Chapter 101 - Episode 101 – Safe Zone Arrival & Memory Puzzle

🚆 Love Train in Facebook Station

08:45 PM – Remote Safe House, African Outskirts

The helicopter touched down quietly on a hidden airstrip, nestled between sparse trees and rocky terrain. Its rotors spun down, leaving a ringing silence in their ears. Srikant and Sasmita slid out carefully, scanning the perimeter for any signs of Axis pursuit.

Rudra's voice over comms was steady but tense:

"Area secure for twenty minutes. Minimal patrols detected. Stay vigilant."

Srikant led Sasmita to a reinforced shelter nearby, one used for emergency extractions. Every step was precise, his senses alert for the slightest anomaly.

Sasmita, exhausted, leaned against the wall, pendant clutched tightly. The memory fragments from earlier were still flashing in her mind, shadows of a past she could barely piece together.

Step One – Immediate Debrief

Rudra joined them in the small safe house. He spread a tactical map on the table.

"Axis units are regrouping. Reinforcements likely in less than an hour," he said. "We've bought you minimal time. Use it wisely."

Srikant nodded, eyes never leaving Sasmita.

"We need to focus on her memory. That might reveal Axis's next move," he said softly.

Sasmita's voice was hesitant, barely above a whisper:

"I… I remember fragments. Faces, labs, experiments… but it's fuzzy. And sometimes I see… him. The one who controlled it all."

Step Two – The Memory Puzzle

Sasmita drew a shaky diagram in the dirt with her finger, connecting fragmented images she could recall:

Shadowy lab figures

Strange monitors tracking her vitals

Faces she didn't recognize, but which triggered fear

A black pendant—similar to the one she still wore

Srikant observed silently, letting her fill in gaps.

"Each fragment is a clue," he murmured. "We'll decode this together."

Rudra added, "These fragments indicate a controlled environment. Axis wants you to believe you're someone else entirely. But your instincts are real. That's what they cannot manipulate."

Step Three – Emotional and Tactical Layer

Sasmita's hands trembled slightly as she traced the final fragment on the ground.

"What if I'm not who I think I am? What if I've been manipulated all this time?"

Srikant took her hand gently.

"You are you. Axis can manipulate memories, create shadows, even clone behavior. But they cannot control your choices. Not when you decide who you are."

Sasmita's eyes met his. The flicker of trust returned, strengthening her resolve.

Step Four – Axis Monitoring

Back at Axis headquarters, Pallavi reported the extraction status.

"Subject still alive. Safe zone unknown, but likely triangulated from drone data," she said, voice tense.

Sovereign's expression remained calm.

"Let them gather fragments. Let them believe they have time. Our advantage isn't speed… it's inevitability. They cannot escape what they don't yet understand."

Step Five – Tactical Planning

Srikant began outlining next steps, using the memory diagram Sasmita had sketched.

Identify key figures in her fragmented memory

Trace connections to current Axis operations

Determine if her memories can lead them to a safe path forward

Rudra added:

"We also need a contingency. If Axis tracks the signal, we may have only one escape route. Every step must be precise."

Sasmita nodded, determination replacing hesitation.

"I'll help. Whatever pieces I can remember… we'll use them."

Step Six – First Realization

As they worked, Sasmita suddenly paused, her eyes widening.

"I… I think I remember the pendant. Not just as a signal. It's… it's tied to me… to my past. Axis gave it to me when I was… restrained."

Srikant leaned closer, examining the pendant.

"That confirms it. Axis used it as both control and communication. But now… you can turn it into a tool against them."

Her hands tightened around it, resolve hardening.

Step Seven – Emotional Layer

In a rare quiet moment, Sasmita spoke softly, almost to herself:

"I don't know who I was before… but I know who I am now. And I know who I trust."

Srikant's eyes softened, but the tension remained.

"You're not alone. Whatever Axis did… whatever they tried to erase… you're still you. And we'll face them together."

Rudra's voice was steady, practical, but carried unspoken respect:

"Instinct and trust. That's the edge we have over them."
