Chapter 1.5: Bonus The Secrets Behind Cultivation

Welcome, readers.

This chapter is a special interlude — a guide to the world of cultivation, techniques, beasts, and spiritual methods that Ling Chen and others will encounter. Here, you will understand the rules of power, how techniques are classified, and what it truly takes to rise above.

Techniques — The Tools of Power

Every cultivator wields techniques — the expressions of their understanding of spiritual energy. Techniques are not just martial moves; they are manifestations of a cultivator's comprehension of the world and the energy that flows through it.

Six Classes of Techniques

1. Mortal Class Techniques

Level: Beginner

Creators: Spiritual Sensing or Spiritual Gathering cultivators

Purpose: Basic combat, self-defense, and energy manipulation.

Mostly Used by: Spiritual Sensing and Spiritual Gathering cultivators.

Ranks:

Low Grade: Simple attacks, usually one or two movements. Only effective at the Spiritual Sensing Stage.

Middle Grade: More complex forms; can combine multiple energies. Spiritual Gathering Stage.

High Grade: High-level Mortal techniques that require experience and careful energy flow. Still used by Spiritual Gathering experts.

> Example: Wind Slash — a basic Mortal Class technique that channels spiritual energy into a concentrated blade of wind.

2. Spiritual Class Techniques

Level: Entry-level higher techniques

Requirement: Must reach Spiritual Harmonization Stage

Nature: Requires understanding of natural spiritual power

Ranks: 1st Grade to 9th Grade

Purpose: Manipulate surrounding spiritual energy to strengthen attacks or defensive barriers.

> Example: Spiritual Dragon Strike — a technique that pulls surrounding spiritual energy into a concentrated strike, capable of tearing through rocks.

3. Earth Class Techniques

Requirement: Mastery over spiritual energy; must understand planetary-level energy

Nature: Draws on Earthly Spiritual Energy — the spiritual aura of an entire region or planet

Ranks: Low, Medium, High

Purpose: Powerful techniques used by sect leaders or planetary guardians.

> Example: Stone Emperor Palm — channels the weight of mountains into a single devastating strike.

4. Heavenly Class Techniques

Requirement: Understanding Heavenly Spiritual Energy — the energy of stars, skies, and heavenly phenomena

Purpose: Rare treasures in high-level sects; often considered a sign of extraordinary talent

Ranks: 1 Star to 9 Stars

> Example: Celestial Serpent Form — transforms the body into a manifestation of heavenly energy, increasing speed and defense.

5. Divine Class Techniques

Purpose: Ultimate treasure of every great clan or sect

Requirement: Necessary for a sect to reach Celestial Class status

Ranks: 1 Star to 9 Stars

10th Star: Only Supreme Clans possess it — a rough imitation of Master Class techniques, unparalleled by ordinary Divine techniques.

Note: Supreme Clans each have only one unique 10th Star Technique.

> Example: Eternal Phoenix Dance — combines destruction and regeneration; a treasure reserved for the most elite sects.

6. Master Class Techniques

Requirement: Only Great Spiritual Masters can create and fully control these

Purpose: Legendary techniques; capable of warping reality at the sect or city level

Ranks: Low Grade, Medium Grade, High Grade

> Example: Golden Emperor Palm — a single strike can alter spiritual flow in a large area; only Great Spiritual Masters can survive and use it.

Spiritual Methods — The Way of Cultivation

Techniques are tools; Spiritual Methods are the path itself. Without a proper method, cultivation is incomplete.

Six Classes of Spiritual Methods

1. Human Class – Basic spiritual methods suitable for Mortal Stage cultivators.

2. Spiritual Class – Requires Spiritual Harmonization; channels ambient spiritual energy efficiently.

3. Earth Class – Mastery over planetary-level energy.

4. Heavenly Class – Taps into stellar and celestial energy.

5. Divine Class – Only for elite sect leaders or Great Spiritual Masters.

6. God Class – Legendary methods, reality-defying, only accessible by the absolute pinnacle of power.

> Without these methods, even a talented cultivator will stagnate.

Beast Ranking — Allies and Threats

In this world, beasts are not ordinary creatures. They are manifestations of spiritual energy and have intelligence, power, and hierarchy.

Ranks

1–4: Standard animals; some enhanced by spiritual energy

5: Can take hybrid forms (half-human, half-beast)

6: Can take full human form

20: Equal to Great Spiritual Master; rare, ancient, and extremely dangerous

> Beasts are a vital part of cultivation life — allies, mounts, bodyguards, or deadly opponents.

First Techniques

Every cultivator begins with basic techniques before moving to higher-class methods.

Mortal Stage: Focused on strengthening the body, enhancing senses, or basic energy strikes

Spiritual Stage: Focused on spiritual energy control, elemental manipulation, or amplification of physical attacks.

> For Ling Chen, the awakening of the first meridian will allow him to practice these techniques and begin his Cultivation journey

This chapter may not have fights or drama, but it is crucial. Understanding techniques, spiritual methods, and beast ranking is like knowing the rules of the game before playing.

When Ling Chen awakens, everything in this chapter will shape his choices, his survival, and his rise in power.
