Chapter 74 - Magic and Malice :

Zavian had protected Sheyaan from the shattered glass yet he reminded completely unaware that someone.

else had witnessed the closeness they shared in the moment. Lucy, who had just arrived moments ago,

stood at the doorway and, seeing them like that, was visibly irritated.

She clapped loudly and, with a sharp, sarcastic smirk, taunted,

"Well, well… looks like there's quite a bit of romance going on here."

Her sudden voice and clapping instantly changed the atmosphere of the room.

Zavian and Sheyaan both turned toward her at once. Seeing Lucy there, Sheyaan felt deeply embarrassed, her heart racing with unease.

But Zavian? He remained completely calm. Still holding Sheyaan in his arms,

he turned toward Lucy and stared at her with his deep, expressionless gaze.

Zavian's silence only fueled Lucy's anger further. She mocked again,

"Oh? You're still carrying... her like that? That much concern?"

Hearing Lucy's words, Sheyaan's heartbeat quickened. She glanced nervously at Zavian and gently held onto his shoulder, signaling him to put her down.

Ignoring Lucy's remarks, Zavian didn't put Sheyaan down on the floor. Instead, he carefully carried her over and gently seated her on the bed.

Composing herself, Sheyaan looked up at Lucy and asked softly,

"Why are you... here? Did you need.. something?"

Hearing this, Lucy let out a sarcastic laugh. Crossing her arms, she said,

"Oh? Did I...disturb you? And for your...information, I know how to handle my... own matters."

She shot a proud glance at Zavian and added,

"Unlike you, I'm not used to....depending on others."

Zavian stood there silently, watching everything. He clearly understood that Lucy was trying to belittle Sheyaan, but for now, he chose not to interfere.

Just then, Sheyaan—who had been quiet until now—stood up from the bed and stepped forward, facing Lucy with anger. She said firmly,

"What are you...even saying? Zayan was just... helping me."

Lucy, who had always considered Sheyaan timid, was completely stunned to hear her say "Zavian" so naturally, without any formality. Her eyes widened in shock as she repeated,

"Zayan …?"

A sarcastic laugh escaped Lucy's lips.

"Oh...so you even... know his name!"

Her tone trend colder as she continued.

"But is...doesn't matter.." now Fangxi... well be the one to deal... with you!"

"After all, he trusts you..so much… and you've ruined... everything!"

Hearing this, Zavian's anger rose sharply. His fists clenched, but he remained silent.

Sheyaan, who had been burning inside listening to Lucy's nonsense, couldn't tolerate it anymore. She shouted,

"Lucy, just stop it! You've been talking nonsense... for so long. We haven't done...anything wrong!"

Hearing Sheyaan raise her voice like that, Lucy froze for a moment. Then, with an attitude, she glared at her and said,

"There's no need...to shout. Just wait until Fangxi...gets here!"

With that, Lucy gave a faint smirk and walked away. As soon as she left, a heavy silence filled the room.

Sheyaan looked at Zavian, who was still standing there, stiff and expressionless. It felt strange to her that he hadn't said anything to Lucy.

Lost in these thoughts, she sat down on the bed. The entire room fell into a deep silence.

Then Zavian looked at Sheyaan, who sat there looking quite upset and troubled.

Lucy's poisonous words had clearly affected Sheyaan. When Zavian saw her like that—almost breaking—he stepped in front of her and said in a calm yet cold voice,

"Don't think too much..about what she said.

Sheyaan slowly lifted her head sadness clearly visible on her face. Looking into Zavian's eyes with innocent worry she asked.

"What will she say... to Fangxi?

Her voice trembled slightly as she continued..

"After hearing all this, he'll be...definitely be angry!"

As she said this, her eyes filled with tears. Seeing her like this made Zavian's heart tighten.

He glanced around, then took a deep breath and sat down on the floor near her feet. In a firm yet gentle tone, he said,

"Don't overthink it… you haven't done anything...wrong. Fangxi is sensible—he won't be influenced...by others."

