite being well-trained, the assassins couldn't exert their full combat potential against the sudden resistance. In a specific environment, they could indeed fight several opponents at once.
But now, under these circumstances, they couldn't put up any effective resistance and could only be hemmed into the tent by Jon's soldiers.
"Pull! Release..."
At Jon's command, the soldiers pulled down the main tent, and as it fell, the assassins inside were directly covered up.
"Thrust..."
Under the officers' orders, the soldiers armed with spears closed in on the assassins in a circular formation.
Puchi...
As the spears fell, the assassins were stabbed to death before they could even react. Covered by the tent fabric, the speed and agility they took pride in were useless, and they became nothing more than lambs for the slaughter.

Meanwhile, atop the gatehouse of Winterfell's south gate, Theon, who had been observing the distant situation, suddenly became excited.
"It's a success! Quick, quick, quick!"
Theon's voice echoed in the night air, filled with the joy of victory and a sense of urgency.
Following his shout, Sonia and Yara quickly arrived at his side.
They impatiently used the astronomical telescope to carefully observe the distant camp, confirming whether the previous action had achieved the expected results.
Through the telescope, they saw flames soaring within the camp and a scene of chaos.
This clear sign indicated that their plan had succeeded; the enemies inside the camp were running around like headless flies, plunged into extreme panic.
"Move out!"
Although they could only see the firelight in the camp and the silhouettes in front of the flames, the situation they saw indeed looked like the chaos that occurs during a crisis. Thus, Yara decisively gave the order to attack.
"Kill!"
Behind the south gate, a large group of Ironborn had long been waiting impatiently.
Upon hearing Yara's command, the Ironborn moved into action. They let out deafening battle cries and, like an unstoppable torrent, charged toward the chaotic camp carrying all sorts of weapons.
Greed and excitement gleamed in the eyes of these pirates. They believed the decapitation strike had been a complete success; now, they only needed to charge into the enemy camp and strike down the disoriented enemies one by one to easily seize victory.
Their hearts were full of anticipation, as if they could already see their hands stained with enemy blood and the glory and spoils that would follow.
At this moment, every Ironborn transformed into a beast of the battlefield, ready to tear apart any prey that dared stand in their way.
By now, the lights in Wintertown had long been extinguished. Those who had received word were all hiding inside their houses, knowing full well that tonight was destined to be a sleepless night.
The camp Jon set up was located right at the end of the Wintertown road, adjacent to the Kingsroad. The Ironborn didn't need to expend much effort to reach the vicinity of the camp.
"Kill!"
"Kill them all!"
...The first few Ironborn to charge into the camp kicked over braziers, and as the braziers fell, the surrounding tents caught fire.
However, as the Ironborn continued to pour in, they discovered a startling situation: there wasn't a single person inside these tents.
Because most of them had been poised to strike, the number of people pouring in from behind continued to increase without abatement.
"Wait... wait... something's not right!"
"There's no one in the tents!"
"We've been tricked!"
"Kill them..."
"Quick, quick, quick..."
...Cries of alarm and battle mingled among the Ironborn, making the already chaotic scene even more disorganized. Those who realized something was wrong tried to retreat, while those behind them shouted and pushed forward.
"Prepare javelins!"
Just as the Ironborn were in a state of confusion, a sharp shout rang out in their ears.
Immediately after, a dense volley of short spears fell from high in the air in front of them. As these short spears landed, they instantly wounded several unlucky fellows.
