Lina glanced at the wall clock, and it was almost midnight, and Lucien still hadn't returned. After three years together and two years of a secret marriage, this was her first birthday without him.
And that was because he was out cheating.
On her birthday, he was vacationing abroad with his mistress. Lina quietly finished the last bite of her birthday cake and stood to clear the table.
Just as she finishes cleaning up, he returned with a delightful smile across his face. Apparently his trip had been quite enjoyable. Entering the living room, he spotted Lina sitting on the sofa and froze momentarily.
His smile faded as he casually tossed his suit jacket onto the sofa. "Why aren't you in bed yet?" He asked.
