c3 Gravity Training Room
After finishing the porridge in the pot, Son Gohan put the bowl down gently on the metal table inside the underground shelter of Capsule Corporation.
After thinking about it for a while, although he was not completely full like a pure-blooded Saiyan such as his father would be after several servings, he still nodded with satisfaction.
The food in the world of Dragon Ball, even this simple porridge prepared from limited preserved grains, carried a taste that felt incredibly vivid to someone who had once lived in the modern world.
Far from being comparable to his previous life, where everything felt ordinary and dull compared to surviving in a ruined timeline where each meal might be the last.
Turning his head and looking at Bulma, Son Gohan did not show the complexity of thoughts running through his mind.
He opened his mouth and asked directly: "By the way, Bulma Aunt, I want to ask, is the gravity training room that Vegeta once used still available now?"
"Gravity training room?" Hearing this, Bulma was slightly startled.
Her eyes widened subtly as memories surfaced. "You… don't you want to use the gravity training room to cultivate? I remember that many years ago, after the Androids first appeared, you said that everyone's training path is different. Even if you copied Vegeta's extreme gravity method from before the Cell Games in the main timeline, it wouldn't necessarily make you stronger…"
"Indeed, that's what I thought at the time." Son Gohan nodded calmly.
Back then, as Future Gohan, he relied more on real combat against Android 17 and Android 18 to grow stronger, believing that life-and-death battles stimulated Saiyan potential more directly than artificial gravity ever could.
"But now, the situation forces me to find a new path! It can be said that I currently lack sufficient pressure. I need to artificially create that pressure to force my Saiyan cells to evolve further, just like Father did when he trained at one hundred times Earth's gravity on the way to Namek!"
He paused briefly.
"After going through this battle, I am even more aware that my strength is no weaker than Android 17 and 18 individually."
"In the past, I could already contend with one of them for a short time, and now after recovering from near death, my base strength has increased significantly."
"But I am still only one person, and they possess infinite energy reactors that never deplete stamina like Saiyans do! Besides, because of previous battles, I permanently lost my left arm while protecting Trunks. If I still had both arms at full condition during that last confrontation… the outcome might have been different."
His voice became firmer.
"So, I must become stronger! Only by reaching a level where I can completely suppress them in overwhelming power can I ensure victory without relying on chance!"
Son Gohan's expression was serious, far beyond his age.
Immediately afterward, he continued: "As for Trunks, I hope he can continue to train with me under high gravity conditions! His Super Saiyan transformation was born from rage, but he still lacks stable ki control. Only by pushing his limits through systematic training can he truly stand on equal footing with me. Therefore, if it can still function, the gravity training room will be of enormous help to us now."
After hearing his long explanation, Bulma's expression gradually shifted.
At least, Son Gohan was not speaking recklessly. He was calmly analyzing the situation and admitting that Android 17 and 18 were not absolutely invincible.
Even so, their last encounter had been a crushing defeat.
"I understand. I will find a way. Although the gravity chamber has been abandoned for years and damaged during one of the Androids' raids, if I repair the internal gravity generators and recalibrate the control panel, it should be operational again…" Bulma nodded thoughtfully, but hesitation still lingered in her voice.
"The difficult part is the energy supply. When Vegeta used the gravity chamber in the past timeline, it consumed a massive amount of power from Capsule Corporation's full infrastructure. Under current conditions, with the power grid destroyed and most generators offline, we cannot maintain high gravity levels through conventional electricity alone."
With Bulma's intelligence, redesigning a gravity amplifier was not impossible. The real issue was resources and stable energy sources in a devastated world.
"In terms of energy, are there alternative materials or power cores that could be substituted? If there's anything you need, just tell me, Bulma Aunt, and I will retrieve it—even if it means searching through the ruins of other cities like North City or East District." Son Gohan answered without hesitation.
"As expected of Goku's son," Bulma said with a faint smile. "You've inherited your father's relentless training spirit. The moment you see a path forward, you want to implement it immediately."
She looked at him with a mixture of pride and sorrow.
"Right now, Earth can only rely on you and Trunks. I'll prepare a detailed list of components—high-density energy cores, intact gravity stabilizers, and certain Capsule-grade alloys. You'll need to search multiple ruined cities. Although you are powerful, I still must remind you to be careful. Android 17 and 18 often wander unpredictably."
Bulma's expression softened with relief and concern intertwined.
She truly hoped Son Gohan would take care of himself.
Since Son Goku died of the heart virus, and Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, and the others were killed during the first appearance of the Androids, Son Gohan had become the last pillar of resistance.
Two years ago, Chi-Chi had still been alive in hiding, and Bulma at least had someone to share her grief with. But after an unexpected attack destroyed another settlement, Chi-Chi also perished, leaving Bulma with only Trunks and Gohan as family.
