Chapter 160 - Chapter 160: The Big Guy's Temper

Boom!!!

The sea surface exploded.

It wasn't the kind of splash caused by an artillery shell.

It was as if the entire ocean had its table flipped over.

That layer of dark blue Mithril Shield had blocked the Parasitic Flesh Balls falling like rain, but it couldn't withstand the temper of this big guy.

Dozens of nautical miles away.

That Green Colossus piercing the sky... moved.

It was like a giant with an extremely bad temper, rudely awakened from its slumber.

Countless thick Vines lashed out violently through the air.

With a sound that tore through the air, a deafening sonic boom.

It even drowned out the thunder.

"That thing... is alive?!"

Qi Chun's voice in the communication channel cracked with disbelief.

"No shit!"

Qin Yu stared fixedly at the overwhelming green shadow crashing towards them.

Those weren't just Vines.

At the tip of each Vine was a gaping maw filled with sharp fangs.

And.

From those mouths, Green Poison Mist was spewing forth.

"All hands!"

Qin Yu roared.

"Hang on tight!!"

Thwack!!

The first Vine slammed viciously into the President's Energy Shield.

The entire ship.

Lurched violently to the right at a forty-five-degree angle, like a kicked soda can!

Screeeech—

The blue Mithril Shield emitted an ear-piercing grinding sound.

Its glow flickered erratically.

Clearly.

That single blow had almost shattered the Shield.

"Warning! Warning!"

"Energy output overload!"

"Shield integrity down to 70%!"

"Hull structure compromised!"

In the cockpit.

Li Ruobing was thrown clear off her feet, slamming into the wall.

But she ignored the pain.

Scrambling back to the control console on her hands and knees.

Her fingers flew across the keyboard.

"Qin Yu!!"

"We can't hold it!"

"That thing's power is too immense!"

"Even S-Grade Mithril can't withstand physical strikes of that magnitude!"

"Two more hits like that, and we'll be torn apart!"

Qin Yu gripped the railing with one hand with all his might.

With his other hand, he physically fought against the inertia trying to fling him away, forcing himself back into position.

He looked out the window.

More Vines were gathering.

Like countless venomous snakes preparing to hunt.

"We hold, even if we can't!"

Qin Yu gritted his teeth.

A fierce determination shone in his eyes.

"Qi Chun!"

"Stop playing dead over there!"

"Get that piece-of-junk fortress of yours over here!"

"Block the flank for me!"

"Share the fire!"

"Huh?!"

Qi Chun wailed.

"Yu-ge! Mine's just a half-finished prototype!"

"Shut up!"

Qin Yu cut him off.

"If you don't move."

"I'll blow your power furnace to bits right now!"

"I'm moving! I'm moving, alright?!"

Fatty was clearly terrified out of his wits by Qin Yu.

Compared to that green monster.

He was more afraid of Qin Yu, this living King of Hell.

Soon.

Thwack!

Another lash came down.

This time.

Qi Chun's fortress was positioned just right in the blind spot, forcibly taking half the impact meant for the President.

Crack!

A corner of the fortress was directly smashed to pieces.

"My house!!"

Qi Chun's heart-wrenching sobs filled the channel.

"Shut it!"

Qin Yu had no time for his lamentations.

Because something more troublesome had arrived.

Sssss…

The Green Poison Mist that had been blocked outside before.

Was now beginning to corrode the Shield.

That sound.

Like sulfuric acid splashing on glass.

The shield was growing thinner.

The light was fading.

"Not good!"

Elena's voice came from the deck.

Though muffled by the wind, her urgency was unmistakable.

"Those spores!"

"They're consuming the energy!"

"The shield is about to break!"

Before her words finished.

A soft pop.

Like a soap bubble bursting.

The blue light barrier that had protected the President for ten minutes.

Shattered.

Completely shattered.

"ROAR—!!"

With the barrier gone.

The parasitic monsters that had long crawled all over the ship.

Like sharks smelling blood.

Frantically swarmed onto the deck.

"Open fire!!"

"Don't let them near the hatch!!"

The barrel of the close-in defense cannon in Elena's hands was already glowing red.

But there were too many monsters.

Dense and countless.

Unkillable.

Simply unkillable.

"Ah!!"

A scream.

A female soldier's rifle jammed.

The next second.

A parasitic ball the size of a basketball lunged straight at her face.

Its sharp teeth instantly pierced her throat.

Blood gushed out.

But that wasn't the most terrifying part.

The most terrifying part was.

After the monster's tendrils burrowed into her body.

In just a few seconds.

Her body began to convulse and mutate.

Green fuzz sprouted on her skin.

Her eyes turned a dead-fish-like grayish-white.

Then.

She staggered to her feet.

Raised her gun.

And aimed at her comrades beside her.

"Is that... infection?!"

Li Ruobing stared at the surveillance feed, her face as pale as paper.

"It's not just physical attacks."

"This is a biochemical crisis!"

"Damn it!"

Qin Yu slammed his fist hard against the console.

The alloy surface dented under the blow.

The situation was spiraling out of control.

If it were just physical attacks, he could still rely on the ship's sturdy hull and powerful guns to hold the line.

But this bizarre infection.

Was impossible to guard against.

If this continued.

Even without the giant plant taking action.

These small monsters alone could turn everyone on board into zombies.

"We have to destroy the mother body!"

Qin Yu suddenly looked up.

His gaze pierced through the chaotic battlefield.

Firmly locking onto the massive plant core in the distance.

It was the root.

And the heart.

Amidst the countless wildly thrashing vines.

There was a pulsating, enormous flesh ball emitting an eerie red glow.

That was its weakness.

And the "brain" controlling these monsters.

"Ruo Bing!"

Qin Yu grabbed the communicator.

His tone as cold as ice shards.

"Cut off all power."

"Everything!"

"What?!"

Li Ruobing froze.

Thinking she had misheard.

"Cut off power?!"

"At a time like this?!"

"Without power, we'll be sitting ducks!"

"Cut it off!!"

Qin Yu roared.

"Living quarters! Power sector! Even life support systems!"

"Cut them all off!"

"Channel all the energy."

"Into that interface!"

"Which interface?"

Li Ruobing instinctively asked.

Qin Yu didn't answer.

He tore off the weapon case on his back.

Click!

The black, deathly silent "Netherworld: Death's Kiss."

He slammed it heavily into the specially designed slot right in front of the console.

Hum—

The moment the gun connected with the slot.

It emitted an excited hum.

Like a bloodthirsty beast catching the scent of prey.
