After getting myself full,I walked out into his office. The curtains were back up and Kendrick was no where to be found.
I walked over to his desk,my eyes scanning over a piece of paper.
He wrote, 'You don't have to wait for me. Go to the parking lot,the driver is there to take you home'
Oh, the guts that jerk has! Whatever,I was tired anyway. He was stressing me out so much for just a first day. Packing my bag,I walked down to Isabel,my favorite person at the mean time.
"Isa, I guess I'm turning in for today",I told her. it was almost five,the time the company officially closed so I don't have to be worried about getting punished for leaving early.
She smiled,"Of course! Bye!"
I smiled back too and told her good-bye and left for the parking lot. I identified the black SUV with ease. David was chatting to a woman older than me,they were smiling and laughing and looked too comfortable.
When I neared them, I loudly cleared my voice. They looked at me startled.
"Ah... Uhm... Iris I didn't know you'll be back so early",David stammered nervously. The woman said bye quickly and left.
"Can I enter the car now?",I asked.
"Yes!"
I got in the car whistling and occasionally clasping my mouth,not to burst laughing. When I calmed down,I sat up straight and opened my mouth,"So, who was that fine young lady?"
"That was uhm... Lydia",he said in one breath.
"Oh, you guys are quite comfortable together",I pressed on.
"Really?", he said his strong voice soft.
"Yeah, she's into you. If you make a woman laugh and smile like that,you can take the next step with her"
His smile grew wide,"You sound very certain"
"Yeah,I guess. Don't forget to invite me to the wedding",I joked.
He coughed loudly before pulling into the mansion. I laughed at his behaviour, getting out if the car. I just remembered I gave the key to that asshole.
"Of you're looking for the key, don't worry. The door is always open"
"What about thieves?", I asked.
"No one can enter here if there's no information about their stay in the security system''
"Don't tell me that, there's cameras!"
"It's not camera. It's just some piece of technology. illy be in my room when you need me
He lived in his own room outside of the mansion,yet still in the compound.
After eating,I bathed and prepared for bed,I wasn't waiting for the asshole again tonight. I closed my eyes
But before I could enter a deep slumber,a loud bang echoed downstairs. I jerked awake,what if it was burglary. But I say a burglary alarm in the kitchen!
I grabbed an iron and my shoe,ready to beat the hell out of any asshole who dares break into my home,only to see a young woman. 'She's pretty', was the first thing my mind told me. Truly,her hair was long blonde eyes deep blue and mouth plump. She wore a blue fitted dress that showed her curves and her busy was big,I gasped. My God!!
"Who's the whore whoring around my fiance!",her voice boomed. Her bag was attractive straight out if Chanel!
"Can't you hear me,bitch! How dare you live under the same roof with my fiance!"
She moved closer to me,her perfume immediately hit my senses. She threw her bag on the couch and stared daggers at me.
Honestly,I wasn't in my best clothes,all I wore was an oversized t-shirt just above my knees, my hair was disheveled and I looked whor-ish if that is even a word.
"I give you half an hour get your shit out of this house!",she angrily sat on the couch.
The truth was kicking in finally, oh my goodness!
She really wanted me out!
"I.... I...",no word came out.
"What are you still waiting for, standing there?!",she questioned with that solid voice of hers.
My heart dropped when I knew ,no matter what I did I'll still be sent out if the house,before I could even think of a way to convince her,a loud slap jerked me back to reality,I looked to see what happened,only to see her in front of me,her anger growing by the second.Paim shot through my cheek before I knew that I was the one who was slapped. Tears attempted to blue my vision.
I was furiously biting my lips, trying to stop myself. I have been strong all my life. Don't let such a trivial issue. get into you!
The flung open and Dave jumped in.
"Miss Sall, I'm sorry but you'll have to stop hitting her like that"
"And who the hell are you?!",she challenged."Since when did Ken bring in these lowly people into his home?!"
"Ma'am,I just called him and he is on his way here please I want you to be calm"
KENDRICK POV
The contract took longer than expected. I received a call from my driver but I was too tired to pick it up. I decided to crash in a hotel, since it was quite late .
This is the 19th time the calm is coming and so,I picked it up. One thing I knew about him is that,he wouldn't stop calling me until I picked the call. I just kept him because he was a genuine one.
"Yes, hello?",I spoke.
"Sir,you have to come back now!"his voice was filled with urgency."Miss Sall arrived tonight and have decided to send Miss Coke out if the house!"
That was enough information for me to get on my feet and call my other driver. I know it was late but what can I do?
"I'll be right there,handle the situation for me"
Cynthia is my betrothed, it is a marriage of convenience. But I made it clear we were to get married by the end of the year to get my share of my grandfather's company. I warned her to stay out of my life till then.
I wonder how Iris was coping to Cynthia. Cynthia was a spoiled person,a month experienced with her, enlightened me that she is never good news.
