Bex shot twelve frames in the next thirty seconds.
At the end of the session, when Lina was changing, Bex appeared at the curtain.
"I'm going to use two of those," she said. "The ones with the movement. I want to credit her."
Lina looked at her. "She's not born yet."
"I'll credit her as 'Ivy, thirty-two weeks.' Is that alright?"
Lina thought about a daughter who already had opinions. Who already kicked at the right moment and took her time at ultrasounds and whose name was going to appear in print before she had drawn a single breath outside her mother's body.
"Yes," she said. "That's alright."

The surveillance report for that week noted: *Subject completed jewellery booking. Shoot extended by forty minutes at photographer's request. Subject appears in excellent health. Due date estimated: six weeks.*
Lucien read the report on a Thursday evening.
