Chapter 51 - Episode 46: I met "him"

"Urgh."

David woke up, but this time, not in darkness nor in light.

But a library, a regular library.

David was puzzled. He could not figure why he was here and not in the usual darkness nor in light.

He wandered around. This library…

Has an ending.

"It… ends here…"

A door.

If I open this door, will I leave this place? Or will I get transported to another place?

⌞Open the door.⌝

"Huh?"

David froze. He didn't expect the system to talk, especially to him.

⌞I said open the door.⌝

The system ordered once again.

David was nervous, he doesn't understand the system at all.

Just then, the sound of a pencil rubbing against a paper appeared behind David.

The scritching continued to echo within the library.

David hesitantly turned around to face the sound.

He took a step back and twisted his body.

Upfront, there was another person.

He sat there, unbothered. His back straight and his hand continued to write—steady and concentrated.

There was something familiar about this guy.

Behind his clear glasses was a face so well-known to him it was impossible not to forget—Adrian.

⌞The man in glasses calmly tidied his pencil and papers. He stood up, the familiar face shone under the swinging chandelier.⌝

⌞ "Hello, David." He said, gazing at David with astonishment and awe.⌝

⌞ "Adri…an." David muttered.⌝

⌞His eyes widened as he covered his mouth with both hands in shock.⌝

⌞Adrian stepped forward, his mouth opening and closing, as if to tell a story.⌝

⌞Indeed, I am telling a story.⌝

⌞David shook his head, unable to accept the words coming form his mouth.⌝

⌞ "N—no…" David mumbled. "How are you doing this!?"⌝

⌞ "Simple." Adrian stepped forward once more, his breath close to David's ear.⌝

⌞ "I am God." ⌝
