Chapter 1 - *Chapter 1 — The Gate That Shouldn’t Exist*

Danny stopped in front of a three-story iron gate.

From the outside, the place looked like an abandoned government facility. Peeling paint. Cracked concrete. Weeds crawling up to his knees. No signboard. No guards. No reason for anyone to care.

But the air was wrong.

Reality here felt… tight. Like the world was holding its breath.

Danny casually brushed a hand through his hair. To anyone watching, it was a lazy gesture. In truth, he was scanning everything. Reflections in distant car windows. Traffic cameras at the intersection. Heat signatures behind walls. Even the vibration of insects inside the drainage pipes.

No witnesses.

Good.

The gate opened without a sound.

And the world behind it rewrote itself.

The ruined building vanished, replaced by a sprawling modern campus hidden inside folded space. Glass towers etched with glowing runes pierced the sky. Floating bridges connected faculties suspended in midair. A colossal magic circle rotated slowly above.

the grounds like an artificial sun, bathing everything in silver light.

Hundreds of new students stepped through the gate, pretending to stay calm while their eyes betrayed them. Some carried staffs that hummed softly. Others had books orbiting their shoulders. One boy tried desperately to push his half-formed wings back under his jacket.

Danny walked in with them, hands in his pockets, expression bored.

To him, this entire dimension was… small.

Cute actually...

He had seen civilizations build academies inside stars. He had watched empires collapse because a single apprentice mispronounced a spell. Compared to that, the Modern Magic Association felt like a school play pretending to be history.

And yet…

This was exactly why he was here.

Normality.

A loud chime echoed across the campus. The floating circle above brightened, and a voice rolled through the air — calm, amplified by magic.

"Welcome, candidates. You are standing inside the Modern Magic Association. From this point forward, your old lives are optional."

A ripple of nervous laughter spread through the crowd.

Danny didn't laugh.

He looked up at the magic circle, eyes narrowing slightly.

Layered beneath the welcoming spell was a surveillance lattice. Ancient. Careful. Watching every heartbeat, every mana fluctuation, every lie.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Someone here was paranoid.

Danny smiled faintly.

He liked paranoid people. They survived longer.

And survival made life less boring.

He stepped forward with the rest of the students as the gates sealed behind them, the sound final — like a chapter closing.

He had no intention of standing out.

No intention of making waves.

He just wanted a quiet school life.

Unfortunately for the Modern Magic Association…

an Ancient Primordial Alpha had just enrolled.

And someone from the darkness quietly detect his presence. Who is it ? Prince Leon Geis...
