Chapter 12 - Episode 12 – The Trap at the Docks

The night felt heavier than usual.

Dark clouds covered the sky as if the city itself knew something dangerous was about to happen.

At the east docks, huge containers stood like silent witnesses. The sea waves crashed softly, but the atmosphere was tense.

A black car stopped near the warehouse.

Srikant stepped out.

Alone.

Two of his men followed from a distance, but he signaled them to stay back.

Inside the warehouse, dim yellow lights flickered.

Vikram stood near a stack of cargo boxes, hands in his pockets, smiling calmly.

"I knew you'd come personally," Vikram said.

"You used her location," Srikant replied coldly.

"Of course. I needed to be sure you would."

For a second, silence filled the space.

"You could have faced me directly," Srikant said.

"I am," Vikram replied. "But you needed motivation."

That sentence hit like poison.

Suddenly—

The warehouse doors shut loudly.

Metallic echo.

Men appeared from different corners.

Guns visible.

It was a trap.

Srikant didn't look surprised.

"You always liked drama," he said calmly.

"And you always liked control," Vikram answered.

Meanwhile—

At home, Sasmita was sitting on her bed, trying to distract herself with work.

Her phone vibrated.

Unknown Number.

She hesitated… then opened it.

A live video.

The warehouse.

Srikant standing in the middle.

Surrounded.

Her breath stopped.

Another message followed:

"Watch carefully. This is the world you chose."

Her hands started shaking.

She immediately called Srikant.

No answer.

Back at the docks—

One of Vikram's men stepped forward aggressively.

"Tonight the King falls."

Srikant's expression didn't change.

"You still don't understand," he said quietly.

Suddenly—

The lights inside the warehouse went out.

Complete darkness.

Gunshots echoed.

Shouting.

Footsteps.

Chaos.

Outside, headlights flashed.

More vehicles arrived.

Within seconds, the warehouse doors burst open from outside.

Srikant's men stormed in.

The trap had another trap.

When the lights came back on—

Several of Vikram's men were on the ground, injured but alive.

Srikant stood unharmed.

His shirt slightly torn.

Eyes burning.

Vikram, however, had disappeared.

Only his voice echoed from somewhere above—

"You won tonight, King. But the game isn't over."

Silence followed.

Srikant picked up his phone.

Missed calls from Sasmita.

He closed his eyes for a moment.

Meanwhile—

Sasmita was crying, still staring at the frozen video screen.

Her phone suddenly rang.

Srikant.

She answered instantly.

"Are you okay?" she whispered.

"I'm fine."

She broke down.

"This is not love… this is war!"

There was a pause.

"No," he said softly.

"This is what happens when love enters war."

Far away, from a rooftop overlooking the docks, Vikram watched everything calmly.

And in his hand—

Another photograph.

Sasmita walking alone outside her college earlier that day.

He smiled slowly.

"The next move," he whispered,

"won't be at the docks."
