Eva woke up with a splitting headache. Her brows slightly knitted. Her eyelids lifted slowly. Everything was a blur at first, then slowly, dim light flickered into her vision as it began to clear.
She stared at the ceiling frowning further. This didn't look like her room or any place she'd been in before. She moved her head left and right as she looked around the room, but still, nothing appeared familiar.
She sat up, wincing as pain shot through the back of her head.
"What…?" she sat up immediately only to regret it at once. Her hand shot to her forehead, and her eyes closed. She sucked in a sharp breath.
"You're awake," a deep, yet familiar said at the side. She turned and found Smith leaning against the door frame.
He was dressed in casual. His deep gaze remained the same as ever, but she could sense something else in it… relief?