Others did not know how many times Son Gohan had stood at the brink of death, bleeding and broken, only to return stronger each time due to Saiyan resilience.
Bulma had witnessed it all.
This once gentle boy who studied under Piccolo and laughed freely during the Saiyan and Namek battles had gradually transformed into a hardened warrior burdened with humanity's last hope.
"I know. Don't worry, Bulma Aunt."
Hearing her concern, Son Gohan nodded firmly in promise.
"Then, I'll get to work first, and you'll have to help me persuade Trunks later. Ever since he transformed into a Super Saiyan for the first time in the rain that day, he's been clamoring to seek revenge on Android 17 and 18 immediately." Bulma suddenly changed the subject, catching Son Gohan slightly off guard.
Sure enough, just like in the original timeline.
Trunks is excellent in talent, courage, and heart, but he still retains innocence and simplicity that come from being sheltered underground for most of his life.
If it were not for that straightforward confidence, in the original history he would not have been overpowered so easily by the Artificial Humans during his early attempts to confront them.
"Understood. And it is indeed necessary to train him properly before letting him face them again."
...
After half an hour.
Saying goodbye to Bulma, Son Gohan took the initiative to set off with Trunks toward the nearest ruined city to search for usable supplies.
At present, food capsules, preserved grains, bottled water, and medical materials were all urgently needed. Especially once they began high-intensity training, their Saiyan appetites would increase dramatically, just as Goku and Vegeta required massive amounts of food after gravity sessions.
Therefore, this trip required gathering at least more than one month's rations to avoid unnecessary risk of repeated exposure.
Fortunately, because he inherited the memories of the original Future Gohan, he knew exactly which supply depots had not yet been completely looted and which underground warehouses still contained preserved Capsule Corp emergency stocks.
Otherwise, searching blindly across destroyed cities patrolled randomly by Android 17 and 18 would be extremely dangerous.
Within just a few hours, flying low across the southern regions while deliberately suppressing their ki to avoid detection, and carefully steering clear of areas where Android 17 and 18 were known to wander for amusement, Son Gohan and Trunks collected a considerable amount of supplies.
After storing everything inside compact capsules, Son Gohan changed direction and led Trunks toward a deserted island off the southern coastline, far from any major city ruins.
"Brother Gohan, why did you bring me here? Are we looking for something special?" Trunks asked curiously while landing on the sandy shore.
Up until now, they had only talked about gathering supplies and nothing else.
So he did not know what his master intended.
Was it just for Bulma's sake that he wanted to educate Trunks?
For Son Gohan, yes and no.
He also wanted to test the analytical capabilities of the system and verify certain combat assessments.
Therefore, Trunks was the perfect sparring partner and test subject.
"I heard from Bulma Aunt that you can't wait to get revenge on Android 17 and 18."
"This kind of courage is commendable. The Saiyan spirit does not fear strong enemies. But as your elder brother and also the one who trained you for years after Piccolo and the others fell, I must see whether you truly have the ability to stand against them now." Son Gohan said seriously, his tone firm like a true master.
When he heard this, Trunks did not fully grasp the deeper meaning behind those words.
He simply assumed that his elder brother wanted to test his new strength after transformation.
"Hey~! Brother Gohan, then watch carefully! After transforming into a Super Saiyan, my power feels dozens of times stronger than before!" Trunks said confidently, rubbing the bridge of his nose just like Vegeta sometimes did, unable to hide his excitement.
In an instant, he released his normal state power fully.
His base ki surged outward like a compressed spring suddenly released, stirring the sand around them.
Like a rabbit finally escaping a cage, full of restless energy.
Indeed, according to the memories inherited from the original Future Gohan, he himself had also been somewhat impetuous when he first achieved Super Saiyan after years of harsh training and rage.
The Super Saiyan transformation is simply too powerful. Once triggered through intense emotional stimulus, it shatters previous limits and grants a fiftyfold amplification over base power, as established during Goku's battle with Frieza on Planet Namek.
"It is indeed astonishing power for someone who just transformed, but it is not enough at this level." Son Gohan smiled slightly while calmly sensing Trunks' ki fluctuations. "Transform, Trunks. Out here in the open sea, far from cities, you don't need to worry about being detected by Android 17 and 18."
As he spoke, his eyes narrowed slightly.
Through the system's internal analytical interface, numerical estimations appeared clearly in his perception.
Trunks' base combat power was roughly 2 million, not much different from a few days ago before the transformation.
After transforming into Super Saiyan, his power surged dramatically as golden hair stood upright and turquoise eyes sharpened, lightning crackling faintly around his aura.
No surprise his Super Saiyan combat level stabilized around 100 million.
Impressive for a teenager who had just unlocked the form.
But still far from sufficient to challenge two infinite-energy Artificial Humans simultaneously.
