Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Darkness

Maya used to smile a lot.

Not the kind of smile people fake to survive the day—but the kind that came from a heart that felt safe.

She believed in love.

She believed in promises.

She believed that when someone said, "I'll never leave," they meant it.

She was wrong.

A year ago, her life was different. She had plans. She had dreams. She had someone she thought would be her forever.

Rafi.

He was her peace. Her future. Her home.

He used to say,

"I'll stay with you. No matter what happens."

And she believed him.

She trusted him with the parts of her heart she never showed anyone else.

But people don't always stay.

Sometimes, they leave without warning.

Sometimes, they leave without goodbye.

One night, her phone lit up with a message.

Just one message.

"I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore."

That was it.

No explanation.

No call.

No chance to ask why.

Just silence.

And silence can destroy a person in ways words never could.

That night, something inside Maya broke.

Not loudly.

Not suddenly.

But slowly.

Quietly.

She stopped laughing the same way.

She stopped dreaming about the future.

She stopped believing in forever.

To everyone else, she looked normal.

She went to work.

She talked when necessary.

She smiled when expected.

But inside—

Everything was dark.

She told herself she didn't need anyone anymore.

She told herself she was stronger alone.

She told herself love was just a beautiful lie.

But deep inside…

There was still a small part of her heart waiting.

Waiting for something.

Or someone.

She didn't know it yet.

But somewhere, not far from her broken world—

Someone was about to walk into her life.

Someone who wouldn't leave.

Someone who would become her light…

After all her darkness.

Hook:

She didn't know it yet—but the next person she would meet would change everything she thought she knew about love.