Zavian's words gave some comfort to her restless heart. She nodded slowly and said,

"Hmm… I hope so."

Seeing her a little calmer now, Zavian's tone began to soften back to normal.

Sensing Sheyaan's sadness, Zavian changed the topic and said in a slightly playful yet cold tone,

"Come on, let's fix the.... mistake you made... earlier."

Sheyaan looked at him in confusion and asked,

"Hmm… earlier mistake? Which mistake?"

Hearing this, Zavian gave a faint smile and lightly tapped her nose with his finger, saying softly,

"Forgot so... quickly? Look over there."

He pointed toward the spot where the broken glass pieces and spilled foundation were scattered. In his usual cold tone, he added,

"That's your...mistake."

Sheyaan immediately remembered and quickly said,

"Oh right! I'll clean it...right now."

As she tried to get up from the bed, Zavian swiftly held her hand and made her sit back down. In a firm, commanding voice, he said,

"Where are you... going? Sit here and... watch!"

Saying that, Zavian turned toward the scattered glass and foundation—and snapped his fingers sharply.

"Snap!"

As soon as Zavian snapped his fingers, a bright red light flashed across the room, and in the very next moment, the entire scene changed.

The spilled foundation and the dangerous shards of glass on the floor disappeared as if they had never been there.

Sheyaan watched all of this with her eyes wide open in amazement.

With excitement, she exclaimed,

"Wow!"

Then she looked at Zavian with a sweet smile and said,

"I feel like keeping... you with me all the time so you...can make everything this easy.. for me!"

At her innocent wish, Zavian gave a faint smile and, narrowing his eyes slightly, said in a teasing tone,

"You're quite greedy, Sheyaan!"

Hearing this Sheyaan instantly got up from the bad and walked toward the mirror.

her expression turned confident as she replied with attitude.

"I'm not greedy… you got it?"

Zavian stood up from the floor and smiled softly, while Sheyaan stood in front of the mirror, combing her hair.

At the same time, the atmosphere downstairs in the hall was completely different.

Manglong, Lucy, and Chan were sitting there. Chan sat quietly on the sofa, lost in deep thought. The only thing on his mind was Zavian.

He thought to himself,

"Who is he,... really? He still hasn't told me... why he lives in this house."

Chan sat in the hall, lost in deep thought. Feeling uneasy, he made a decision in his heart,

"Looks like... I'll have to keep my distance... from him if I want to find out... the truth."

Just then, Chan placed his hand on his neck and let out a pained groan,

"Ahh… it hurts so..much!"

Hearing his voice, Manglong asked sternly,

"What happened? Is your neck... hurting?"

The moment he heard his father's voice, Chan quickly composed himself. He turned toward him and stammered a lie,

"ye...yes, Dad… I think I strained my neck,... that's why it hurts."

Chan hid the truth from Manglong about how Zavian had almost pushed him to the edge of death. Changing the topic, Manglong asked seriously,

"So, what have you decided...about your studies?"

Chan replied calmly,

"Yes, Dad, I'm going to take the...university entrance exam, and I've already... been preparing for it."

Hearing this, a faint smile appeared on Lucy's face. She quickly said,

"That's really good! Chan, you should definitely... go for the exam… but along with your studies, make sure you also... keep our 'plan' in mind."

Chan brushed it off with a light laugh and said,

"Don't worry, I'm managing...both my studies and the work I came... here for."

With complete seriousness and confidence, Chan assured his father, Manglong,

"I'll take special...care of that as.. well. After all, it's very... important for my Dad."

Hearing this, a proud smile spread across Manglong's face. In his heavy voice, he patted him and said,

"Well done, my son! I hope you...live up to this... responsibility."

Chan straightened his posture proudly and replied,

"Don't worry, Dad! Just focus on your business,.. I'll handle.. everything else."

Chan was still feeling proud of himself when suddenly, a flat and

A chilling voice suddenly echoed from behind instantly filling the entire hall with an eerie silence.

"What exactly.... are you planning to handle.., Chan…?"
