Chapter 58 - She Agreed

Ever since Jeff and Brandon's relationship improved, Brandon—Jeff's former brother-in-law—had been urging Jeff to marry Jessica Harper.

Brandon already knew that Jeff had been pretending to be weak for the past three years. Although he didn't know Jeff's true family background, judging from Liu Zhengkun's attitude toward him, Jeff's strength was definitely extraordinary.

Brandon estimated that Jeff was at least a major local player.

By marrying his sister to Jeff, Brandon would be able to do whatever he wanted in Riverforge and even the surrounding states!

Brandon kept sending Jeff private photos of Jessica, which he stole from her phone while she was asleep.

Jessica never posted these photos online; she kept them for her own enjoyment.

Even Brandon, as her older brother, said, "If Jessica weren't related to me by blood, I would want to adopt her!"

After looking at those photos, Jeff couldn't possibly be unmoved.

But right now, he was at a crucial moment in his battle with his ex-wife, and all he could think about was getting revenge on Emily. He had no interest in falling for someone else.

After hanging up the phone, Jeff let out a long sigh.

"Emily, you're finally going to marry that rich second-generation. You two can finally be together openly, hehe."

Jeff's smile was bitter. He originally didn't want to get involved in Emily and Ryan's matter tomorrow, but in the end, he decided to go to the scene himself!

He wanted to see Emily accept Ryan's marriage proposal with his own eyes!

He would remember the happy smiles of that adulterous couple!

Then, let them receive the punishment they deserved!

Jeff called Victoria Lang: "Victoria, come with me to the God of Songs' concert tomorrow night."

...

7 PM.

Riverforge Stadium.

The stadium, which holds tens of thousands of people, was packed to capacity. Even though it rained a little today, it did not dampen the fans' enthusiasm.

This is the charm of the American pop music icon.

The audience at the event included people of all ages, ranging from teenagers to those in their fifties.

Jeff and Victoria Lang were in VIP seats. At a concert, VIP seats are different from regular seats.

The regular seats are too far away to see the singers on stage; you can only see the screen. Plus, the seats are those dirty, folding hard seats typical of stadiums.

VIP seats are much better; they're closer, and Jeff's seat is in the first row, just a few steps from the stage, and the seats are comfortable too.

However, Jeff wasn't the only one with the money to buy VIP seats.

"Oh, what a coincidence, Jeff, Ms. Lang, how many times have we bumped into each other?"

Ryan Caldwell took Emily's hand and walked over. Their seats were actually next to each other!

Jeff noticed the two holding hands. He remembered that the previous times he had encountered them, they wouldn't hold hands in public, but now...

Seeing this scene, Jeff felt a pang of sadness in his heart!

There was a time when he also fantasized about holding Emily's hand and going to a concert together!

Victoria Lang only understood why Jeff had invited her to the concert after seeing Emily; she had thought Jeff was going to pursue her.

Victoria Lang teased, "How many times has Young Master Caldwell proposed lately? You're really persistent. If it doesn't work out, just give up. Not just anyone can be Emily's husband."

Ryan laughed and said, "Even if I had to beg a hundred times, I would be willing. Hehe, I'm not like some people who never even proposed and just showed up at someone's door with a bag to marry into the family. Hehe."

Jeff was too tired to argue with Ryan, so he sat quietly in his seat and waited for the performance to begin.

Soon, the singing legend appeared on stage and ignited the audience with his song "Hungry Wolf Legend."

After that, he sang many songs that everyone is familiar with.

The God of Songs truly lives up to his name. He's almost 60 years old, yet his singing is still so steady. He even sang and danced on stage for a full two hours!

Everyone was captivated by the charm of the singing god.

At the end of the concert, the "God of Songs," covered in sweat and panting, held the microphone and said, "I'm tired. How about I find a fan to sing for me now?"

As everyone knows, this is the song request segment of the concert.

Many singers include a song request segment at their concerts; however, to prevent any unforeseen circumstances, these requests are usually made in advance.

As for who gets the opportunity, it's naturally whoever has the most money.

Ryan had already paid, so the God of Songs pointed at Ryan and said, "Here, give this to this friend."

The staff handed the microphone to Ryan, and at that moment, all the tens of thousands of people in the audience were watching him.

Ryan said, "I'd like to dedicate the song 'Love Letter' to my girlfriend, Emily Harper."

"Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to propose to my girlfriend, Emily. Will you marry me?"

Ryan knelt down on one knee once again and proposed to Emily!

He took out a Cartier diamond ring from his pocket; it was clearly not the same ring as before.

The fans at the scene were delighted to see this and cheered enthusiastically.

A group of people reveled, while Jeff sat all alone in loneliness!

Victoria Lang said to Jeff, "Jeff, if you really still like Emily, this is your last chance."

Victoria Lang knew that this time, Emily would agree.

Based on Victoria Lang's understanding of Ryan's father, the Caldwell family would not allow their daughter-in-law to refuse marriage proposals more than ten times.

Jeff sat in his seat, his hands trembling slightly. At this moment, he really hesitated!

Should I rush forward to stop all of this and tell Emily my true identity?

Let bygones be bygones!

Revenge, plans—to hell with them all!

All he knew at that moment was that he still loved Emily!

However, before Jeff's struggle could yield any results, Emily's melodious voice echoed throughout the entire stadium:

"I do."

These two words were the ending of their relationship for Jeff.

Ryan excitedly slipped a diamond ring onto Emily's ring finger.

Looking at the ring on Emily's ring finger, Jeff felt as if his heart was being torn apart!

The woman I loved for three years married someone else!

Jeff thought he was very cool, as he decisively chose to divorce Emily the moment she cheated on him.

He thought he would never think of her again, and that he wouldn't care who she ended up with in the future.

But Jeff overestimated himself.

How can you easily let go of someone you've fallen in love with?

After Ryan's marriage proposal was successful, the singing god actually looked at Jeff and said, "My friend, would you like to request a song? We can sing together."

Ryan was immediately startled. Could it be that Jeff had also spent money?

In fact, Jeff didn't understand why the God of Songs would contact him, since he hadn't bought a spot to request a song.

This was because the promoters learned that Jeff would be at the event, and specifically told the singer that Jeff is the most successful entrepreneur in Riverforge recently, asking the singer to give him a chance to request a song.

Jeff took the microphone; at that moment, he also really wanted to vent his emotions through a song.

There are some things he can't say, but he can sing them.

Jeff asked, "May I play and sing at the same time?"
